A correction on my part. I thought it was an M5, because I failed to notice it is a 6-string model which does make it an M7. As I stated in my origianl post, great playing.
I never leave comments under videos on CZcams. But you deserve it. I can't stop listening to your bass line, over and over again. So delicate, so intelligently constructed and inspiring. A big bravo for your sensitive playing!
🙌 Maaan the bass is nice but I have to give you props on playing, fingering technique, accuracy, tasteful fill placement and just overall musicianship!!! You make the SIRE marketable, not the other way around!!
Man I’ve been on the Fence on this bass I play a 5 string but that 6 string Sire got me wanting to jump off the porch and try a 6 string but your pocket presence was dope
It's in a way kind of hard to explain, but who we are doing it for. He teaches us by His spirit how He wants us to play. One not having pride when we play understanding that it is not about us. Another one is that I'm not sure if you have heard that satan was the minister of music in heaven and he could sing like no other. So when he came to earth, he brought his ideas with him. So what I'm trying to say is that God teaches us how He wants us to play music to Him that would be pleasing to Him. But the MAJOR key to that is our RELATIONSHIP with him. God doesn't want us playing to Him and we're doing any and everything that we KNOW that He is not pleased with. It's more about the relationship than playing too. Someone could be a great musician, but the lifestyle does not please God. We have to examine ourselves daily through prayer and His Word to see if we are lining up.
Bro, you got that M7 sounding real clean! I got that exact bass in the natural version. What knob settings and pickup configurations did you use for this song?
I tend to gravitate towards the “parallel” sound of dual coil pickups. It has a top end bite that’s very distinctive, almost “Ken smith-ish” after that I tend to boost the low mids and bass a hair…
@@AlexOnBass Yes sirrr. Imma give your config a shot in church service on Sunday. I usually favor the rear pup in series mode, with the highs turned down to 25% and everything else flat. thx for the info
Man! I don’t know how I missed this. I favor the sound of the switches in parallel mode. You lose volume but sonically it’s more even to me. Then I boost the low mids to cut thru the mix. I have the bass up ever so slightly, they’re pretty powerful on this bass! Hope this helps
@@AlexOnBassyooo alex!!! do you boost the low mids on the amp or the bass via sweepable knob?! And are your highs flat or cut on the bass? Also sounds like a 50/50 pickup blend? Thanks bro!
Yea I still have it, I LOVE it! It has tone similar to a smith I had and the neck feels really good, like a MTD neck. It’s a light bass too. An amazing bass for the price!
From their site : “The Sire M7 6-string guarantees a wide range of more balanced tone from its modern and Marcus Miller-preferred electronics and hardware, stability from its 5-piece neck, and playing convenience from the rest of the signature features it is charged with.” Also the M5 doesn’t come ins 6 string.
Thank you everyone! If you would take a moment to check out some of my other videos that would be great! 😎

There are good church bassists, and not so good church bassists, just like in every other genre.

Are u using another preamp pedal or goin thru to the FOH?
Cause this tone is superb
Hey! I use a pedal to shape my tone but trust me, the bass is doing the heavy lifting! It’s a great instrument
sire m7 or mtd kingston?
playing feel (comfort)
sound for live
build quality
thanky you :)
Hey thanks for watching! I’m a HUGE fan of 6 string basses, I’ll always prefer them over 5 string. They’re just fun to play 😎
what is your preamp setting and your strings? sounds good

Do you still have the bass and how do you like it? Does it have much neck dive? Thank you!

@@AlexOnBass It seems I'll have to snatch one up. It will be my first 6 string :D Thank you for the quick answer man.
How's the low end on this bass?
It’s great!
Can you please tell me the reference of that bass?
I’m not sure I understand your question???
Is this a Gen 1 or Gen 2?
I’m honestly not sure…
its a 6 String M5 not M7 the M7 have a single Cut Neck, nice Sound, love it.

@@AlexOnBass omg you're right, sorry. the 6-string has the 5-piece neck. I wrote stupid stuff, sorry. shame on me.
@@Nanu4711Nanu No worries! Thank you for watching!
Still have that Sire?
I do 😎, might sell it for the new single cut that was announced at namm. Same bass just different look
Oh yeah? They need add new colours too @@AlexOnBass
@@AlexOnBass- I jumped on the list for that F10. If it sounds as good as this, I will be thrilled.
