    I'm a 62 Year old Retired Navy Seabee/Sniper. I saw one of Dr. Ken Berry's videos on the Carnivore diet 3 months ago. I only wanted to lose my gut i weighed 260 pounds at 6foot 2. I eat 7 eggs every morning, i eat costco ribeye steak for lunch and one ribeye steak for dinner. I went cold turkey and cut all carbs and sugar completely all out. Three months later i'm 215 pounds and getting back my 6 pack abs that i had as a Navy Seabee from 1978-never felt better and my Doctor is against what i'm doing.       Awesome. Feels like the most powerful act of rebellion today is to take back your own health, ignore the vast majority of "health professionals," and sock it to the food industry by cutting processed poison out of your life. There's not a lot of money to be made out of healthy people, and strong, free-thinking folks are much harder to manipulate. No wonder that the next plans of the carbon zero lobby involve banning meat.

    I grew up in Florida, my dad was a big fisherman we’d go fishing almost every weekend and feast out that evening. It was always something, salt water, crabbing off the pier at night, scalloping, fresh water fishing. It was a real treat if we got some roe. I’d always watch dad clean them and look to see if there was any roe inside. Those were the days. Good memories

    A few years ago I sat through one of those motivational speeches given by a guest speaker at a company AGM. The speaker was the CEO of a company that makes granola bars and other 'healthy snacks' here in Australia. The company had recently launched a new granola bar that happened to contain blueberries. Sales were bad, so the marketing team got together to see how they could boost sales. Some bright spark noted that the product contained blueberries, which are an alleged super food, so all they did was write SUPER FOOD! on the packaging and lo and behold, sales went through the roof. The speaker told us this as though we should all be impressed, but really all they did was reveal how empty and shallow these food manufacturers really are, and how gullible we all are. This trick could never work with real super foods because they don't come in boxes.

      In the 1990s “low fat” labeling was the rage. I picked up a can of condensed tomato soup “full fat” and compared to the same brand “low fat “ labeled soup. The only difference was one stated nutritional information for full fat milk added when heating and the other stated nutritional information using low fat milk added when heating. I realized then it was just labeling slight of hand.

      Yeah it's pretty bad in Australia. When I was growing up, for breakfast it's pretty much card board box soaked in sugar and milk, then you go to school and for lunch the canteen would sell you chips, mini pies and instant noodles. But if your parent can be bothered, you get the healthy option of peanut butter in starch brick, topped with jam, honey and maybe with a side of sugary fruits. I hope kids nowadays get some better stuff but I doubt it.

    just before covid I was 271 pounds. I said to myself, enough is enough. I listened to Cywes, Fung, and Berry. Cut out most carbs. I eat mainly eggs, dairy, meat, and some non-starch veggies. 205 now and loving it. Tri/Hdl down from 4.5 to 1.2. Never going back.

      I started my new keto life in the early days of covid also. I was eagerly waiting to experience the "keto flu" that I heard so much about, so when I got a sore throat and fever two weeks in, I thought OK, wow, this must be it. But no, it was actually covid!

      @@KenJackson_US thanks for sharing your experience. Some people have different experiences and I wondered about others. I've been as sick as a dog, the last week, the carb withdrawal is real. Pain, nausea, headaches, craving, insomnia, and more. And everytime I add in some carbs, increase my magnesium (electrolytes, really) I feel improved. So I'm easing into it by tapering down the carbs and that has helped tremendously. I feel really hopeful again to turn my health around.

      @@coolbreeze4576 Hang in there. It will get better. I too suffered physically when I changed my diet from the SAD to low carbs. For me it was joint pains, fatigue, headache, sleep issues that lasted a solid week before gradually improving. Good luck.

    20 years ago I was new in the Americas and I watched the Oprah show. She said I needed 11 servings of grains. I could not eat all that much but I increased my grains. I wondered how anyone could eat all that! About 8 years later, I was diagnosed with celiac disease.

      Correct. If people only realized how corrupt he made the medical industry.

    I eat almost solely beef (Have been salting to taste), eggs, bacon, sardines, oysters, (Edited: I no longer eat olives or cook with EVOO) and salmon (sometimes poultry), and certainly no grains, sugar foods or drinks, and do not use or eat anything with vegetable oil for about 2 months now and I must say: I feel physically far better than before, with more energy, and having greater mental clarity, and also lost 23 pounds so far (UPDATE 10/30/22: 80 pounds and counting) (started at 316 lbs). To me, your knowledge on the content is nearly if not completely unparalleled and I wholeheartedly appreciate who you are and what you do. Thank you Dr. Berry!

      @fractal melody Keep going, congratulation, I have been almost the same foods for almost three years. I'm down 216 lbs after a lifetime of being ultra morbidly obese, most of my excess skin and white hair is gone, and at 57 years old, I have muscles definition everywhere!!!!

    I'm 52 years old and have been eating 2 eggs every day for at least 40 years and my coronary artery calcium score was close to 0 when I had it done last year. I have had high cholesterol and LDL for at least 20 years. Eggs are the healthiest food

      @@user-sl3zv8cq9k I once only ate 8 hard boiled eggs one night and noticed in the morning I can walk down the stairs with zero stiffness and then went to the gym with no carbs for 24 hours and was shocked that I could run and lift weights for 2 hours.....all without carbs.

      what i would like to put into the comments also:
      We all know grains are bad because they raise blood sugar levels, ergo insulin is released, which deplaces the sugar into liver or muscle tissue.
      Fast forward my father (52) has fatty liver disease due to high carbohydrate intake. ive told him for years pls focus on proteins/fats. Ofcourse the docs didn't say cut the carbs, so i told him.
      He was quite ok with my arguments (cutting carbs, fasting, high water intake). I hope he sticks to it.

    Thanks Ken. Here in Ireland we are very lucky to have such and abundance of organic grass fed meats and poultry and eggs available as well as being surrounded by oceans full of the best seafood in the world yet we have an obesity epidemic. The worst in Europe. People work ridiculous hours, eat frozen and take away foods. Insane amounts of carbs. It’s terrible to watch. We are constantly told to eat less meat and eggs and dairy and try to have one or two vegetarian/vegan days per week. I feed myself and my kids bacon, eggs, meat, dark greens, peppers, kefir, sauerkraut, cheese everyday and my kids never miss school due to illness. Both my daughters and me and my wife did not get Covid despite everyone we know getting it. I’m rarely ever sick or lethargic. I do indulge sometimes in chocolate or crisps as do my kids but the way I see it. A little of what’s bad won’t do too much harm when you have a solid foundation. Thanks for the videos.

      Pork skins make a nice snack if you feel you must have those crunchy chips, and they come in different flavors. Duck cracklings are also said to be delicious, but they're not widely available, at least where I live.

    We raise chickens and sheep, so I was sooo happy to hear you say pastured eggs and liver. I took one of our sheep livers and shredded it in the food processor and froze in an ice cube tray. Any time I make ground meat I sneak in a couple cubes of liver. I absolutely love our rich orange eggs, too. 😍

      Thank you! Lamb liver is something way more palatable than beef liver. I tried beef liver and even minced or ground up into ground beef I just couldnt stomach it.

    I wish I could find a family doctor as honest as you. My last one would quote AMA protocols in treating me and hated any natural or holistic medicine. Now if I see AMA or ADA (American Dental Association) approved I ask myself how much money bought those approvals.

    One of the better videos on this subject sir. I especially am glad you mentioned bioavailability which is a major pain, and leads the support for a natural source of nutrients when possible. I never thought phytonutrients were essential. It's easy to know this as even webmd (picked this as commonly known) states "Phytonutrients aren't essential for keeping you alive, unlike the vitamins and minerals that plant foods contain. But when you eat or drink phytonutrients, they may help prevent disease and keep your body working properly." like most things in scientific journaling, and media sources everyone is presenting for the sole intent of making money and/or wanting to keep the I'm-right-your-wrong challenge everyone so dearly loves these days.

    I tell people that canned sardines are the perfect food for emergencies. They require no refrigeration, they don't need to be cooked to be eaten and they come in a serving size that can be eaten at one sitting. I buy then in spring water so my dog can eat them and she loves them

      @@igloozoo3771 I like Season Sardines in Water, wild caught, no salt added. I get them at Walmart and Smith's/Kroger. Can add your own salt. The Chicken of the Sea in water has more of a fishy taste imo.

      I just buy from any store that sells them. I don't buy them packed in oil as that oil is probably not of good quality. I usually buy packed in spring water. This way in an emergency this can be fed to my dog who seems to thrive off this and don't have to worry about the sodium. I even pour the liquid into her food. Look around for sales and prices. Find a bargain and stock up.

      I haven't been able to buy any canned sardines in Europe that don't taste absolutely disgusting...I used to like them when I was young, but they taste nothing like it!

      I've always loved my tinned Sardines and have eaten them almost daily since I started to cook for myself as a teenager. I think eating the Sardines while my brain was still developing helped my intelligence level. It's not an ego thing, just a fact that my brain power is far higher than any of my four siblings. And I never said that, it was them that told me, even teased me for it, probably out of jealousy. I often wondered why I was so much more intelligent than any of my siblings and parents, like where does it come from. Fact is, you are what you eat. There's nothing 'special' about me, I just eat the proper human diet and my body responds accordingly. Sardines are dirt cheap here in the UK. There are places where I can buy a tin for 37p. I always buy Sardines with the bones included and always held in spring water.

    I agree 100%. ... however I indulge in micro greens, onions, garlic, craft distilled spirits, dark chocolate, fatty fruits (olives, avocado, coconut) and occasional berries in season within my 98 percent carnivore diet. I eat them cause enjoy them, not cause I expect them to supplement my meat based nutrition. I only hope it doesn't block the uptake of nutrition. Glad you put out content that challenges the status quo.

    Love how straight talking you are about important health issues. I believed the hype about dark chocolate as a superfood and have spent a lot of money on chocolate that is over 70% cocoa. So now I know it’s a waste - I’ll eat eggs, liver, mussels, etc instead.

    Very nice lesson on food. I have cut out process food in a box and have been eating eggs, liver, sardines almost every day. In four weeks I have been sleeping better and much more focused over the day. Not to mention I dropped 12 lbs. Thanks for the great videos.

    I find it fascinating that apart from the fish eggs, I eat the other four on a regular basis and none of the super foods listed. Just hope it doesn't catch on or my shopping will get rather expensive

    Been no sugar, low carb since July 2021. Down 35lbs. so far.
    I can't believe that all those years I started my day with oatmeal and honey, only to be continually frustrated with my A1C numbers being out of wack.
    The numbers are dialed in now.
    No more thyroid pill in the morning.
    Plantar fasciitis is gone, right foot fungus also nearly gone.

    I'm going to argue a bit about chocolate prices. Dark chocolate is expensive because cacoa is more expensive by weight than dairy and sugar. About it's nutritional value, I won't argue. As to it's emotional value, I'm going to have to say cheating with chocolate is better than any other kind of cheating. lol And since it is an occasional treat, I want my expensive, high end favorites! On a side note, I ate a grape the other day and couldn't believe how sugary it tasted. It was candy!

    I LOVE mussels, but discovered 40 years ago that I must be allergic to them. I got gastrointeritis with very severe pain in my gut for 3 days until I decided to go to the hospital. Next couple of times I ate them, I had vomiting until dry heaves, which made me realize I better stay away from them. 20 years later I tried them to see what would happen, and it wasn’t as severe, but they did make me spend time on the toilet. Knowing how healthy they are, I may give them another try, especially since I know it will be worth the discomfort, especially since I am now 3 weeks on ketovore. Thanks for caring and wanting to help humans get better health!!

    Manuka honey is a great topical antibacterial and I know this from personal experience. My mother had massively ulcerated legs due to lymphedema. She also had a hospital acquired superbug in her ulcers which was confirmed by lab tests. Her doctor, nurses and I used every antibiotic and treatment. We tried topical manuka honey, pure, from NZ, for six weeks and the ulceration began to decrease and skin began granulating. This treatment was under medical supervision and coupled with pain relief and very strict hygiene protocols. After having such bad ulcers and tissue death, amputation was spoken of, her legs healed. She had awful scars and dead tissue can’t regenerate, but her legs healed and her health improved and she lived with much less pain and was more ambulant. Eating it? Well after using it in that way, somehow I don’t fancy it.

      Honey works well for treating wounds on people and animals. Used it on severe barbed wire wounds from a horse getting tangled in discarded fence. Those deep wounds with care and Honey healed to leave only faint scars.

    Thank you Dr Berry for exposing the dark chocolate lie! When I first heard it being touted as helping to prevent heart problems, I started to believe it, and began eating more and more of it. It actually did more harm than good, with all the sugar and additives in it. I finally came to my senses after quite a while.

      There are some dark chocolates that have little added sugar. For example, Lindt 85% dark chocolate would be better than Hershey’s Special Dark.

    Yeah, but I like dark chocolate and I treat myself with stevia sweetened every once in a (long) while. I’m primarily carnivore 2mad, but I never want my diet to be written in stone or make me feel deprived in any way. That’s a recipe for rebellion in me. That said, I’m not fooling myself that dark chocolate has magical health properties. :)

Eating liver, sardines, or oysters was essentially a periodic ritual of ours since my sisters and mom didn't like any of those except the eggs.

      Just be sure not to eat liver more than once per week. Too much liver in the diet can cause vitamin A toxicity and is high in cholesterol. It can cause ulcers and other serious health issues. Men have no way to get the excess iron out of their system unless they donate blood, women have get rid of it once per month if you know what I mean. The doctor should explain the risks of what he is promoting.

      Pork liver is delicious too, you can stir fry it with cucumber, a classic favorite dish of Chinese families. Livers can be marinated and then heat it up with garlic and green peppers, also super tasty. Fish roe is great to try on top of sushi and oyster is too, you can order the baked one with cheese at a lot of Japanese restaurant as an appetizer :)

    I don't eat dark chocolate because it's a superfood, I eat it because it makes me happy and it has less sugar than milk chocolate. Same with kale, not great as far as green vegetables go but makes delicious low-carb crisps when roasted with olive oil and salt, excellent for a keto snack with a nice texture.

You think someone will save a person who belives in jesus but still behaves like everyday person?     I've been watching Dr Berry since 2017 after my 1st stroke (of 3) and he has helped me through so much healing by dietary controls that no one else has been able to do!! I will be forever grateful of his message and videos. You also helped me discover an allergy to salicylates which has given me clues to my additional strokes and even a left leg amputation. If I would have known sooner, they may not have happened. I was watching another doctor who said juicing would help clean my arteries to prevent future strokes, when they most likely compounded my allergy by "overdosing" on concentrated salicylates, oxalates, and all the other vegetable compounds by harming instead of helping. I have "lovingly" nicknamed salicylates "vitamin soap." The vegetables I was juicing with are high in them. I bet if more people heart them labeled as that, they would pay more attention to what they are eating. Please keep bringing us more videos and please stay humble. These recent videos have been a bit more of a cocky attitude.

    Genius! Eastern Europe. My grandmother lived 90years with 10 kids. WWII. Lived in terrible conditions compared to what we have today. Until now, none of the kids have lived over 80, while some of them have a great social status. In the same village a lot of those have lived over that age. They never seen bananas, avocados, kale etc, only garlic/onions/potatoes. Eggs, milk/diary and fat animal products were the base, mixed with those vegetables.

All receipes for dealing with so called "diseases" (symptoms in reality) were made with/from plants. And that's for thousands of years, all over the world were they are available.

    You r spoke in higher cholesterol, but it’s a high triglyceride level that’s the question.
    But also the labs we check or rather fail ti check?
    For their yrs health insurance assessment , get a hold of the questions they ask you:
    Please speak to what’s out there? One has to check
    “I eat 5-7 veggies per day.”
    “ I only have red meat once a week”.
    I excercises and do strength training 2-3 times per week.
    “ I do not smoke and get a health ministry credit answering this question correctly”
    I lied about all questions filled them out and “ played their game”
    I was given a splashing “STAR “ emoji.
    I walked away completely disheartened.

    I like the way he gives his criteria for a super food that alone is really helpful...I think a lot of people like to rationalize that dark chocolate is a super food and unfortunately some brands have a lot of processed sugar...I am not doctor but I really feel good after eating pomegranate seeds, maybe it is all just in my head but I feel like I have more energy...Also think that one of the benefits of Kale is the fiber ...Anyway I appreciate the info!

      It is not just in your head - people in Orient are eating a lot of pomegranate and they are healthy and slim. So, it is good, but only because the food industry tries to get money on that fruit , it is not bad.

    For low sugar chocolate, I buy cheap bakers chocolate, melt it with a touch of butter and sweeten myself with monk fruit and erithrotol, sometimes add chopped almonds, pour onto parchment and then chill. easy peasy, freezes well and much less expensive

      I do this but add extra cocoa powder. Also use organic coconut oil sometimes in place of butter

      Just buy normal chocolate in promotions when it was about to expire, trust me, its better than making anything you make at home, and cheaper, fuck stivia and eritritol.

      I was so lucky to find a Keto Dr that is in close proximity to me in Arizona, Dr Adam Nally…….he actually does his research where most Drs don’t , he’s even been interviewed by Dr Berry in 2019 …..look him up on CZcams

    As a 20 yr nurse, I preached the value of whole grains, vegetarian diet and fiber…2 stents later, yo-yo dieting for years and all kinds of inflammatory issues. My nephew introduced me to carnivore. I had to try a few times before I found my groove, but 40 days into ketovore and I’m down 20 lbs/2 sizes and feeling awesome. And my annual labs are AHHMAZING!! No statins, b/p 110s over 60s. Cut way down on coffee cause I wake up feeling good! Thank you to Drs Berry, Fung, Cywes and more.

    The problem with “nutrient dense” high fiber plant foods is that humans with health problems, damaged guts, cannot extract these vitamins/minerals in any significant amounts. We just end up damaging out sickly guts further with indigestible fiber, oxalates & other expensive superfoods and feeling worse. Just spend your hard earned money on foods your body can actually easily digest & get more nutrients that way. Thanks Dr. Berry for speaking the truth…

      Human with seemingly no health issues also have problem with those.
      It's just not obvious.
      Therefore we continue to eat them until suddenly there is an obvious problem.

      This!! I wish this was more widely known.
      I was one of the many with health problems who turn to nutrient dense 'superfoods' to try and get better.. I had to learn the hard way how damaging this was to my already leaky gut!

      Wrong I have ulcerative colitis and I'm in remission on a plant based diet very high carb blood work is fine and I'm on no meds before while eating meat and eggs I would have 20 plus bloody bowel movements a day.

      @@kotababy411 Sorry about your UC battles, we all are on our own journeys to improving our health. Carbs & high fiber superfoods aren’t the same thing. Green powders loaded with fiber + various “superfoods” & indigestible fibers like acacia added to “Keto-friendly” foods to lower net carbs are some of the things I was referring to. Everyone has to find their solution that works for them, but it’s not wrong for me to express my opinion that overdoing these superfoods thinking it will solve your problems is expensive and mostly counterproductive.

    I've always found it interesting that in past millennia the first peoples in northern coastal locations thrived by eating oysters and mussels as they had very limited ability to catch fish and virtually no vegetables in their coastal environment

      Florida has shell mounds near at least its Atlantic coast, not sure about the Gulf coast. The natives must have eaten a lot of oysters and such back in the day.

      Yeah, well Jesus and people back in Bible days ate bread all the time. Grains. The only reason the grains aren’t healthy now is because of being processed and all the pesticides and stuff. All cultures have eaten bread since forever

      @@dawn2508 - not all cultures, they are still some hunter-gatherer tribes in the world that don't eat bread even nowadays. I think the research has shown that when people switched from hunter-gatherer diets to grain based agricultural diets, the average health has collapsed. It has taken thousands of years, until the 20th century, for average height of people to reach the pre-agricultural levels again in Europe. Of course processed grains with pesticides can be even worse than what people have eaten in the past but even the best grains out there are not very nutrient dense and quite pro-inflammatory. It's still a relatively new food in human diets in evolutionary terms and our bodies haven't fully adapted to it.

    2 of the non-SuperFoods, Manuka honey & pomegranates do have specific medicinal issues/qualities.
    Pomegranates, unlike oranges but like grapefruit, directly affects a critical liver enzyme used by many of our pharmaceuticals that increases or decreases blood levels of specific drugs. I use grapefruit or pomegranates to allow me to maintain therapeutic levels of carbamazepine with about 2/3rds of my prescribed dosage. I have just begun pureeing whole grapefruits, since the rind and seeds have this important liver metabolite, too. I believe the whole fruit has a lower carb load than just the juice since the peels carbs are all fiber, and I can get the added liver & bile effects through its increasing my bile flow and biliary bile acid output.
    And Manuka honey, where the bees feed off of Leptospermum species, has an additional anti-bacterial/yeast protective quality, that ALL REAL HONEYS already share. It is being used in US clinics for a most effective protective wound care. Most honeys are medicinally useful due to the enzymatic production of hydrogen peroxide, along with high viscosity, low Ph and the high sugar content. But Manuka derived honeys can perhaps be as much as 100X as powerful in protecting wounds through a non-H2O2 method. Bees naturally include plant powers as they turn nectar & pollen into food for their babies and ward off what potential infections lurk everywhere. But all honey is already anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. And other plant species may certainly be as or even more medicinal, without national business interests to support them. Of course these wound-healing properties do not qualify it as a SuperFood.
