This is not the original ad for this music. The original is from 1988, in a Dior advertisment too, but not this one. This one is much more recent. The music is from "As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls", co-written with Lyle in 1981 Original > czcams.com/video/VEvxIPhUECQ/video.html
I worked for Dior then and we launched Farenheight in 88. This music went to a video of a guy walking down a wooden platoon type walkway. We watched the launch of that video at Docklands London. They were a lovely company to work for. Spoiled us in every way. Good days.
The voice you lightly hear saying 55 then another number I can't catch we were told was from shooting/ editing the ad if I remember correctly . It should not have been there but they liked it so left it in. Good choice. Great on a big screen. No HD then as such but the colours were unforgettable. We wore a suit and blouse of the same tones, gold and rust for the launch. So exciting. We looked so elegant in pencil skirt and box jackets. Lovely days. I still love everything Dior. ❤️
Look on pat metheny’s website under podcasts regarding the albums. The AFWSFWF album is described by Lyle and Pat for every tune in detail. Lyle details how the numbers and this commercial and a specifically associated funny anecdote.
Thanks for sharing this!

Nice..!
1988 not 1978. And the video add here is note the original.
beautiful, reminds me of Brian Eno, a little.
Lyle Mays wrote a tongue in cheek explanation on a blog for the sequence of numbers used in that excerpt.
Do you remember what blog? It is hard to find any Lyle-related stuff
+Marco Longo the explanation is easier than it seems. the numbers are just the spelling
of the right timing of the original recording.
***** Yeah I found that blog not long ago. Thanks though!

That was 1978?!
No, wrong date. Up for info... :)
