The Tomorrow War is out, the internet has chosen their sides, so now it's Chris Pratt vs Hollywood....and a movie release. Here's my review for #TheTomorrowWar
I've disagreed with Chris Pratt on alot of his public stances. However, a very close friend of mine was a background extra on this movie. He ended up getting incredibly lucky and was given a spoken line that made the final cut of the film. Shortly after production ended, my friend unexpectedly passed away. Another friend of his tweeted to Pratt asking if it was possible to get an In Memoriam credit added to the end of the credits. Pratt replied saying "consider it done." And he did. Dave Parra was humble, hilarious, inspiring, uplifting, and a fan of all things film and television. And no matter what Chris Pratt and I may personally disagree on, this one thing will always make him a solid guy in my book. We miss you, Dee.
@Shippyn Farfanhz Right before the large group Chris Pratt is in makes their first jump into the future, it cuts to Dave shouting "Where are we going?" For something so small, it was his proudest moment outside of the birth of his kids. Especially since he was a MASSIVE Guardians of the Galaxy fan. Lol.
I'm sorry but could I ask you question about Chris Pratt's public stances? because as long as I'm on twitter I never heard about any drama related to Chris Pratt (and I follow a lot people on the left side of political spectrum).
Not marvel related but the extended universe I SO Badly want to see is the reveal that all of John Wick was just one of the combat training modules from Matrix 1. With all the crossover actors this would be the best reveal ever if the copyright issues could get sorted out.
Good popcorn flick. I especially liked the "Interstellar"-like father-daughter connection, only this time, dad was able to come back and correct his mistakes - that was satisfying.
There was a character who was sprinting backwards down a flight of stairs screaming “OH SH*T OH SH*T OH SH*T” and honestly it was one of the most relatable moments in any action movie hahaha
@@whoknew2273 If you haven't seen the movie and care about spoilers you really shouldn't be in the comments section. This is literally where people come to talk about the movie.
Honestly, i had a great time watching this movie. Not a great movie but also not that bad tho. The alien design of the movie was my favorite part of it. For me, it's an enjoyable popcorn summer blockbuster movie where you can turn your brain off and have a good time watching it
This summer we all kinda need a few of those don't we. Sometimes movies don't need to be award nomination worthy to be fun & enjoyable, and people these days kinda forgot about that
I guess I can't switch my brain off that much, it wasn't just dunb it was aggressively stupid, everyone was making the worse possible descions to make the plot work.
thank you for being kind to Chris Pratt. I don't like a lot of the characters he acts in movies, but I love and respect him as a person. He is a good man, and he stands for a vast number of Christians who are also good people but not widely loved or accepted. I love what you said about "if Hollywood hates you, you're probably doing something right". I consider that fact haha. Awesome review.
Yeah that's all I'm looking for, just entertainment. I'll never understand why people disect and nitpick movies so intricately. People called Rampage a piece of sh*t, they crticized the plot and other things; meanwhile I was entertained by it. People tore Ghostbusters apart, don't care I was entertained. Warcraft was a great movie too, highly entertaining, didn't really understand or agree with the crap that one got too. I really enjoyed Tomorrow War, don't really care what anyone says. Tldr; I'm just looking to be entertained and I don't need to disect and analyze.
@@vanillawafer1182 IF there is a movie I REALLY REALLY Like or REALLY REALLY Hate I will sometimes "overanalyze it" but 9/10 If I enjoy a film, I am fine just saying "it was a good time" but there are always going to be people who are just "Trolling", OR are just "Fan Boys" and will defend any POS movie some Director makes, (Zach Syder) for example, and then you have that third group that fancies themselves "Amateur Movie Critics" that feel it is their DUTY to break down a movie and explain why a certain movie is a MASTERPIECE or is TRASH. All 3 of those groups are insufferable. I do my best just to ignore them.
Loved the movie. Chris is a good actor. Hollywood is lucky to have him, wished they'd give him a break & stop being judgemental about anyone's beliefs or differences.
@@YurimoHikashi What views? All he did was say that he likes going to church and he's Christian. That's it!! Ellen Page unnecessarily asked him to own up to the fact that his church is against LGBT. I don't understand how that's on Chris. He is not the one running that church. Besides, Pratt exclusively mentioned that he supports everyone and that he doesn't discriminate like that. That's the best he can do. He doesn't have to be a full on activist about the things you care about. If your parents or grandparents are homophobic, would you just completely cut them out of your life? Chris' church is probably like that to him. It's a community he wants to be a part of but doesn't agree with everything they do. Being a part of a religious community, I can understand that.
@@salad72057 Why should he? Look, I don't know a lot about this but I assume your church isn't something you always get to choose. He probably grew up going to it every week and that institution is as integral as his parents and grandparents. Imagine you have a grandparent who is very loving and supportive but is violently homophobic. Would you publicly denounce him/her for that? Also, why should any person/institution be defined by their worst qualities only? And why is Pratt guilty by association?
@@salad72057 World isn't black and white. Just because two people/institutions are in each other's lives, doesn't mean their views have to be the same 100%. @@RedHatClub Good to hear. Haven't seen this movie myself, but this review is done well; as usual for Jeremy. And I do like Chris Pratt, mainly because of Guardians of the Galaxy(Vol. 2 specifically, because I saw that in theaters with my mom, but saw the first one on tv, which has one of the best intros in MCU history, and also movie history). like everyone else who saw it, just saying. But, glad you and your family enjoy the movie. Good to hear.
I honestly love the movie, I had a good thrill, a good scream a good excitement, which is more than I can say for a lot of blockbusters in past few months.. nice one, it knew exaclty what but was and it did its job
Completely agree! I saw it with my brother and really enjoyed most of the movie. It was your standard summer action blockbuster film that delivered on everything it was hoping to.
@@shawne7228 so basically every tough female character that's a generic role for them to slap someone of lesser value in their eyes I guarantee you little to no one is gunna remember that generic ass role.

Chris pratt would have been in guilt which is why he couldn’t bear being with his wife, separated and things happened the way they happened in the future. Would have been mind blowing.
Yeah i found it weird that they basically foreshadowed a paradox type ending throughout the movie but just went for a more generic happy ending. But to be honest, i don't think many people would have enjoyed the depressing paradox ending where they are just doomed to always go extinct and makes everything feel kind of pointless.
So were Woody Allen and Harvey Weinstein doing something right with their life? They are completely shunned by Hollywood (especially actresses) and I agree that they are fawked up. You're fawked up for disagreeing.

I think it was wrong tbh the movie described it different from what I remember. Like the whole thing was they were supposed to change the future. Like if it’s a different timeline there was no point in getting more troops because they lose anyway

I kind of judge movies on the basis of "was I entertained." I was totally entertained by this movie. Was it a good time for two hours, yeah. Chris Pratt was, as usual, very relatable and his characters' motivations and troubles hit close to home. The family dynamics flowed well. The concept was great and I would love a sequel but after the sequence of them escaping the lab I knew that the storyline was dealing with some glaring issues. When that woman screamed "Go! We got this!" I bust out laughing. It was preposterous. Anyone trying to hold a line against creatures that are that deadly and powerful and in such massive numbers was a joke. It works in aliens or a quiet place because there are few aliens and the people truly fear them because they know all they can do is avoid at all costs.
I think the writing in this movie was genuinely cringeworthy. I found that every time characters on screen were speaking, I wished I was doing anything else other than watching this movie lmao. I was beyond unconvinced that these characters were real people who existed and weren't entirely manufactured, and every single line came across as crass and forced. The action was cool though.

You nailed it. The transition to the hordes of CG monsters took me right out, and yes their visual quality seemed to drop precipitously as time went on. The monsters aim is insanely lethal and accurate when it needs to be. The convoluted time travel scheme was the third strike for me.

Watched it yesterday, was a nice entertaining movie and Chris Pratt did a good job for the movie. Nothing groundbreaking. People hating it or making it out to be the best movie in history are just politics ideologues fighting each other. Was an entertaining movie, the end.
Agreed. I really didn’t know about Pratt’s religion nor did I cared to research until I started reading the reviews. It’s amazing how most of them were attacking him and not the movie itself.
Chris Pratt is a real likeable guy from Marvel and the Jurassic movies. Made me forgot a lot of the plot holes because the acting very good for the main cast. This was an enjoyable romp of a "monster big budget movie" with a sort of unbelievable plot holes you mainly realize "after watching the movie". Although I liked the second act of finding the spaceship and Pratt and Simmons taking it out. The father and son dynamic was good, as was the father and daughter dynamic of the first hour. Like the movie for what is gets right!
Same. But especially with Jeremy Jahns AND Chris Pratt. I kinda think it's impossible to hate either of them. They're both likeable, and nobody can change my mind.
@@993mike Ok. I mean; I haven't seen this movie myself, but I do like popcorn superhero/action movies, or comedy movies. And I'm a fan of Pratt's work as Star Lord from both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but it wouldn't stop me from at least checking out this movie eventually. I feel the same way Jeremy Jahns does during this review though. Chris Pratt is awesome, and isn't perfect, but I haven't seen him do any wrong yet. I just feel the same ways Jeremy does, I don't like to talk about politics or anything political, because that stuff just personally bores the crap out of me. Even though my mom is religious herself. But I just came here to see what Jeremy Jahns had to say because I genuinely enjoy the dude's videos. I always love watching his stuff. Even when he doesn't like the same movie that I do, I always find myself laughing with him and his opinions, and I especially enjoy his strange, but unique ranking system. He just always happens to be a relatable dude, like just your everyday, normal average guy who just happens to review movies, and has sweet facial hair. Just saying.
I loved this movie. Reminded me of old school summer blockbusters like Independence Day. Over the top but fun. And the characters were great, the movie gave them time to develop and you got to know and understand them as characters. They felt real, not stereotypes. Should have been released in the cinema. I felt like the finale two thirds in would have been the best ending, so the final act was a bit of a surprise, and probably not needed and a bit campy., although it was fine. The two thirds finale (which I honestly though was the best one) was most emotional. And I agree with Jeremy that the “waves of monsters” at the end was a bit poor CGI. Initially the monsters felt really terrifying.
Yeah, the waves of monsters were VERY overdone, I mean the massive numbers climbing the legs of the structure, and the relatively few people defending they would have been fucked, and wouldn’t have had time to do anything as every level of the station would have had hundreds of the creatures on them within a minute., not the handful that our hero’s were able to almost barely sort of hold off just long enough to do what they needed. (Trying to be vague so as to not post any spoilers.) Yes the monsters were pack hunters, but they the ending would have been just as impressive, and more realistic, if they had toned down the creatures making it to the structure by like 90% With that said, I do loved the concept, although it is lacking a bit in logic, as the first thing I thought was, hey would they send huge numbers of people into the future to fight these creatures instead of sending a few recon/research units, whose main goal was to find out as much as they could to help us prepare for the coming invasion? But even so, I really did enjoy the movie, the premise was great, the acting was pretty good, the story was fun, exciting and suspenseful and other than the final battle in the future, on the rig, the effects and monsters weren’t overdone. I especially enjoyed how the managed to repeatedly show that the creatures were not just “stupid animals,” but that they actually communicate and coordinate their actions, there are even brief shots that showed a pack leader issuing issuing instructions/commands to other creatures in the pack. And of course the creature designs were awesome and fearsome looking, both when they were standing still and when they were in motion.
Yep it was a fun movie. It’s one of those movies were I just switch off all analytic thinking and the small movie critic in my brain and just have fun. The only thing for me was just two or three scenes that made movie feel to long here and there.
It was the first movie in a long time that gave me this special blockbuster feeling in my home cinema. And that's all I wanted at that moment. It's a fun self contained movie that doesn't beg for a sequel (very rare nowadays), but if they'd make one I'm very interested to see how this world gets expanded. Also I just really like Chris Pratt and hope all this ideological Hollywood nonsense won't hurt his career. Greetings from Germany! :-)
Ironically, the other person who doesn't want to talk about Religion and Politics is Chris Pratt Don't ever change Jeremy, keep being the peaceful haven of calm in a storm, like a true mensch.
Bradley C FR. Anytime I see someone say (This very famous and wealthy actor) is being canceled/under attack etc I roll my eyes. Chris Pratt isn’t Hollywood? Give me a break
ibigrooster11 I just said saying Chris Pratt isn’t Hollywood is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. And I love Jeremy but i think he’s wrong in this instance. Maybe instead of blindly listening to popular internet people you can apply nuance.
@ibigrooster11 The liberal establishment is run by crony-capitalists, who are financed by large corporations, and backed by certain mass media conglomerates. Throwing Pratt to the wolves costs them nothing and provides a distraction from their unwillingness to truly push for populist left economic policies. Making an issue out of Disney and the NBA doing so much business with China is bad press for their donors, and calls unwanted attention to trade policy. It's always about the money.
I honestly LOVED this movie. It was super intense and it brought a lot of emotion inbetween. The talk at the beach when his daughter tells him how he left the family (since there was no future war in her timeline. That would have been Chris Pratt's life if the people from the future had not time traveled) was amazing. The same at the end when she forgave him. It reminded me a lot of Interstellar. I LOVED this movie and I don't see many logical flaws with it and usually I'm quite aware of those. Fantastic movie. Sure, a little bit predictable at times but for me it worked, because the father-daughter-story was THAT good. I'm looking forward to the second film.
It's one of those movies you won't _really_ remember that much of later down the line but you remember you had a good time watching it. Nothing spectacular, nothing groundbreaking, nothing monumental, but a fun time of decent acting of decent people.
@@josie_the_valkyrie Well, it's probably a few reasons. She spent 5 of her "best" years on Chuck, which was a great show but not popular enough to become a household name, especially internationally. And "best" is of course BS, she has never been better than now! But Hollywood was super ageist against women then, and still is. Yvonne could easily had the career of Margot Robbie if she had her big break on a huge movie early on, but she didn't and she has never really had much success in movies until now. When that is said, her TV career, now with handmaids tale, is pretty much as good as it gets, and I also think she is quite happy with her career as it is, and not having to deal with all the cons of being a superstar.
This was a decent scifi action movie. It entertained me. I wasn't staring at my phone out of boredom. And it had some decent emotional depth to it. @@npcimknot958 that and the film has a good father figure. Most of these reviewers likely grew up in single mother households with the rare once a month visitation from the father.
If the movie would have ended pretty much right when he gets back to present time I think it would have been much better. Then we would see how he could actually leave his family due to guilt of watching his daughter grow up knowing what would happen to her and he would understand his own fathers reasoning for leaving him and his mother.
If it was a continuous/singular timeline, I would have liked this a lot. However, him going back knowing that, with a now altered timeline, it would make more sense that he would work his whole life to figure out a solution, as well as avoid his untimely death. Although, people do breakdown and freeze due to their emotions, so I suppose it could fit there too. I guess either way, would have been a much more interesting ending.
@@zac8670 yeah I agree with that as far as the timelines go, I just think the allegory of the trauma of war tearing generations of families apart is such a powerful message I wish they explored it a little more. I do understand that it’s a sci-fi action movie and less of a drama.
His daughter in the future never had a dad who enlisted in a future war tho. The war is a single event which never happened before. What his future daughter experienced is how Chris Pratt would have acted, if he wasn't enlisted in a future war. In the beginning of the film you can see how he tried to land a job. Fast forward a few years and him still feeling like a loser, hence he left his family etc. But that doesn't happen to the Chris Pratt WE follow. The movie makes a lot of sense actually, so does the ending.
@@danhun7355 for sure and I like the way the story plays out with the exception of it having a perfect “Hollywood ending”. I think the timeline of him going to war and coming back a damaged man because he ultimately feels like he let his daughter and family down would have been an interesting way for the story to go. I ultimately really enjoyed the movie I just felt like him coming back was very emotional and powerful so the last half hour or so wasn’t as good as the rest of the movie.
I really enjoyed this movie, it’s a perfect popcorn summer flick. The monsters reminded me of the Zerg from Starcraft and there’s a good story with a fair chunk of heart that I didn’t know was in there. Definitely a seal of approval from me, I think it would have been better if I saw this in a theatre instead of at home on my TV but I can see myself revisiting it from time to time
I definitely did not shut off my brain and was pulling it apart in the beginning. They explained some of the holes half way through. I tried to find ways that it could be that way instead of not. Overall it was really cool and fun. You have to think though, if they had a science advisor, would that have made it less entertaining. They have to find a middle ground between boring possible and super entertaining impossible (like Fast 9).
Personally, after having just watched it, It really just felt like an alright 6-7/10 movie that felt like it ended like two separate times before it really did. Felt strangely drawn out and I dont REALLY know if they needed the whole final sequence at all honestly. It could have ended at the one right before and it would've been fine, Or they couldve ended it right after the whole conclusion to the time travel part and it wouldve worked fine as well. Thats not to say the final bits of the movie were BAD, they werent, but the problem is they added more just "okay" stuff onto it until it got to the point where all the really impactful stuff ends like 40 minutes before the end of the movie and im just stuck wondering when its going to end. Really felt like it overstayed its welcome.
I agree. I'd say that the "extra ending" actively made it a worse movie. I also think that is much more the reason for the "giant split between critics" than any politics. The first part had an outstanding premise, good acting and action, and an okay/pretty good script. There were plenty of "well that character's behavior wasn't smart in retrospect" moments, but the kind of mistakes that people actually reasonably make in spur of the moment and life and death situations. And there were a few "that was kind of a hand-wavy explanation"....but ones that made sense given time constraints of a movie. It did a pretty good job anticipating questions, giving plausible answers, and had a lot of satisfying satisfying set-up and pay-off in unexpected ways. But the last part felt like an entirely different movie. It suddenly became a movie where people behaved stupidly and did so not because it was reasonable or made sense at the moment... but just because the movie needed this one cool frame, or because "heros gotta hero" or because we wrote these script pages before knowing what happens in the rest of the movie, and it'd be a shame not to include them. And the worst part is that it unnecessarily undercuts the entire purpose of the middle third of the movie. "Wait, so everything else they did was pointless" is always an uncomfortable way to end a movie. I can see why it would leave critics split, because to me it was an 8/10 blockbuster action movie for the first hour and a half, and a 3/10 straight-to-VHS action movie for the final third, and it is hard to summarize something like that into a single rating.
@@Scorch428 or a cyclical ending where their stupid mission is actually what released the monsters and started the war, with all the research going to waste on every loop.
This movie reminded me of Tom Cruises “Edge of Tomorrow” which is a better movie. I’m curious to know if other people agree with me, if they’ve seen both movies. It’s Hollywood trying to recycle old movies again.
Yeah this did remind me of 'Edge of Tomorrowland because of the time travel aspect, but that was about it. Aside from the bad writing the lack of good characters (except J.K Simmons dad character) didn't really have an arc or were memorable. In 'Edge of Tommorow' we had Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt's characters who you get attached to and you are rooting for by the end. In 'Tommorow War' even Pratt's character falls flat. He's not a down on his luck guy, he's a family man with a good job that "wants to do more" which feels like a weak motivation.
@@kyeweaver You can tell they borrowed from Marvel's Endgame, edge of Tommorow, and little war of the world's (with a twist) in this film. With a tighter script and better characters it could have a good film.
I actually had a really good time with this movie, Chris Pratt does a pretty good job in the lead role, this isn’t like 1 of his strongest or most memorable characters or anything but he fills the space just fine, this is also a great premise that I think they utilize very well, they did a lot more with the time travel element than I was expecting, there was a point where something happens and I thought the movie was wrapping up even though it still had 30 minutes left, and much to my surprise it was still entertaining, I thought it was really gonna drag but it didn’t, it also took an approach similar to Aliens where even when the characters are sent out on their first mission they keep them hidden for a while before the mayhem starts, I really like the alien designs as well, the movie as a whole looks great too, I know this was an Amazon Prime movie but while I was watching it I kept thinking “Y’know, if it wasn’t for the pandemic I bet you this would’ve been a theatrical movie” I’d say my 2 biggest issues are that there’s a character Chris Pratt meets later on in the movie that I quite frankly did not like, even with the reasoning she gives for why she’s like that I just found her character to be really bitchy, I also think the first half has a really bad issue with tone, for the first half of the movie there’s a lot of really forced humor that I felt really bogged down the weight of the story, and I really mean a TON of humor, way more than it needed, thankfully there’s a point where it levels out and stops being so constant but the first half really suffers from it, but yeah, other than that I had great time with this movie, the action was fun, the story was great, it was a lot smarter than I thought it was gonna be and as a whole I really enjoyed it. 7/10
@@FireJach but the even after they find the alien toxin ,the future timeline is doomed ,so the only reasons humans from the future made a time machine is to save another timeline that they will never experience ,so its useless. its always so bad to introduce time travel into a movie ,you need a full team to spend days thinking about all the plot holes
This movie seemed like a video game plot and that’s why I liked it. I rather have something high concept and entertaining than just a dumb action movie like fast and furious…
I had the same thought. The scene after the queen creature is captured felt like a video game mission coming to an end the way the camera panned out on the moving vehicle with dramatic music.
I really loved the concept of the relationship between him and his daughter, and I wish we saw the events of the movie more from her eyes. There is something beautiful about that story - Muri's father failing to address his inner baggage, hurting her and her mother beyond repair before dying. Then getting another chance of sorts, as his past self meets her in the future. I think it raises great questions to ponder, about how the events of our lives influence who we are. The same man was capable of so much harm and so much good. Their relationship probably could have been fleshed out more but the emotional note hit for me.
I feel like they didn’t know how to end the movie, I kept thinking “it’s surely over now” and then they just keep doing stuff lol, either way it was still a decent film
I think of it as they could have just come back from the future and had a voiceover say that now they had the virus the human race were ready to defend when the Aliens came.. but they didn't, they could now do what they did as there was nobody in the future timeline to save... if they altered this timeline.
The more I think about it, the more it seems like a reshoot/rewrite. "You can't end the movie like that! Something needs to explode!" The ending made 2/3 of the movie irrelevant since C4 did the same thing the toxin did but 'betterer.'
@@goldfishprime That's what I was thinking until I thought about the relationship between Dan and his dad, which wouldn't have been resolved if it ended when he landed back in the past.
I ignored the stupid time travel and toxin development quirks, but when they returned and didn't use the toxin, the movie just became too dumb to enjoy. Lt Hall knew he brought back toxin and even went on the mission into the ice, but you're saying world leaders who took her word about traveling to the future and even instituted a draft on her say-so wouldn't follow through on the thing they sent people to fight for makes 0 sense

That would have been really great to see. Especially, if it was a surprise midway through. Chris Pratt's character lands in the war zone to see the same aliens from edge of tomorrow. Then we find out that the technology used to go back in time was created by using the blood of the Alpha.
@@SherwinCeleste-cj7ng the movent yes but the design was completely different than Edge of Tomorrow's aliens. The alien design in The Tomorrow War was a bit similar to A Quiet Place's alien design
Prequel: space jockey/engineers vs the pilot species in this movie. Just dropping payloads of their monster creations on enemy planets. Apparently it was the alien thing to do eons ago….according to Hollywood.
I liked it as a popcorn flick where you can just turn off your mind and enjoy it. It was entertaining, even though it had its issues (most time travel ones do), but it didn’t preach and tell us we’re all bad people. For once in a blue moon, a movie actually saw families as a good thing and valued the existence of a father. It was not a cinematic masterpiece, but it was worth watching. I look forward to the sequel.
The concept for the movie is, unfortunately, flawed. Why would future soldiers invent time travel to come back 30 years to recruit soldiers for a war they know is lost? How about: “hey, in 30 years we’re getting our asses kicked by aliens. We don’t know how they arrived but they first showed up at point x in Russia. So we’re gonna guide you for the next 30 years to prepare for this threat and have about 100 million soldiers in Russia ready to go in 2051.” Also, the thing about testing to make sure they died prior to the jump point - something like 99.9% of humanity has died at that point, so the really extraordinary thing would be to find someone who SURVIVED.
They also say it’s the same linear timeline. So that means that the future soldiers are killing their own parents and grandparents, which by doing so results in the future soldiers never being born (again, the movie says it’s the same timeline), meaning the human population is even smaller now. Time just doesn’t work the way the movie says it works, and what is even funnier is that the movie attempts to explain away other time paradoxes, but the real ones are never even addressed.
@@officernasty6634 actually, there was a scene when Chris and comedy dude were looking around and noticing that all of the cannon fodder were older people and all of the younger officers were...young. i think the whole point was to reinforce there lost to give the daughter and scientist time to find a way to beat them. she said at the end they were going to lose anyway they just needed time. this was all to save a past so this future doesn’t happen.. it was pretty much straight forward

(Trying to be vague so as to not post any spoilers.)
Yes the monsters were pack hunters, but they the ending would have been just as impressive, and more realistic, if they had toned down the creatures making it to the structure by like 90%
With that said, I do loved the concept, although it is lacking a bit in logic, as the first thing I thought was, hey would they send huge numbers of people into the future to fight these creatures instead of sending a few recon/research units, whose main goal was to find out as much as they could to help us prepare for the coming invasion?
It reminded me of Starship Troopers.

Chris Pratt is the Punk Rock of Hollywood Actors and yes Jeremy if Hollywood hates you you are definitely doing something right with your life .
It was the first movie in a long time that gave me this special blockbuster feeling in my home cinema. And that's all I wanted at that moment. ibigrooster11 I just said saying Chris Pratt isn’t Hollywood is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

Great concept though.

It was only 1-50. Shit felt 3 hrs long
Last act was just dumb, could been like 20mins shorter. Liked the future stuff and meeting her daughter tho.

@@danhun7355 for sure and I like the way the story plays out with the exception of it having a perfect “Hollywood ending”.
I love Chris Pratt, and I appreciate you defending him.

There is something beautiful about that story - Muri's father failing to address his inner baggage, hurting her and her mother beyond repair before dying. Then getting another chance of sorts, as his past self meets her in the future. I think it raises great questions to ponder, about how the events of our lives influence who we are. I think of it as they could have just come back from the future and had a voiceover say that now they had the virus the human race were ready to defend when the Aliens came.. but they didn't, they could now do what they did as there was nobody in the future timeline to save... if they altered this timeline.

Pratt and his daughter (future and present) made me close to tears at many points in the film.
Psh. Stop using common sense and logic.
@@undefined7141 Lol yes, turn it all off and it’s a relatively enjoyable movie. A multiverse explanation would’ve solved a lot of problems, though.
@@officernasty6634 actually, there was a scene when Chris and comedy dude were looking around and noticing that all of the cannon fodder were older people and all of the younger officers were...young. In order for that to be true, they had to wait till after their births to take their parents and grandparents.
i think the whole point was to reinforce there lost to give the daughter and scientist time to find a way to beat them. she said at the end they were going to lose anyway they just needed time. this was all to save a past so this future doesn’t happen.. it was pretty much straight forward
I could care less about the side of opinions but they should’ve ended the movie after he came back in time. They totally dragged it on.
3 different movies, each with the potential to be Oscar level performances and experiences, hamstrung by writers who seemed to have decided Screen Rant's "Pitch Meeting" is actually educational material, given how many different ways they managed to have characters respond to systemically deep questions about the story, motivations, and how the universe itself actually worked, with the offended declarations "Becuase I need it for the movie to happen" and "/I/ don't /KNOW/."
I've never been this early to one of Jeremy's reviews...if you're reading this...have a great day! Or at least a good nights rest :-D

Could not agree with you more!
Yes Jeremy Jahns with millions of subscribers is definitely not part of the Elite.
Jeremy is just a working class dude. He’s not like the *other* rich guys.
@@koberyan2880 Yeah, I like Jeremy but that comment was obvious pandering to avoid getting 20-50% dislikes for criticizing the movie - he even mentions the "culture war". It reminds me of when SkillUp made a video called "In Defense Of Days Gone" and then said that the game wasn't really that good (the same opinion as most critics while trying to pretend you're different). *Framing is important for a brand I suppose but they're babying people and not being fully honest*
I thought the movie was well done. Haven’t seen something quite as entertaining in a long time.
Jeremy I enjoyed your review and today I am glad I watched “The Tomorrow War.” I feel some scenes paid homage to other iconic films, without being a true re-telling (ex: making live-action Disney anime films). I enjoyed the family dynamic of Pratt and Simmons and I look forward to a sequel without the cheesy sidekick. LOL
