    I’ve had six heart attacks! My last was March 2018, then I found you Dr Berry, I stopped statins,metformin, plus quite a few other meds! last week after a diabetic review my diabetes is in reverse! I eat bacon daily, steak, duck, fish. Thank you Dr Berry for pointing me in the right direction!

      WOW, incredible! Congrats, I hope you continue on this healthy path!! Funny, I am 58, had semi high cholesterol for years. Tried multiple times to reduce it following my "stupid" Dr's guidelines. You know: Less Meat, cut back on Cheese, No butter....blah blah, the needle NEVER moved! Then I discovered Dr. Berry and a few other amazing Dr's here on the Tube. Then I cut back on my carb intake and eliminated ALL seeds oils and Wha-La! In three months my Cholesterol went down 35 points. Oh, and I switched Dr's, that guy was a stooge...haha

I am a slender Asian, 5'6", now 110 (was 120 before starting low sugar low carb and sort of Keto since May 2022), not my intention to lose weight though. I am prediabetic, after less than 3 months of new diet, Tri from 226 to 97, HDL same 63, A1C 6 to 5.8, LDL 144 jumped to 206 and Chol 252 dumped to 287. I ride my stationary bike daily for 30 minutes. My doctor advised me to take meds but I refused. I asked for an advanced Lipid profile test, I had to explain to her what that was. And she said Kaiser does not offer this test. If I really want it, I can have it done out of my pocket with those private lab test site. I agree that a lot of doctors need to explore and upgrade their knowledge out of text books.

      Interesting....as another slender Asian 6'2' and 170lbs, I have a similar experience. I had hypertension and probably prediabetes (I ate tons of carbs and chocolate, yes, I had a sweet tooth).
      I went LCHF diet (lost 3 inches of my waistline and got my blood pressure back to normal) and my total Chol went from below 200 to 274, LDL went up to 189, my HDL is pretty high 69, Triglycerides 64, CHOL/HDLC RATIO stays the same at 4.0 since my HDL has gone up to offset the increase in my LDL and total Chol.
      Seeing my high LDL and total chol numbers, my doctor freaked out and urged me to stop my LCHF diet.
      I told him, under the context of a low carb diet, the LDL and total Chol numbers are irrelevant.
      My waist to height ratio is 0.44, which is below 0.50 (good) and my triglycerides/HDL ratio of 0.92 (very good). There is no way my LDL are mostly the densed ones.
      In additions to all these numbers, both sides of my parents have no history of CVD. No stroke, no diabetes.
      I continue to live my best life while my PCP is fuming;)

    Oh Um- I was diagnosed with D type 2 ,.... 7.4 a1c after feeling super sleepy after eating food and seeing doc-- that was 3 months ago-HE gave me atorastin-- I listened to doctor berry and cut out all sugars ,crackers, grains, soy, corn, potatoes, rice and more- I started eating healthy fats,grass fed eggs and meat only, - after listening to 6 hours of Doctor Berry (while working on computer editing), I started what he said, NEVER felt hungry, and filled up every day- Even with Intermittent fasting I dont feel deprived- I drink grass fed butter and coffee, and 5 hours after a full 8 hours sleep, I eat once a day- I have never dieted in my life and never really paid attention to GMOS in foods and after starting this I have never felt better -I met with fatty liver doc, separate issue ) and he did my A1-c after only 3 months just to check? The fatty liver is effin gone-My numbers are 5,2 and I lost 34 of the 50 I was over weight! NO ONE can beleive it! My stomach went away- I thinks its carbs cut of course, BUT I also think it is stopping all GMOs and chemicals in food! I threw out so much in my fridge that I DIDNT know had msg and other bad stuff- I DONT feel deprived and love filling up with non tainted food! Presto IT WORKED DUDE! The last question I asked 3 months ago, (Never got an answer with Dr Berry) was "can i still eat ezikeal bread? I decide to stop that as well! I also stopped bad OILS---I only have extra virgin olive as well as avocado! I also have stopped lectins in my food and paying attention to Deuterium,(added D-3 10,000 and magnesium supplements-- and making sure grass fed- Its a buck more, and 2 bucks more, but DUDE I feel great -Not counting weight loss and reversing diebetes, I feel clear and happier and more focused! The food industry has tought us won! I stoppe Atorastin! Thanks you ! 3 months! btw-The only carb i am eating is a few strawberries and blueberries on occasion!

    Doctors get butt hurt when you let them know you’ve researched stuff. It’s like they get their diploma and then decide to not learn anymore. Really sad that they would put that much expense and effort and time into 8 to 12 to 16+ years of training only to cut it off there because they are now a “know what’s best” doctor. And the remarks they make assuming they know health and there is no way you do because you don’t have that framed piece of paper like they do.

Now Im a nobody housewife, but even Im smart enough to research stuff. I knew that a statin can raise calcium levels, but she is still trying to figure it out. Now after a long and heated butt chewing to my husband, He is going to listen to me now. also he is a diabetic, but thinks he can still eat his snack garbage because he is on januvia and metformin. I told him this was just the first of many issues he will have taking statins and not being more responsible with his health. Im pretty persuasive....so I believe he is going to start doing better. Thank you, Dr Berry. My results came back before my internist talked to me about my taking a statin drug. Granted, my LDL has been elevated so I new that my results would still be elevated, but I’ve been working diligently on lowering my A1C. My HDL is good. When my results came back, my A1C came back a little lower, n I was excited. Took me 2 months. So I know that with more time, I am confident that I can lower it further. My LDL of course was high, but I have been inactive in the last 2 months since my foot surgery. Once I get up to speed again, I can get back on my daily dog walks of 4-5 m/d. This is in addition to my other workouts. My physician knows I have an aversion to taking meds. I always err on the side of caution and try to ‘fix’ the problem with lifestyle and diet modifications first.

    • @troysilvester5791

      If you subscribe to what Dr Berry is saying, why do you focus on LDL? I am 100% on board with this vid, and have an impaired diabetic, obese 71 yr old wife. She had a brain aneurysm rupture 17 years ago, and has been impaired ever since, cognitively and functionally. Lucky she is still here... I have been on the low carb train for at least two decades, but distractions and work as well as being a full time care giver have inhibited my dedication, opting for quick and easy instead of healthy. But at one point in late 2019 I got thing going very well and I saw what is possible I got her A1c down form nearly 8 to 5.4. Then started this cycle of hit and miss that is my normal. She is now at 7.1. I know I can reverse both her weight and diabetes I have already seen that. Just have to find the resolve again. Good luck to you!

      Agreed. LDL is not a number that we should be overly concerned.

    • @HKships4TeresaTeng2
      @HKships4TeresaTeng2 Před 2 lety

      @@TheHoth1 If the Triglycerides are low and the HDL is high, the high LDL number may indicate that the LDL particles are large which present little or no risk to contribute to a stroke or heart attack. When Doctors lump all the numbers together, they alarm themselves and their patients about a stroke or a sudden cardiac arrest if statin is not taken. I have refused to take a statin for several years as my Triglycerides continue to be lower and lower, and HDL higher and higher. Doctors and Cardiologists who were trained 30 years ago need continuing education and an open mind for new research and discoveries in order to guide their patients to good health. Sometimes I think the Doctors are either too lazy to learn new things or too proud to admit their mistakes. Perhaps they simply don't know, even with their good intentions.

The discussions get heated! I want causation not symptoms and pills. Not totally against meds when you’re in a crisis they can save a life. My primary care Doctor would not honor my request for some test. So I went to the test facility and they told me that even though I had really good insurance and they would even let me pay out of pocket they could not perform the test without a Doctor referral! My local hospital has a great staff, which is very important for patient morale, but the only part of my diet they really focused on was sodium, and a distant second was saturated fat. Carbohydrates weren't even a topic of discussion. What's interesting is that the negative effects of sodium (increased blood pressure) can be countered by potassium, but that never came up either. I don't blame the staff, because orders/data flows from the top down. Almost no one gets enough RDA of potassium (4,700 mgs).

    I have CHF. Found out 21 years ago at age 27, when I was 361 lbs. Diagnosed diabetic the next year. Started low carb ( Atkins Induction ) in 2011, and moved along ( on/ off ) to Keto, then Carnivore this year. Down to 226.. 70 more to go to not be obese/overweight. My A1C should be in the low 5's when tested next. My tris are 106, and I am walking and working out. Low BP is my newest issue. Not sure how to test for LDL p, or CRP, but I think if I can I will get my cardiologists to do so.
    Not sure if I will still be at risk if I get all these problems solved, because I do have a bad mitral valve, but if a patient with CHF can get most of these taken care of with diet, then healthier people should be able to as well. A major problem is they put people like me on a " diabetic diet ", and it is HARDER than Carnivore, because you always feel like you are hungry. The advice they give, is sure to end in failure. Carnivore is working though!

    I recently went carnivore about two months ago, because my eczema was really getting in the way of my life! Everything was fantastic for about a month, then every lateral area on my body (save my face and feet) went bananas with a seriously itchy red rash. Nothing helps it, and yesterday I went to the dermatologist to get some more info. We haven't received the results of my blood test yet, and we did a punch biopsy (of the rash on my shoulder), but based on the presentation of my rash, he thinks it might be AplhaGAL :( But I've never been to Virginia and never been bitten by a Lone Star Tick (which resides mostly in Virginia)!
    Any insights? I'm an art teacher and I start back up next week, how I would love to be rash free soon! Anyhow, if you don't see this message, that's just how it is :) Either way, THANK YOU for being such an encouragement for carnivores et al, and all the amazing healthy lifestyle advice you give! God bless you and your family and practice! - Alina

I do have some cucumber, onion or tomato, lettuce occassionally. And my psorises has not yet improved. And i seemed to break out in rashes all over. I am thinking my body may darned well may be PURGING bad stuff that was deep within. I am just gonna wait and see what happens. I even ended up with ringworm, which I have NEVER had in my life. My diet was high in carbs and i believe i had an issue with candida. I am thinking my body is purging it. Yesterday, became so miserable and ate carbs all day. Digestive system is a mess and I feel HORRID. Ready for a burger and a brand new day of carnivore and feeling MUCH better!

    With hopes they will quick trying to get me to stay on statin. I got a 90 day vacation from this drug and don’t intend to go back on them.

    I don't miss the cigarettes I used the three step nicotine patches along with the nicorette inhalator and I still enjoy one cartridge in the inhalator every evening, much healthier, cheaper it's a no brainer listen to Dr Berry and quit smoking.

    Thanks, Dr. Berry for all your valuable, healthy info!! Do most doctors not even look at new studies?? I'm TRYING to follow a very low carb diet, with mostly carnivore, but I still fall to temptation sometimes!! But even with that my doctor let my stop my metformin for type 2 diabetes in June, but I have to return after 4 months for them to recheck my A1C!! If I continue what I'm eating, even when the temptations are brought into my home, I am expecting a great result. And I am finding that the better I feel after struggling with fibromyalgia and many other health issues for decades, that it becomes easier and easier to just say NO THANK YOU! to temptation!! Thanks so much for all your info and encouragement!! You have been a HUGE help in improving my life!! God bless you!!! ❤️🤗🙏

    Love Dr Berry's advice! For the last year I've been following a strict regime of Keto combined with IMF (was largely spurred on due to a high (494) score I received on a CAC test.) The good news is that I've lost 71 pounds....and my blood markers are largely vastly improved. Notably, my A1c has fallen from 8.0 to 5.9 (wow) and my HDL has increased, daily glucose tests have become unnecessary, blood pressure normalized, and months ago I stopped taking Metformin. The one concerning area though for me...is that my Trig score shot up from 176 to 502. I expected that to go in the other direction, as that would be the normal Keto outcome. I've seen it suggested that if you are losing fat fairly quickly, you are "activating" the stored fat/trigs, getting those into the blood stream, and it can raise your trig score in the short run....I'm hoping that's the case, but I'll check my numbers again in 60 days. Anyone have any other thoughts as to why trig scores might go up if one is being supremely faithful to a Keto/IMF protocol?

    Since March 2022, I’ve lost 53 lbs. #1: Intermittent fasting, eating once per day, no snacking. Meals are very low in carbs. #2. No sugar, including high sugar fruits and vegetables. #3. No wheat products. #4. Increased daily activity. My goal is to lose 60 lbs. and yes, I even cheated a few times. My high blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol numbers are way down and I am weaning off of my meds with my Doctors consent. If not for these videos, I would still be trying weight watchers or those stupid slim-fast products. Dr. Berries advice really works if you can stick with it!

    You are the greatest Dr Berry. Sadly, I know much more about health by listening to you and others like you throughout the years then many or most doctors in my small town with the huge expensive medical hospital complex that most of us who live here know sucks. In fact, I was told that a heart patient here was bumped off his scheduled surgery slot in favor of a doctor from the medical complex in question who needed heart surgery!!! Can you imagine? WHY WOULD ANY INTELLIGENT CREATURE LISTEN TO A DOCTOR WHO CANNOT PREVENT HIS OWN HEALTH ISSUES? I hope the heart patient takes the "imposed" down time to investigate his condition for himself. He just might be able to reverse it by eating the proper human diet (as well as targeted supplementation to speed things along).

    Testimonial. My husband ate like a teenager into his 40s, but normal weight and very active. The hypertension began in his mid-40s (I refused to let him take statins) and a creeping A1C as he reached early 50s. In response to the A1C he devoted himself to keto and controlled that A1C. Good for him. Jump ahead 4 years. Last winter he started feeling angina, he didn't know that's what it was at the time, in his heart. We, on our own, went in for a couple's heart scans. Yep, he had massive calcification. I had zero, 0, zilch, nada calcification by the way. Tomorrow my husband undergoes a triple bypass. My advice? Don't be like my husband and wait until things start going south to eat right. You can not undo 50 years of diet in 4 years. I have felt a few twinges of guilt these past months in making him avoid statins. These studies keep proving I was right so I let go guilt. He's on those statins now since finding out about the artery disease and I'm not sure yet how I feel about that. My own diet? I've been a fan of all the low carb diets since my 20s starting with Atkins and now a strong ketovore who has many carnivore only days.

    • @dmmcmah1
      @dmmcmah1 Před 2 lety +1

      Your story gives me pause. I'm seeing several people saying they were on Keto and then ended up having massive calcification. Also statins DO reduce incidence of heart attacks and strokes. I am hoping that people getting calcification after Keto were already far along on that path, but more research is probably needed. I had a calcium scan in 2016 and had a 0 but your situation makes me think I need to get another one.

      @@dmmcmah1, I've been low-carb/keto way longer and my score is ZERO across the board. This man ate a lunch of ramen every day for decades. His other meals weren't much better despite my efforts. He also ate ice cream 3 or more nights every week. His mother had bypass and half her brothers and sisters did too. There is a lot of blame in his habits and genetics to go around, but one of them is not his recent keto diet. His heart showed signs of a very slow but stead progression. This started in his 40s or earlier, not 4 years ago.
