He never, ever, favors the kids over the vets. Wrong coach for where this team is going

This team is heading for the middle, he's perfect for that!!!

He's supposed to be a developmental coach but our most important young player has regressed majorly this year.

Great segment and much needed. Thanks questioning Dylan. The last thing fans in NW will do is boo the team, but hak should have talk 5 games ago

Thanks for the Deep Dive guys! I think Hakstol has totally mishandled this whole opportunity to wake up the team. If I had a boss or coach that chewed me out to the medi a but did not talk to the team directly about how he felt I would be very annoyed and and find it more difficult to show them respect.

Here’s something I find interesting. When SOH interviewed Shane Wright last week, Shane mentioned that next year, he anticipates to start out in more of a bottom-6 capacity with the Kraken and then work his way up the roster throughout the season. If that’s the case, then I wonder how the roster will shape up starting next year if Shane isn’t immediately filling in Wennberg’s slot straight away.

Good discussion! I would push back on making Tanev and Gourde the targets of trades as the franchise is still so new, if you get rid of those guys you might alienate a lot of casual fans. Have to balance team progression with fan excitement as those guys jump off the ice and screen when you watch. Totally agree on Schultz and Tuna though.

I really hope this doesn’t turn into another situation like the Seahawks where they waited too long to fire Pete Carroll. I don’t want have to go through more seasons of Hakstol doing the same things that don’t work and see the fanbase evaporate. Kraken also have to do something about letting people easily access their product. ROOT Sports is too expensive and very limited if you don’t have cable.

Talking about the blue line, it's telling that the coach has never been willing to play the 7th D.

I'm not sure if it's Ron Francis' nature, but I'd want him to go into the dressing room and let the players have it, essentially saying if any contracted player doesn't want to be here either you or your agent give me a list of teams then start working the phones and offering players for trade before any word got out.

Maybe the Bjorkstrand comments turned the team on Hak for good. Can't imagine that went over well with anyone.

When we hired Francis as the GM I wasn’t very happy. He has always been a cautious, patient and very risk adverse general manager. He had a highly toxic coach in Carolina and he refused to fire him despite a massive uprising from the players. I always believed he would will lead us to the mushy middle. That is where we are. We have a team full of good, but not great players. And unless Francis makes some big swings this offseason, we will be a .500ish team next year, as well. He will not; signing Everly was the perfect example of a meh signing that will not move the needle in the least.

Fleury and Olofsson are both under contract for next year, and that's it for the non-rookies. Worth noting that a bunch of the more experienced guys will stop counting as development players next year (Fleury, Reinke, Schuldt, Hughes, Studenic), in addition to the ones that were already over the limit (Olofsson, Carrick, Hayden, Lind, McCormick, Poturalski, Shore). Wonder if they'll bring back any of the RFAs.

In regards to Logan Morrison, when the Hamilton Bulldogs won the OHL championship when Winterton was on that team, Morrison was their playoff MVP and their clutch performer. He’s simply a guy that performs well when the moment calls for it. And in regards to who they’ll play with, Morrison is a true center at heart. Personally, I want Kartye-Morrison-Winterton. Embrace the kid line!

Dylan come up to tomorrow's game. Logan & Ryan need your 1st goal luck. If those 2 don't score who will?
