Her purring was a reference to her playing CatWoman in Batman way back in the day.
Came to say this. Eartha Kitt the legend.
Facts
Youngsters don’t know nothing about her being the Catwoman👍🏽
Facts Eartha Kitt the goat fr tho🔥 SANTA BABYYY
She was an absolute force, check her interviews. Amazing....
The BOOMERANG Soundtrack is one of the greats of the 90's..
A lot of babies were conceived on that soundtrack..
Ha Ha - Facts!
The lady who purred is ertha kitt, she was an ICON for years. She played Catwoman in the live action Batman show
Strang'e was a real model and was also fierce and pretty iconic herself
Halle Berry's character is portrayed so sweetly in this movie and she conveyed that demeanor really well
I don't care what people thought of Robin Givens back in the day, but you can't lie and say she wasn't beautiful back in the day in this, A Rage in Harlem and Blankman. ❤
You not lying 😮💨
Facts
Robin Givens was the SH*T!!!! I was jealous of Mike Tyson when he married her! I first saw her on an 80s show called Head of the Class!
She was and is beautiful but 🖕🏿her
Gold digger
I made this recommendation, I know she probably won't recognize all the high profile actors but its still a good movie
Right! The Fat Boys!!! Lol
she starting to more because she watched so many movies doing these reactions
Eartha Kitt played catwoman in the 60s. That’s her famous purr. When she was in her prime….I’m gonna leave it at that😂
@@Jaybeast5x yea we gotta let her learn the ppl same way we did, watch the classics! And she’s an early 20s commentator, these movies were released before she was born.
Halle Berry proved in this movie she is not just a beauty ... she is. She is great at her craft of acting, too.
Shes purring because she used to play Catwoman
The late Eartha Kitt
What a great reaction to a great movie!!! The older lady that was purring is Eartha Kitt. She played Catwomen on the old old Batman. She also talked as Izma on The Emperor's new groove.!!!
RIP Melvin Van Peebles, appears as the film editor. One of the few, Black directors in Hollywood. Fun Fact, John Witherspoon used to be a model when he was younger. Google the pics.
It's a nipple, cause I'm droolin lol
Strang’e is The Iconic GRACE JONES
Lady Elouise played by Eartha kitt played catwoman on the 60’s Batman tv show. So her purring was paying homage to that character. Fun fact: She also did the voice of Yzma in “The Emperor’s new Groove “ so the witchy tone to her voice has served her well.
If she hasnt watched Harlem Nights we gotta put that on the list
I thought she did this already
@@demitrisryles3811 She has.
Eddie Murphy was a comedian first !!! .. so this is his Adam Sandler .. making movies with his friends and putting everybody on !
Literally every person in this movie is iconic, even the ones you dont know
This soundtrack fire too💯🔥🔥🔥
This soundtrack is low-key legendary!
Both of the Toni Braxton's songs are my favorites on that soundtrack 🔥🔥🔥
Fun Fact: The two dudes that where trying to sell Marcus the jewelry out the briefcases, are the directors of the film. The Hudlin brothers.
Toni Braxton Featuring Babyface * Boyz II Men * Shanice * A Tribe Called Quest * Johnny Gill * Grace Jones * Toni Braxton * Aaron Hall Featuring Charlie Wilson * Kenny Vaughan and The Art of Love * P.M. Dawn * Keith Washington * and The LaFace Cartel Featuring: Damien Dame, Highland Place Mobsters, TLC, and introducing Toni Braxton
🎵
This 1 of the best movie soundtracks of all time
Ha Ha - Facts!!!
I was 4 years old when that movie came out. Damn! I love 90's black movies.
@MJ Hey just some history behind this movie. Most of the actors in this movie got there first big role in this movie…also Eddie Murphy financed this movie from his own pocket because Hollywood didn’t believe in black movies so this was his way to prove them wrong.
Enjoyed your reaction…especially you being younger generation. Btw I saw this movie in theatres w/ my parents when I was 10 years old…I still watch it & enjoy it in 2024😅
"Why is she purring? "
She played catwoman on the orriginal Batman tv show in the 60's. I think she was about 65 years old here.
Lela Rochon used to be bad back in the day. Sunshine
One of the best comedies of all time . Glad it crossed generations for you
Reacting to a classic, one of the best Eddie Murphy movies ever
Short hair Halle Berry was sooooooo beautiful 😍 😍😍😍😍😍
I agree
I Would Recommend To React “Blade 1,Blade 2 & Blade:Trinity”.
Loved this reaction. lol @ you realizing the title was foreshadowing the plot. One of my favorite movies, stellar cast and script!
This was Halle Berry’s 2nd or 3rd movie. I can’t remember if “Strictly Business” came out before or after. You need to watch Strictly Business also. She has been legendary ever since!
I recommend Strictly Business reaction too💯
Strictly Business came out first in 1991. Halle Berry first movie was actually in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever when she played Samuel L Jackson crackhead girlfriend! 🤣
Looveee Strictly Business
When you work in an office environment like that you need to know your employees names!
one of my fav black rom coms… I resonate a lot with Marcus so that says a lot about me😭
RIP John Witherspoon aka POPS
Bang Bang Bang
So glad you finally got to experience this masterpiece. I was laughing all the way with you. 😂 🔥
"Do they just have a bunch of comedians in this movie?"
(Cut to a bunch of comedians in this movie)
As a young kid I never understood the title of the movie, now I'm older I understand the movie's theme of🪃
Lady Elouise was also Ezma in Disney's Emperor's New Groove!
This movie is the reason I went into Marketing and Advertising. I completely romanticized the industry and thought it would be like this. I was so wrong. 😩 Grace Jones and Eartha Kitt; total icons and crushed their roles. Honestly the entire cast was amazing.
Grace Jones - Pull Up To My Bumper Geoffrey Holder - 7up The Uncola "Haa Ha ha ha haaa!!!
Yea i bet by now MJ loves older films better than new ones 😊
Depends on the genre. Superhero movies are better today and action movies are just as good today as back in the day
@@ScorpionLee1 The Raid movies and John Wick movies are great. Don’t forget the Mission Impossible movies as well. No 80s movies does gun fu better than the John Wick movies
A little irony, Eddie Murphy actually dated Halle Berry and Robin Givens briefly. Mike Tyson actuality brought up how Eddie Murphy tried to warn him about Robin Givens before he married her..
In recent years, Mike finally admitted that Robin wasn't lying about how he treated her...gold digger or not, that was too much
@@darkangel20403 yes, he owned not being the best husband with the drugs and women, but she told plenty of lies through their relationship. From cheating with Brad Pitts, faking a pregnancy, claiming she graduated from Harvard, to saying Mike punched her with a closed fist, but knowing how to not leave any bruises. Lol
She had a short fling with Eddie Murphy while she was dating Wesley Snipes. When Snipes found out, he knocked the hearing out of Berry's ear.
@@Tusc9969 smh, so Wesley made Halle partially deaf in her left ear because she had the audacity to DATE other people while being non-exclusive with him...WOW.
@@Tusc9969 nah, her and Eddie got together in '91. The year before she was with Wesley, but later started dating Christmas Williams. He was the one who exposed Wesley for being a woman beater.
Loved how you laughed a lot in this movie , might be my favorite rom-com. Classic.
"Je parle pour tout le monde!" ¡Hablo para todo el mundo!
She said this man … is weirdly shaped lmao. I have never heard someone say that before.
You got a good recommendation
MJ
GREAT reaction, analysis, and dialogue (This is one of my ALL-TIME favorite films, I've probably seen more times than the director, lol). And about Marcus's best friend getting upset that he was messing with a woman/Angela that he was really feeling, the reason why what Marcus did was not cool, is because it is an unspoken guy rule - If you know that your homeboy likes a chick, and they're hanging out, and they may (or may not) get things heated up, you NEVER step in between that (if you are a real friend), you give them space ("Especially" if you had a reputation like Marcus, and the other friend is not use to getting any woman - That made it hurt even more for him).
Shout out to STEVEN!..It was about time, lol One of my favorite movies
Best awesome classic MJ 💯💯💯💯
Wow, you're the first CZcamsr I have seen reacting to this classic lesser spoken about movie.
This was actually your best movie review. Highly enjoyed it!
Classic Movie
Another fact about Eartha Kitt ... she has a popular Christmas Song that is played every Christmas "Santa Baby" .. R.I.P. Legend!!
One of my absolute faves. BET made a series sequel to it in 2019. But only for two seasons.
You react to the best movies i swear
Don't screw your friends potential wife. Ask if she's got relatives ❤. I know we gotta enjoyed this one with you!!!
She said : "champagne for everyone !"
This movie is really awesome and funny !
If you want me to translate, i'm your man 😂😂😂
I had no business watching this at 3 years old 😂 but thank God I did .
The older woman name is Eartha Kitt And she played Catwoman in the 70s TV show Batman
60s
My favorite movie of all time
Yea but this movie is definitely a classic
There’s a such thing as “Bro Code” you don’t mess with your homie’s girl or exes. And when you know your boy likes a girl you don’t swoop in and take her from him.
You get a thumbs up just for reacting to this movie as many reactors dont and I cant figure out why. Its a classic!
Thank you MJ for reacting to this classic 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Haven't been able to watch any MJ videos in 3 weeks. Missed your smile and wow, Koda got huge! 😮
I got like 10 more videos to go! Lol 😅
On opening day, me and my crew went to see this film at like the 7:30p showing. It was sold out. We sat in middle of the theatre and the crowd was rowdy and hyped. This is my hometown movie house that always ran a little ghetto and had the local colorful characters of the neighborhood that gave us an audience participating movie audio commentary during and throughout the entire run time of the motion picture, feel me. You know what I'm taking about. The hood critics who talk to the screen and characters in the movie in real time like they can hear them or the events being projected out are actually happening. This has always been a movie going extra bonus feature going out to see a flick at my local theatre growing up and to this day, our regional homegrown film critics give their very vocal film analytics and play by play analysis breaking down the game film, whether you want it or not. Either way, it add a certain hometown local flavor to the proceedings. The viewpoints expressed are usually measured and carefully ruminated on with extra deep rooted consideration and a respectful aesthetic remove, yeah, nah, I'm just playing. The peanut gallery in the back say whatever the F they want when they want while you hear several 40s cracking open and they own snuggled in home dispensary. Bottomline: they always the funniest people in the house and without fail, say something at some point that brings the house down that inevitably is the thing I remember more than the movie.
So, at the end of Boomerang, Eddie goes to Halie Berry's work with his heart on his sleeve being all vulnerable and open and a man exposing himself raw to the woman he loves in a kinda groundbreaking moment in black cinema history where an icon like Eddie is daring to go there, be a strong man by daring to appear weak and heart compromised, guard down. Eddie starts his pleading speech and he didn't get out but two lines, and the last one we heard was: 'Baby, I can't breath without you' and, let me preface the following with I guess we as a particular gender that won't be mentioned here MEN! and perhaps hypothetically maybe certain ethnic audiences that shall go unidentified BLACK! But also one specific opposite gender type minority we can't specify at the moment, ahh hell THE SISTA'S and just the rest us hood cinema critical theorists there, back in the day of 1992, we wasn't the cultured enlightened cats all coached up now in society today, so the crowd just went full roast mode on Eddie, like heckling him crazy loud and just the sickest cap fest so fierce, it was like it went from watching a movie to suddenly rap battle. It went on like ten minutes. Like all the way to end credits. And as a reminder, watching the play back, the inciting incident that started this flash mob decent on an actor comedian on screen who can't hear us, (I think, it was so vicious, Eddie might'a felt it in his core all the way in LA), the reason for this hellfire of wrath his way: he was being openly vulnerable to a woman.
We come a long way people. Got a long way to go, no doubt, but, there has been progress.
At the time, ain't gonna lie: still don't know what was said between the characters or how they resolved it. No clue. But, I know what the audience said and regardless, honestly, the dunks and creativity was HELL-arious! I stand by the burns and slams. Especially the dude that yelled: out: 'Beverly Hills CUCK!!, M*****F***er!!!''
Bruh's pun game is strong.
“How to be a player” need to get done next 🗣️🔥🔥
Aye aye that’s miss Eartha Kitt!!! That’s catwoman right there!!!! Madame Zeroni.
Strang'ee is Grace Jones. "Vamp".
Wassup MJ always enjoy your videos and can't wait for this reaction 😊😊😊
Ertha was the original catwoman lol and does occasionally purrs in movies lol
ABSOLUTE CLASSIC
Eartha Kitt(Lady Elouise) was one of the most gorgeous women of her time.
This is One of my favorite movies
This is gonna be epic
The old lady is Ertha Kitt. She played catwoman in the old school Batman t.v show.
I believe Eartha Kitt was in her 60s here. She was very legendary
She played the original catwoman in the first Batman. Eartha Kitt is really the Michael Jordan of this ish. And she stood up for independent women, you'd like her interviews!
Great reaction... It was cool to revisit this classic... Salute Queen 👑
Another classic favorite of mine🙌🙌🙌
Great Reaction!!!!!!!!! You took me out there with this Classic 🎬
Great movie!
YOOO!!! Do 1 On The Movie Uncle Drew
It's funny seeing younger people look at this masterpiece lol
It's funny, David Alan Grier's character was trying to use the, im the nice guy role, to pull females, thought he was eventually getting the girl, but in reality he ain't getting nothing.
U gotta COORDINATE.... COORDINATE
Fun fact they put her watching Michael Jordan cause during that time she was rumored to be dating Michael Jordan
You said Lady Eloise is like an evil witch. You should definitely watch the emperors new groove if you haven’t already.
CATWOMAN REFERENCE!!
28:10 “yes she has pretty feet” 😆
Eartha Kurt played yzma in the emperor’s new groove
I love chitterlings too. They are so tender and with some apple cider vinegar , potato salad n greens yummy
That’s the legendary ertha kitt
she saw this before. yaw be dumb
See nobody reviews this one either great movie freaking hilarious . They had a lot of black celebrities . Not just comedians .
Marcus broke the Bro code by messing with berry chic.....even if they are friends, Shes off limits.....so many rules was broken in this movie.
nice job mj
i like boomerang is a classic 1992 movie eddie murphy and martin lawrence was hilarious you have john witherspoon on there
This movie was a cool one. At the time, this was considered an ensemble cast. Eddie was great as always, but this was around the time the critics started fronting on him. Robin Given was perfectly cast, mainly because of her previous marriage to Mike Tyson. It was good to see Eartha Kitt return especially after she was blackballed by mainstream Hollywood. David Allan Grier was always an under appreciated talent. His versatility was definitely something that helped many of the shows and films he was in. Although not a flawless film (which movie is?), this was definitely a classic to many.
Fun fact, this was directed by the same guys who made House Party.
Some would say Godfather 1&2 are flawless
The way Eartha Kitt was calling eddie's character name was the same way my old supervisor did me 😅 same name and everything 💀 Marcus Darling HRU today???
Amazing reaction, please do a reaction to Def Jam's How to be a Player.
I know you won't take a movie suggestions on here but you have to look at "Strictly Business" with Halle Berry first full movie
Great reaction
