This ending would've been just as beautiful I think honestly (In fact the storyboards made me tear up and I usually don't cry easily) but I think it would've worked better if Jasper was alone at the end and I understand why they scrapped it due to the symbolism just not fitting. But I think they could've included the little letter bit of the other ending we got still. Maybe Jasper goes back to Klaus house some time later before Christmas. Remembering Klaus and the adventures they had now that he had "passed away". Taking everything in one last and then he suddenly receives the letter from Klaus like in the draft. But instead of it saying: "find me at the north pole" it essentially says something like: "on this day, wait. Wait until deep into the night until you hear the jingle of bells softly ringing outside in the dark and we will meet again. See you soon my friend. Your old friend always, Klaus". Essentially Klaus giving Jasper a vague heads up. After that it goes on like in the draft. He runs to Alva while narrator Klaus reads the letter, they read it together, Jasper is excited. Then we have the bit of the ending that made it into the movie. A couple years have passed. Jasper kisses his kids good night, Alva goes to sleep and Jasper prepares everything for Klaus arrival. He sits in his armchair and fondly reads the now old worn letter again he received so many years ago, waiting when hours later he hears the jingle of bells and we have Jaspers monologue from the finalized ending in the background. I love the ending we got, I cried a lot and it's just beautiful. My take is just a bit of loud thinking on my end to think of a way to combine the emotions and motives of both endings because I think it really is a shame the letter from Klaus bit of the scrapped ending didn't made it into the final version in some way because this would've been a very beautiful full circle with the beginning when we first meet Klaus.
This is amazing. Love it! Thanks for sharing! 💙🙌
And historians will call them--
And then he did Wolfwalkers, another PHENOMENAL animated film that should've won Best Animated Feature as well, much like Klaus. Then again, I am glad The Boy and the Heron won in their place.
whats the frame rate?
Probably 24 fps
Share us how to plan animation and story board then animate .. not whole sequence just 1 sec of full process that would be really helpfull for us to understand
He's such a genius
which pencil settings do you use to draw? can u share them?
This was meant to be a walk cycle tutorial but it made me understand timing chart more
Amazing animation!

PERFECTION! Thank you so much for the video and the great content always! The timing for the FX is so on point <3 For the next ones, I would lobe to see an FX thar comes towards the screen... like an after shock dust cloud with some debris and stuff like that... Something that would look cool as a transition for the next scene <3 Thanks again for everything you guys do!
So interesting and didactic. Thanks!
Amazingg.. I would like to see big dust animation. (Big dust clouds.) And electricity.
_Goddamn_ is all I can say to this
This looks really amazing and so smooth. How many fps do you prefer animating at???
Looks like FPS is 24. At 00:08.
24FPS but exposure is a mix of 1's, 2's and 3's
Amazing!
Very cool! Thanks!
I wish there's was a sequel to this um spa can you make a big screen sequel to treasure planet petty please 🥺🙏👍
Cool
I love him✨️

There seems to be no Mac version of Spa Blender, only for Windows ... On the github site it says: "To test Blender SPA on a different platform you would have to get and compile the Blender fork from its sources and then manually install the 2D Animation and Sequencer add ons." Does anyone have instructions on HOW to do that (compile the Blender fork from it's sources and then manually install the 2D Animation and Sequencer add ons) ???

Happy late Christmas to Klaus, Netflix animation
You guys, have great character design
Draw an Owl, step 1 draw a circle, step 2 draw the rest of the owl, step 3 your 2d-3d animation is complete.
how can you position the character on the exact dimension on the 3D model? cuz every time i do it, it ends up like the last example u shoed (the old ways). do u go frame by frame sketching then spinning the view to see if u placed it right? if so, that will take forever!
Hi! You can duplicate the window and on the secondary workspace check the right depth for your GP object without having to go in and out every time. Also, if you establish the depth on important keys, you don't need to change it for every new drawing, especially if the character is touching ground with the feet. The depth snaps as soon as the next foot takes the weight. Still, it's a bit of work, yes, but there are a few solutions and workarounds (for example in some case you can make Blender interpolate the depth automatically and then break down the tween in keyframes.)
@@alfredocassano3194 thank u for the answer, i will try the first method, its easier than spinning the camera after each drawing. is there a specific option for the "interlope" method? honestly i dont understand what you men by it or how would it work
