Hey gang, we tried being a little bit harsh in this video try to make the video as funny as it could be. After seeing comments and re-evaluating how some things came across I felt we missed the mark a few times, and I've edited the video to reflect that (changes should be processed soon by youtube soon). Thanks for pointing it out, I appreciate it and never want anyone to feel bad watching my videos (which was the whole reason we tried to make this a more funny video to begin with instead of just reveling in sadness). Appreciate you all, and take care ❤

I think until the end, it just becomes 'any other show' because otherwise, this wouldn't work. I mean to say that throughout the performance, she just focused on getting it right, on the technical aspects to detach herself from the 'where, when, what' of reality. But then, when she went to thank everyone, it hit her. Maybe also the fear that something like this might happen.
Sheesh - nowadays, that's probably a valid fear for a lot of musicians: that their show will be hijacked by some nut-cracks to make some kind of bullshit-statement and kill people. I will NEVER mock security-measures on a concert or any big event, even if it seems ridiculous for a moment.

Another example, any song of Justin Bieber is "related" to Selena and that's the joke. Stop trying to drag Taylor down to "she's just a strong, empowered woman in a misogynistic world", no one has denied that, she's a talented singer and songwriter, but most of her popularity comes down to her lots of affairs because if it was because of talent there would be another woman in her place; and if it was a really misogynistic world she wouldn't be where she is now.

It’s a pretty known fact within the Michael Jackson fan community that when he teared up at She’s Out Of My Life it was kind of gag or just a thing he would do but when he did first record the song in the studio for his Off The Wall album he actually did tear up and you can hear it in his voice he actually apologised for it once he was done. But a moment when he actually got emotional on stage was during Clinton’s inauguration and he sang Gone Too Soon which he dedicated to his friend Ryan White that passed away from AIDS

    • @messinalyle4030
      @messinalyle4030 Před 3 lety +33

Yeah, I'd never been to one of Michael Jackson's concerts and don't know very much about him, but it just so happened that I'd recently read a Wikipedia article saying that he regularly put his hand over his face to pretend he was crying as a gag when he ended that song in concert. And that the reason why was because he repeatedly cried when he recorded it--and kept it in the final recording because he wasn't able to keep his composure no matter how many takes he did.
In the clip we just saw, it didn't look like a gag, though. If it had been, I don't think he would have stayed in that bent-down position with his hands against his thighs for as long as he did after the audience member left the stage. He looked like he was truly struggling--he didn't just bounce back quickly and go on with the song as he would have if it were a gag.
According to the article, Jackson said that the reason why recording that song had made him so emotional was because it had made him think about how he had always felt like an outsider. He was only twenty two when he first recorded it, and had never been in a relationship serious enough to explain his reaction to a song like this.
I wonder if, thereafter, hugging an audience member who idolized him but whom he would never have the chance to know intimately, always triggered those same emotions for him of being an outsider? Maybe he had always been looked at under a microscope by the public, but felt that he would never have a chance to be truly *known* for who he was?
I don't know. We can only speculate on what he was thinking in that clip.

Adele wasn't talking about the concert. She was talking about the 4 years of radio silence that followed the pollips, her engagement, the birth of her son and ended with the release of 25. She had sat on a lot of the songs before putting the album together with her writers and getting studio time. I think we finally found out about 25 only a few months before it released (which was in the middle of an english lit exam, and my immediate circle of classmates and I listened to it immediately after on spotify). This also wasn't a tour performance (if i remember correctly), but was an more of an 'album release celebratory return' appearance that her publicists put together. I believe it was cosponsored for a fundraiser by some other organization, again don't quote me.

He didn't say oh why is she crying or I hope she's alright but the first thing he decided to say was oh she has alot of mental health issues, no surprise there. I don't like how we view people with mental illnesses as being broken or completely unstable or how people see it as apart of their personality and assume everything revolves around that. We're all human and when we're pushed to our limits we need time to come back, she's been through alot and come out stronger. The reason for the problems she's faced is because of how she was treated by others, not because she's "unstable". I don't see anyone addressing this properly so here it goes. Michael Jackson cried even while recording "She's Out of My Life" in the studio- several times, until he was told it was okay to cry and let the song be like that. He would cry performing it on the tours (Triumph, Victory, Bad, Dangerous). It might not have been real everytime but a lot of the times, he did cry. The same would happen while performing the Jackson 5 medley during his solo tours. BUT that specific clip was from the Dangerous tour in Argentina in 1993, not that long after the allegations (which in fact were false. You can ignore this comment if you're a guilter). He was going through a lot, his health was declining, he was cancelling shows and he was really pushing himself until he couldn't anymore. And the crowd there was singing sth back to him to keep him from crying. That makes anyone emotional.
Let me say sth about Joel's comment on the lipsync situation. Aside from some TELEVISED performances, Michael sang the MAJORITY of the shows' running times live until the HIStory tour in 1996-1997. He'd been singing since he was 5. And with everything he went through, I don't blame him for that at all. Besides he was dancing so hard and so well, trying to put on a show for the fans. I really appreciate that.

To me music such an expressive language, and to sing in front of thousands, and then cry when it is lyrics, or reason, that really touches the singers heart... magical. If you've ever felt what that lyrics, or situation, is about, you will not be able to make fun. For that person, it's real.... You don't have to cry, but don't make fun of someone geniunly breaking down...

I personally don't think people are being rude or snooty by providing context to clips. I don't think they're saying that Joel should've known. It's just that context matters for a lot of songs and videos. I like reading the stories behind different songs and performances.

Lady gaga's scene was the one which got me most tbh. I think she was thinking of her struggle to become successful, and seeing this little girl who has her whole life ahead of her, she wanted at least to be the one to encourage her. The song that she was singing 'Marry the night', and it is about struggling in her career so it makes sense, but of course in no ways I can know what she was feeling and thinking at that moment in time, just my gut feeling.

I will never forget the video of Amy Lee featuring on a Veridia show (Evanescence's supporting act for a couple of years now). She was playing piano for the song I'll never be Ready and there was a moment where she explains that Veridias singer had asked her if she wanted to play piano on the song and it was shortly after her little brother died. When mentioning her brother she broke out in tears for a short moment and then said she'd felt like she couldn't sing yet and it was so wonderful to her that all she wwas asked to do was play piano which no one had done since she became famous

The Michael Jackson one was part of the performance. He would always call a girl to hug him during She is Out of My Life song and at the end he pretended to cry because she was in fact out of his life. I don't think he ever actually cried during a performance, I can only remember him crying during an award show he presented to James Brown and during a rehearsal

He did cry for real sometimes. That clip was from the show in Argentina in 1993, not that long after the first allegation. His health was declining around that time, he was cancelling shows, and he knew people had at least heard about it. Of course it makes you emotional. Someone said that the crowd was singing sth for him to stop crying. How beautiful is that?
