    This was VERY helpful. I just happened across mine at Lowes. It needs a little help, I think they burned it some. I have a very bright bathroom with a skylight directly over the bathtub. Hoping it will be happy in there.

    I tried so hard with this plant, it’s fragile and picky. lol
    It suddenly started dying, I almost put in the garbage but, because it still had a one leaf alive I gave it another opportunity, so now is beautiful and healthy. Against any recommendation it’s in direct light and sun. Now I’m afraid to put it in another place or change it the environment. lol

    Where would I place my Pelia Moon Valley? I live in an apartment with West facing windows (3). Where would be the best place to place her, because I'm noticing some spotting. 😩 I just got her over a week ago. She's currently on the windowsill.

    are the leaves suppose to be in green color like your plant in this vid, or the center of the leaves in dark purple like some pix on google? Thanks!

  • @safebarbell
    @safebarbell Před 3 lety +1

    Good video.
    I've just got one of these. It has about 11 10 inch stalks. The growth on each stalk is between 1 and 4 inches for each new growth of leaves. So obviously she needs cutting back.
    Your video doesn't show where to cut back. Should I cut back just above each new growth spurt? This would give me potentially 30 odd new plants to grow. Thanks.

    • @TylerMossop
      @TylerMossop  Před 3 lety +1

      David, you can use stem tip cuttings to propgate the Pilea moon valley. Although this is best done in the spring time. With clean shears remove the tip leaving an inch or so so of stem under the leaves and tip/bud with new grwoth to put in some moist soil. You'll want to find a way to keep the humidity up. Some folks will put in it plastic to help with humidity.

  • @msmurel

    Where do you place the cutting? In medium light as the plant? Or in more light?
