Now days we don't see these types of films being put on the big screen and if we do get a majority Black cast, there is sure to be some trauma somewhere in there! The 70's-90's and even a couple from the early 2000's felt like the prime era for Black Cinema

Boomerang is my top 3 all time favorite behind Deep Cover & Tales From The Hood...To me, Boomerang was one of the best representation of excellence on screen for melanated people...The characters had cool jobs, spoke well, dressed well, the women were fly, and they were handling their own business...Marcus knew he messed up and Angela was smart for not moving back in with him after they made up...Going forward, Marcus would had to earn Angela's trust and respect again.
If you notice Eddie Murphy's filmography, whenever he did a movie with a Black ensemble cast, it was almost always Black Excellence. Coming to America, Harlem Nights, Boomerang, (Life might be the only exception) all showcased Black folks in a positive light, for the most part! I almost feel like Eddie Murphy doesn't get enough credit for that. I do love that they wrote Angela so well! At the first occurrence of disrespect, she was out of there! And she learned her lesson and was not moving back in with that fool! lol
The character of Angela should have gotten Ray Ray and Bo Bo to help her move her stuff right then and there so she didn't have to go back to Marcus' home. Realistically, she probably should have left him alone and look at it as a lesson learned. His hoe-ism is a character issue.
This movie really is one of the best that came out of The Black renaissance from the 90s (Tv and movies). It’s even better watching this movie as an adult. I was rooting for the women in this movie 👏🏾. So many beautiful Black women in this movie too 🥰

If Marcus was Jerrard then the movie would not upset so many women. Its a funny watch as a man who is married 23 years and counting. I do get some womens anger at this character and it is amusing but i enjoyed the reaction. Its a great film with great characters without a man dressed as a woman to tell a story that is relatable.

This film had a black excellence cast which most of the cat members were famous or well known. It wasnt eddie murphy with a bunch of unknowns. It sad we dont get enough of these type of black films with an all black ensemble cast and its a shame eddie kinda got stopped continuing these type of films he started with Harlem Nights to Boomerang and ended with Life which he managed to get done while doing the soft eddie movies he started to do to pay the rent.
I also feel like Eddie Murphy was a huge part of the reason that a lot of those star-studded movies were made. He made it a point to highlight comedians and put his comedian friends on. Now days I feels like many of these celebrities are in competition with each other and aren't for collaboration. But I'm also a Eddie Murphy fangirl so I could be biased lol

Then beginning with Coming To America it was a black cast from then on. But that incident he got himself in he went back to doing the stuff he did before coming to america and then family movies because they had something on him. Life was the last movie he got out there that was in line with boomerang and harlem nights. As for casting he also got his family members involved but more behind the scenes then in front of the camera with the exception of his late great brother charlie murphy. Like the wayans but in reverse.
You think they would do a good job remaking this? Hollywood has lost my trust when it comes to remakes but with the right team, they might be able to pull it off
When Angela opened her 👀 in Marcus's 🛏️ after he snuck in gave me goosebumps and still do with that creepy second music that proved 😢she was in pain waiting for him playing possum got him to be sneaky and he outsmarted himself she must've felt the vibration on the bed when he got in it . Angela was furious and from that moment on she was probably IS the first woman to confront him about his philanderous ways.

I came across this movie a year ago while going through movies with Hallie berry in it and loved it. It's refreshing and paints the black community in a successful light. I was born in 92 so I love looking at the fashion and style of the times. Just wondering how old are you? I just found your channel and love your reactions.

This film had a black excellence cast which most of the cat members were famous or well known. It wasnt eddie murphy with a bunch of unknowns. It sad we dont get enough of these type of black films with an all black ensemble cast and its a shame eddie kinda got stopped continuing these type of films he started with Harlem Nights to Boomerang and ended with Life which he managed to get done while doing the soft eddie movies he started to do to pay the rent.
I also feel like Eddie Murphy was a huge part of the reason that a lot of those star-studded movies were made. He made it a point to highlight comedians and put his comedian friends on. Now days I feels like many of these celebrities are in competition with each other and aren't for collaboration. But I'm also a Eddie Murphy fangirl so I could be biased lol

Then beginning with Coming To America it was a black cast from then on. But that incident he got himself in he went back to doing the stuff he did before coming to america and then family movies because they had something on him. Life was the last movie he got out there that was in line with boomerang and harlem nights. As for casting he also got his family members involved but more behind the scenes then in front of the camera with the exception of his late great brother charlie murphy. Like the wayans but in reverse.

I was 17 and with Carla Lewis (Carl Lewis younger sister). I was a complete gentleman with her and we definitely laughed at some of the scenes.
When Angela opened her 👀 in Marcus's 🛏️ after he snuck in gave me goosebumps and still do with that creepy second music that proved 😢she was in pain waiting for him playing possum got him to be sneaky and he outsmarted himself she must've felt the vibration on the bed when he got in it . Angela was furious and from that moment on she was probably IS the first woman to confront him about his philanderous ways.
I never understood why people do that! More than likely their partner stayed up very late waiting on them! They know you weren't there when they went to sleep so sneaking in makes absolutely no sense. Marcus better be glad Angela didn't do him like Brandy did Darnell in Thin Line lol
Absolute Classic ❤ I definitely watched it too young and appreciated it when I was older! Getting older means realizing the real “villain” and/or fool was Marcus and Jacqueline was only villainous when she tried to get back with him knowing he was with Angela. The cast is absolutely STACKED and so talented!
