Fantastic job on your video and tutorial. I'm going to get a utopia backrest for my vespa.

Thank you! I just bought a 150cc scooter that is being shipped to my house. I have a bad back and know my two person seat isn't going to help. I needed a backrest I can reach and now I know how to install one. I found some on Amazon in my budget. You are the Only person on CZcams I found talking about this exact type of backrest.

Rocky Gregory replied: (Then he deleted his comment) "He sells them, unfortunate you didn't buy it from this small business owner who makes these and created a video to show how to install it." - Thank you for the thought Gregory. There was nothing in the video that suggested he sold these. No matter, I found one a Kesoto brand for $15.00 US on Amazon which serves my purposes nicely and it's still a plus that I know I could install it before hand. I'm not seeing any unfortunate side here.

@@DivergentDroid Actually I believe I did mention where I got the backrest and yes Utopia does sell them for the Vespa. Give them a call.

Does the backrest interfere with the topcase opening?

Never mind. I saw on the manufacturer's site the backrest folds down to accommodate this. Thanks again for this valuable video. I think I will make this one of my winter projects.

@@TonyPsaltis You can leave the backrest up and still open the top case. It just rests against the backrest. I never fold it down. Good luck with your project. Holler at me if I can help.

How's the backrest working out for you?

Mr. Paladin, were they able to match the brown of your touring seat with the backrest cover? or is it a black? I can't tell from the video. I have the exact seat (touring) that you have in the video. Thanks. --Peter

@@peterpawlus8306 Yes, Peter, they matched the color perfectly. When you talk to him tell him you want the same one that Lon Lawrence in Deming, NM bought for his Vespa. Any good business should keep records of what they sent. I installed it myself but I had to buy an air stapler to get the staples back into that hard plastic. My hand-squeeze staplers didn't have enough power. I have bought several from that guy over the years so he certainly should have some records on me. I have one for the CT125 also that I didn't let go with the bike when I sold the bike. Utopia didn't want to get into making them for the CT125 because they didn't think there would be a market for them (and they might be right, although several guys on the forums were wanting one) but he sent me all the material I needed along with the backrest to make my own mount. I really should look for a market for it and get rid of it now.
