    2:55 I really like this detail of him licking his lips because that also happens to be one of the more visual cues that dogs give that show nervousness.

    Doppler's hands have obsessed me ever since I watched that movie on the theatres. I don't think anyone can animate hands as well as Sergio. I remember going crazy about Jesper's hands in the concept trailer.
    Sergio make a book on drawing and animating hands. You'll have at least one buyer!

    Sergio's animation is so dynamic, and can add a lot of humor to the material in and of itself. It's always fascinated me.

    I always felt annoyed that Treasure Planet was treated in a really underrated way, it is one of my favorite animated films, top in the list. Thank you for uploading this video! 😊

      IKR! It definitely didn't deserve to bomb at the box-office at all! It was such a well-made, well-written, well-executed, beautiful, powerful, emotional, inspiring, imaginative, memorable, epic, awesome, amazing, spectacular, creative, intelligent, and breath-taking film!

      One of of the worst Disney ever and even one of the worst animated movie ever produced. Of course the animation is really good, but the story is so bad : What's the interest of changing Jim hawkins into this stupid little bastard at the beginning of the story, and Doppler who certainly is a modern version of livesey, why giving him so less personnality, forgeting how brave and wise he is in the original story. Making treasure island in this space opera way killed all the force this story could have. It's obvious that the script was re written a dozen times, unfortunately, the final version is full of defaults.

      @@madjidchouarbi3921 Seriously?! It really is one of Disney's best and even one of the best animated films ever produced! How dare you come here to troll and say it's one of the worst ever because that's not true at all! It's considered underrated by many, many people and it has a huge and passionate fanbase for a reason! It's even superior to the book in so many ways because not only does it stay true to it's source material, but it also improves upon it! You're obviously one of those Treasure Island purists! That's why you hate Disney's sci-fi adaptation of the book so much! You're insulting and disrespecting all the amazing and talented people including Sergio Pablos himself that put all of their heart, passion, effort, and skill into making such a gem of a film! Do you even know who actually directed Treasure Planet?!

      I saw this movie when I was a teenager, around Jimbos age. I simply loved the movie and I was surprised it was considered as a failure. But then the robot was introduced. I like the movie up to that point, but for me the robot kinda ruins the rest of the movie. I haven't seen it in years, but I'd love to check it out again now as an adult, to see if I'd still like it.

      That proves he never forgets about the other animated films he worked on, even if a few of them were financial failures when they had no right to be like Treasure Planet. It shows that he still cares about TP, is still proud of working on it, and is definitely not ashamed about it despite Disney still not wanting to have anything to do with it for obvious and biased reasons. TP still remains as the most underrappreciated Disney animated film ever made. And it's fandom will never die no matter what. It'll always grow bigger and ultimately become stronger. When will Disney ever realize that it's such a high-quality and timeless masterpiece and not really what it's atrocious box-office results made it out to be? When will they ever give it a second chance to prove itself as a worthy classic and allow it to join the ranks as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Snow White, Pinocchio, Bambi, Fantasia, Dumbo, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Mary Poppins, and many others?

    this character really reminds about Jesper! Treasure Planet is my favorite cartoon! and whats a pity that this cartoon was not so famous for watchers((
    to my opinion Treasure Planet deserves more, like film KLAUS deserves Oscar.

    • @1992disney
      @1992disney Před 4 lety +1

      And Treasure Planet deserved the Oscar as well instead of Spirited Away. It even deserved more nominations like Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Original Song for I'm Still Here, Best Director, Best Art Direction, Best Sound, Best Sound Editing, and Best Film Editing than just Best Animated Film. And all those other nominations that I mentioned were actually considered, but it ultimately ended up getting only just one. The Academy is so biased when it comes to animation, even though they don't take animation seriously when they definitely should and only see it as "just kids stuff". That's how Toy Story 4 won instead of Klaus because of the Academy's favoritism for Disney and Pixar and the fact that Toy Story is one of the most successful and popular animated film franchises in the world. But that doesn't excuse it from being an unwanted and unnecessary cash-grab sequel. Who even asked for yet another Toy Story movie to begin with?

    Doppler was my fave character on the film. He was relatable to me while growing up. I was not a troubled teen and sporty like Jim, I was a bookworm, shy kid who keeps trying to be more confident and still also want to get out of my comfort zone and travel.

    If Disney ever adapts "Treasure Planet" to live action and CGI, I will be very disappointed if they don't call Sergio for advice on Doppler's motion capture performance.

    • @1992disney
      @1992disney Před 4 lety +3

      That's actually not such a good idea because it's already perfect. Remaking it will not only ruin it, but it would also disrespect everyone including Sergio that worked on the movie and degrade all the heart, effort, passion, and talent put into the film. So it's a lot better to just leave it completely alone and appreciate it the way it is forever instead.

    • @olafontart
      @olafontart Před 4 lety +1

      1992disney Oh I don’t want them to remake it at all. Treasure Planet is great exactly how it is.
      I am just saying in the chance they remake it, which they likely will given their track record for wanting money over original ideas, the character would lack that special Animator’s touch without his input.
      Compare the Beast in animation to how stiff and average he moved in the live action Beauty and the Beast remake.
