When do you think Medicaid will start approving cochlear implants and BAHAs on a more wide scale for adults with disabilities? These tend to be on the more expensive side and not many funding options are available
Youe show is so wonderful....it is a very necessary part of education that only YOU have been consistently providing, on CZcams, for several years...I'm so grateful for all that you've done, in plain language, that everyone (not just speech language pathologists and audiologists can use), but, for such a wide audience...having said that...I understand that you've hired a professional company to caption these weekly videos (that's great)...but, until that's done, there are still many of us who are HOH or DEAF, who watch the show, and...we need captions, in real time and/or ..even for the next day, if we are living in a different time zone...you wrote about not wanting to use autocaptions, because they are often so imperfect...but, aren't they better than no captions at all? At least the auto captions provide a sense of context...I'm lucky..I have an Apple iPhone and iPad , with iOS 16..so, I can use the built in captions on my device..but, for anyone who doesn't have caption software built into their device, they are left with no captions, until you finally find a way to add them, which is, at times, days later...thanks so much and sorry to ask so many times, but, it's really disappointing, when I want to watch your show the next day and there are no captions at all....Sincerely and with great appreciation for all of this very important information, presented in a most professional manner. RK
@@RonnieKaufman1 because accuracy matters. The autocaption on CZcams is horrible so I pay extra to have the entire episode captioned by a captioning service. Unfortunately, this takes time, but the hard of hearing community deserves accurate captions.
@@DrCliffAuD I understand that you pay extra for the professional captions, but..since your audience is comprised of DEAF or HOH people, wouldn't some captions (although not perfect) be better than NO captions at all? Your show is amazing...I'm so grateful for it....don't mean to sound ungrateful
So informational, friendly, and professional!
Glad you think so!
Does the cochlear implant cause issues with having an MRI on your brain or neck?

Does the implant destroy the cochlea? If the implant fails can you go back to a hearing aid?
If the CI doesn't work, you cannot go back to a hearing aid.
@@DrCliffAuD thanks for answering that.
Question
Tumor not growing and getting an implant
What do you think ?
Gathering info now as the expensive aid does not work at all for my SSHL I was blessed with one night. Plus all the tagalong’s 🤦♂️
Why only one implant? Why not an implant for each ear?
Depends on the person, their hearing loss, and their insurance. If 2 makes sense and insurance will cover them, then get 2.
No captions
Sorry it takes about 24 hours for us to get captions on these live videos.
@@DrCliffAuD ok no worries I’ll check back later
Still no captions. So disappointed. Why must we wait for days before the captions appear?
