    This is probably linked to all the scams where people get tricked into buying steam cards and sending people the codes. As in this is how they turn it back into real money.

    This is money laundry 100%

    I think they are trying to kind of exploit the system to appear at the top of sales due to have at times 98% off, which probably looks super attrative to steams suggestion system.

    It's probably that they sell keys for this to services like G2A and steam game wheel sites for cheaper than their game.

    Interesting ! Maybe send that to big fry or something

    Looks like @SidAlpha (youtube channel) has noticed stuff like this too. I think they even worked with Steam to clean some of it up. I haven't seen anything this blatant though. Good eye.

    This is for trash bundles or random key stores. A high price so that the average player does not buy the game, then this scheme will last longer(less reports etc).

    this is how they launder money from gift card and steam account scams

    I think they might also basically be selling the Synty Assets for cheap? If you buy one of those the assets will be included, if you know the hashed names you can get the synty packs for 90% off effectively

    • @Hietakissa
      @Hietakissa Před 9 měsíci +2

      you don't get the license to actually use them though

    • @Wimachtendink
      @Wimachtendink Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah, but I doubt synty has ateam going around dinging people for unlicensed use, there must be hundreds of games that use their assets legally.
      But I agree with you.
      The thing that made me think maybe it was that was the sales that take 90% off

    You know if I'm going to ever like ask to flip like using Kenny of free assets the very best I can do is make a story with the assets.

    This kind of thing is devastating to indie devs who are trying to grow. Steam actively punishes games that have a small audience in an attempt to combat this. If you don't have 7000 wishlists before launch, Steam will not show your game to anyone.

    definitely money laundering

      No not even sure how to go about that, but I highly doubt steam would do anything

    • @Hietakissa
      @Hietakissa Před 9 měsíci +2

      No point since it's not against Steam's ToS nor is it illegal. They're just extremely low-effort games.

    What about money laundering ?

  • @JayFolipurba
    @JayFolipurba Před 9 měsíci +2

    Yup, sounds like a scam right off the bat. The stupid part about it though, is that no one is going to buy the game for $200. The assets were only $5, sell the game for 10, 50% profit! Do it enough times and get rich

  • @Doty6String
    @Doty6String Před 3 měsíci

    Horrible money laundering scheme. Doesn’t steam take %30? If this is a money laundering scam it’s a really bad one.

    • @vacantknight

      They do

      I don't know much about money laundering, but isn't 30% a loss acceptable in order to turn your money "clean"?

    I just dont buy the BattleBit remastered situation. I think they're doing something like this too
