I Need U is considered BTS's blow-up song because it was the first song they won a big award for which sparked a lot of controversy because no one thought they'd be able to beat out other groups from much larger labels. It also was during their Most Beautiful Moment in Life series which dove deep into social issues and mental health which aren't topics you typically find in pop or K-pop.
And this was such a poignant moment for them! I'll never forget this moment (and neither will BTS!)! I Need U has definitely become one of my most favorite BTS songs because of how special it was!

My favorite P!nk song is, and probably always will be, "Perfect" The lyrics are amazing, the melodies are so emotional, and it really punches the meaning home. I love it! Funnily enough, her hair is actually kind of gray in that video.
When an artist experiments, and changes things up, my respect for them increases a lot. It also ensures that I don't get bored with their music.
That is why I appreciate BTS and love Eminem. Kendrick is very experimental as well.

Early BTS' songs were mostly hiphop. Then they changed their sound/style during 2015, HYYH Era (I need U era). You can find any BTS song with a genre that u want/u are in mood for. They have a good discography, Joel. Their songs are so deep too.
Agreed 100%! BTS musical style has changed so much over the years (in good ways!)! From Hip Hop in their debut days to where they are now! I'm always impressed with them!

@@saldemarrr not really, they released bs&t in October 2016, their first bbmas were in May 2017, after Spring Day and Not Today. but they went to the bbmas because of the top social award they were nominated for for the first time, didn't have anything to do with their music yet. DNA was definitely their actual break into the US because their AMAs performance was their first time performing on American TV. that performance was how I discovered them too :')

The thing with bts is the variety of genres and the diversity in their discography. Ballads, pop, hip hop. Rnb, etc etc. They are always experimenting with genres. I really recommend taking a deep dive into them. They are a combo of everything you like joel: vocals, rap, talent, production quality, dance and most importantly deep and touching lyrics.
The kpop as a whole has so much more diversity and variety than any other music industry I hope he does listen to some really hard working and intersting kpop idols such as loona, stray kids, itzy, seventeenth and much more

BTS did have a big change in their music style, they were more of a hiphop based group for about 2 years after debut.

BTS's music style is always changing (in good ways), and that's what I love about them! They may have started out hip hop but now they have covered a wide variety of different other genres! XD

roomie what you are talking about in 13:20 is just an LFO i think. it works like a sidechain but you can draw it in instead of having levels be connected to specific instruments like the kick. may be wrong, he might have also just put some automation/delay combined with some filter but thats what i think

If he decides to do the deep dive he mentioned a few months ago, I think it would be a good idea to contact someone like xCeleste beforehand. That might give him a decent overview and it would be less likely that the comment section would be full of disappointed ARMY ripping him apart because he got some detail wrong or didn't include certain songs. I also think that she is in contact with other youtubers who focus on BTS, as well as with music producers and singers who have worked with the Tannies and journalists who have interviewed them.
I would love it if he looked into BTS, but I can see it go quite wrong if the video was poorly researched.
As an Army, I think BTS 's sound did go through a lot of changes over the years and I don't think No More Dream sound similar to any of their newer stuff. Their song production got better over the time. The only thing that didn't change is their meaningful and touching lyrics.

11:04 actually bts had two blow ups, the first one with 'i need u' and the second one with 'fake love' in 2018, which made them more popular on a global scale. although they had hits in between that helped them gradually climb to the mainstream ✨
also on a side note, bts started out as a hip-hop group focused more on their rappers, but over time they were trying to figure out how they all sounded together and explore other genres and concepts. ironically, that experimentation with a hip-hop backbone became their trademark sound.

yes and no. they've been outselling and outperforming big 3 groups since 2015, they were just largely ignored by the media because a group from a small company accomplishing all that was unheard of until that point.
until they became simply too big to ignore of course, because nowadays absolutely nobody is anywhere near their level in the Korean industry lol.
They were but now they are the most treasured idol group in korea tbh especially among general public
