Just watched the movie. It is simply great. An action movie done right. From start to finish (also thanks to the intense music) it gets more and more intense. I expected a regular Jason Statham movie with a simple plot but I forgot it was a Guy Richie movie, so he turned a simple action movie into a freaking great brutal action/thriller movie that has you glued to the screen from start to finish.

About 5 minutes into the first act, when you feel like you’re trapped inside the truck with the victims as a violent robbery takes place, I realised this was going to be a cut above my expectations. That driving musical score really sold the tension and there were moments when I got palpitations, which is rare for me these days. You know when a movie makes you feel your heart pound inside your chest that you’re being entertained. Way darker and grittier than I expected. The trailers are highly misleading, making it look like the usual Statham, implausible but fun crap that we can all take or leave. This is not that. My favorite Guy Ritchie movie is Sherlock Holmes a Game of Shadows. That end confrontation between Holmes and Moriarty, playing like a real life game of Chess, pure perfection.
Personally preferred the original Sherlock Holmes from Ritchie, that was positively film perfection, literally nothing wrong with it. From the incredible bombastic score, the lighting and filmography, the humour and those fight scene choreographies. More than happy to fork out $30 for that on DVD after seeing it in cinemas.
Honestly I love both of them equally, I think the second one had a better villain, and a few of the scenes had the best visuals of both movies. The first I think had a slightly better sense of humor and the mystery was better, but in the end they were both fantastic movies
Out of the theater for 2months review: Dark. Stupid spoonfuls of story. You don’t get the picture until you do, but not in a clever way. Just give me the story already! Yeah, it’s long. It’s GTA Liberty City, except, GTA Liberty City was clever and not long and didn’t have Josh Hartnett pretending to be tough, pretending to be a wimp, pretending to be not the hero.
What did you make of it, I commented about but I lobe the fashion in these films. I’ve been taking notes at the suits and clothes they wear. Same with the gentlemen.
A masterpiece. HEAT for the 2020s generation. It manages to combine the simplicity of plot with the sparse dialogue of Robert Bresson and Jean-Pierre Melville. It also contains some of the best architectural cinematography since Antonioni at his peak. Glad you made the comparison to The Gentlemen. I loved that movie and the direction Guy Ritchie took with it, had some badass moments, some funny moments, and overall a great time. Loved the whole "one person telling a story, cuts to the scene, then another person says something and it cuts to something else" found that really unique and interesting.

Yup, totally agree with your comments Jeremy. It was strange at the start because ALL the characters were talking in Guy Richie-esque quips and witty one liners. It would've made sense if just Jason, his henchmen and maybe Andy Garcia talked like that but all the security guys too? It just didn't quite fit. Speaking of Garcia I didn't quite get how he fit in exactly, was he the big boss or was Jason really the big boss? There were some confusing parts which a rewatch would clear up I'm sure. All in all a good movie though with good prod values, soundtrack, cinematography (although there were some weird zoom and pan camera movements that took me out of the movie. Guy was obviously trying to be artistic but it was actually distracting, like a film school major was shooting or something), acting and story, although it did jump around and get a bit convoluted in the 2nd act. It came right and ended well. Worth a watch imo.

Hi Jeremy! It's been 10 years since you reviewed Mortal Kombat Legacy Webisodes, wonder if you'll ever cover the 2nd season. I know, it's short but much better than the live action movies
My favorite part of this film is the ending Jan goes back to his place with a small, nondescript black car with duffel bags containing about $180 million in cash. Just like I’d do. I would assume anyone chasing me (like H, for example) was dead, and the idea of driving somewhere vast and private like Montana to hole up for awhile, please. Not while the heat’s all over the place in LA, and there’s a bottle of cheap Scotch waiting for me in my place. Miss all that, come on.
I really liked this movie was totally in the story and couldnt wait to see what would happen. I enjoyed the Gentlemen but Wrath of man felt gritier, darker and that was very refreshing to me . My favorites from him are Two smoking barrels and Rock n rolla, this movie just made the list.
The storyline is well shown, I mean the chronology. Action is great, Jason Statham nailed it. One thing was confusing, at the Fortico base, when H dresses up and then he's shot with bullets, how is he able to make it to the Jan's home in the end? That specific part made me felt the film was concluded forcefully.
Fun fact according to Jason Statham him and Guy shot another movie litterley 4 weeks after finishing this movie apparently its a spy action comedy movie classic Guy Richie hope it comes out next year 😁🤞 man Guy works fast so glad you liked wrath of man I can't freakin wait to see it myself 😁

I love me some Snatch flavor.
Actos like Jason Statham and Ryan Reynolds just play more violent versions of themselves and its refreshing!
I really liked this movie was totally in the story and couldnt wait to see what would happen.
I enjoyed the Gentlemen but Wrath of man felt gritier, darker and that was very refreshing to me
. My favorites from him are Two smoking barrels and Rock n rolla, this movie just made the list.
Gotta get that snatch flavor.....
He inserted a phone in the money bag
Jeremy! Did you really just do a call back to you Hobbs and Shaw video with that Megaladon comment?! 😂😂😂😂😂 love it. Absolutely love it!
We’re early lmaoooooo
Disagree JJ.
This movie was Trash!!!
Start to finish. Top to Bottom.
Hot garbage.
"Snatch flavors"-Jeremy jahns 2021
Taste the rainbow..rainbow trout.😂
The Gentleman is way better movie, a proper Guy Richie Movie. This Wrath of Man has been yanked up lol.
Jason Statham like the Dwayne the Rock Johnson are the only actors in Hollywood who act as the same character in all their movies.
Anthony mackie tops them both.
This was the 4am Eastern time pick me up I needed!
I come for Jeremy's impressions. Dead on spot. LOL!
Good review, as always though. Saw his review of NOBODY, and he sold me on it. Went and saw it and loved it. Thanks Jeremy, you rock.
They need to release it on VOD. I’m not going to movie theatres anytime soon
Damn spooky public spaces
@@vsauce4678 Bruce Wayne’s parents died after a movie... uh oh
Just that Raycon advert alone earned you my Like.
You are one of them rare tubers who give their sponsors their monies worth , no sneering no catty remarks just honest to god goodness, I like that
My all time favourite Ritchie film is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, with the great Jason Statham.
