      they sound great for live performance, I own 4 of them and for live they cut thru everything. for recording mmmeh. - also they break very easy, - for the price and sound they're a must if you're not a heavy hitter.

      i'm looking to buy new cymbals, but I really don't have much experience. I play heavy metal and often break cymbals. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I feel like I'm just not getting the right type.

    Those cymbals sound terrific. If I had some I would prefer the 18" Thin, 18" Med-Thin, and the 18" Trash Crash. My opinion about those cymbals is that they keep their sound and it would sound good in the studio or even gigs. The trash crash sounds very nice and cutting, I believe that cymbal has a nice washy tone once you go for a wash riding sound which sounds amazing for my purpose.

      The thinner the cymbal the darker the tone. I love my K Sweet crashes but i do have an S 20" trash crash. Moderate amount of distortion. It can almost be used as a main crash. Nice.

    I own the 18inch Medium Thin Crash. Overall not bad in sound, but its sound is similar to my Sabian B8 18inch Thin Crash. These being B12 I think is still close to the B8 Range. I think they should of jumped it to B15 Alloy. Getting it a a bit on the darker side.

    • @haydendraycott7897
      @haydendraycott7897 Před 7 lety

      Any of the S crashes would probably be fine, or anything from the A Custom series or the A series heavy crashes. You could also look at K Custom hybrids too, but they're not as bright. If you look beyond Zildjian, there are Paiste 2002s, Signatures, and RUDEs, Sabian AA and AAX, and Meinl Mb20, Soundcaster Custom, and Classics Custom Extreme Metal.

    • @G_Gr00v3
      @G_Gr00v3 Před 8 lety +2

      +Lj Johnson Exactly - the reason most rock guys break their crashes is not due to how thin they are, but rather (A) bad cymbal technique or (B) the wing nuts being diled down WAY too tighy

    • @ramenthenoodle_
      @ramenthenoodle_ Před 7 lety

      Jayson Plays Drums the A custom is a b20 cast cymbal, the S is a b12 sheet metal pretty sure. The A custom also has a different hole pattern.

    • @ancientskies8408
      @ancientskies8408 Před 7 lety

      Jayson Plays Drums I have the S trash crash thinking it would be similar to the A custom EFX but the S has a lot of high end frequencies. Chimey even but not in a bad way but also has a nice decay like a K crash. Zildjian did a great job expecially with the S trash crashes you get that attack of the A's the decay of K's and the white noise of a china. Great job guys.
