      It was really a junky machine. I sold it for what I paid for it because the prices went up on new ones, and I bought Honda Monkey. it's four times the machine, and about 4 times the price! LOL

      @@ccy8379 I would if you can afford it. I bought a used one but didn't save any money because at the time you couldn't find a new one anywhere and used ones were bringing new prices. It only had 800 miles on it. I wanted a 2022 model because of the 5 speed tranny and oil filter, but they were having a lot of trouble with transmissions burning up because the top two gears weren't getting oil. Honda was replacing the entire engine/transmission assembly on a lot of them, so I got a 2021 with a 4 speed and just a screen filter. It's a lot faster on the highway and lot more powerful off-road than the Chinese CT-70 clone even though they both have a 125cc engine. The Chinese one would top out about 35 mph and I can cruise all day at 55 on the Honda. The manual clutch instead of the automatic clutch on the CT-70 give it a lot more power and controllability. The Honda is also slightly bigger with a much better saddle for highway riding. It's one of my two favorite bikes, the other one is the new 2023 XR150. It's a lot like my old 1975 XL125 with no electronics. Analog speedometer and odometer and a carburetor with manual choke and the least expensive big name bike in America ($2971).

      It was good in the deep sand once I geared it down and put real knobby tires on it. But I recently sold it as my new Honda Monkey is a much better bike. It can do everything the Champion could do off-road, and it can cruise 55 mph (instead of 35 on the Champion). that 125 engine on the champion is really weak.

    • @spydie
      @spydie Před 2 lety

      @@peterpawlus8306 Yes, Peter, they matched the color perfectly. When you talk to him tell him you want the same one that Lon Lawrence in Deming, NM bought for his Vespa. Any good business should keep records of what they sent. I installed it myself but I had to buy an air stapler to get the staples back into that hard plastic. My hand-squeeze staplers didn't have enough power. I have bought several from that guy over the years so he certainly should have some records on me. I have one for the CT125 also that I didn't let go with the bike when I sold the bike. Utopia didn't want to get into making them for the CT125 because they didn't think there would be a market for them (and they might be right, although several guys on the forums were wanting one) but he sent me all the material I needed along with the backrest to make my own mount. I really should look for a market for it and get rid of it now.
