Makes their job a crap ton easier if criminals are too afraid of homeowners to break into houses. If everyone knows everyone's packing, no one's drawing.
I love this sheriff. We ARE our own first responders. When an (armed) intruder is breaking into your home, the only help that will arrive in time is yourself!
Polk County Sherrif is on the level. I remember he said something like (paraphrasing) "Anyone thinking of rioting (around the time Saint Floyd died) in polk country, trying to harass and break into people's homes, you'll be blown back down the steps." What a boss. If every Sheriff in the US had this attitude, there would be a lot less law abiding victims and more repeat felons victims. The way it should be.
*Colion: Thank you for featuring Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson. Like Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno and the majority of other County Sheriffs, this man gets it right. We Floridians are truly blessed. Cheers!*
Unfortunately California is a sanctuary state for felons and illegal aliens...the democrats in charge there do their best to keep guns out of your homes.
His entire attitude towards criminals being shot by homeowners is exactly the right stance to take. That tells criminals if they enter homes they are literally risking their lives and that will cut crime way down in his county especially residential breaking and entering. Bravo sheriff!!!

Or can you tell the difference between a Criminal kicking your door in vs a no knock warrant being served to the wrong address?
@@bokc_nonpopularsalt1011 No knock warrants are touching the very fine line toward being unconstitutional already, not to mention dangerous. In my opinion if police were to serve a no knock warrant without announcing themselves and the homeowner shot thinking they were intruders, it would be pretty easy to prove without reasonable doubt that he was simply defending himself and not attacking police intentionally. That would be if he survived, which is unlikely.

Well according to recent studies performed by the DOJ the average American commits 3 federal crimes a day. So everyone is a felon just not prosecuted yet
I lived in Australia from 89-93 and there was a high profile case where a armed burglar broke into a house and proceeded to assault a child, the father shot and killed the offender and the justice system in Australia wanted him to go to prison for 20 years for defending himself and his family. Their system is extremely broken there. Thankfully we have the second Amendment here in the USA, for now…
What's frightening (and frankly, *inexcusable* ) is that self-serving, uber-'woke,' Democrat politicians and district attorneys are _desperately_ trying to replicate Australia's "extremely broken" excuse for a criminal justice system here in the U.S., particularly in "blue" states like California and Massachusetts.
The US Government will have to risk an armed civil war along with mass mutiny by their own military in order to take away our guns like the Australians and British did.
The system isn't broken in Australia. It works exactly as it's intended to work. Those poor people are under complete despotism. They brought it on themselves though by handing in their firearms. Now they get sent to concentration camps for the invisible boogyman and forced to take their children to sports stadiums to be hit with a bio-weapon.
@@EnthalpyAndEntropy I mean, you can say that but it really just isn't true. The state tells us what isn't isn't allowed all the time and that's including with defensive shootings. @@EnthalpyAndEntropy The US government won't ever be tyrannical to the point that the people will feel the need to rise up together and the together part is as important as the right to own a gun. Without the militia working together, it's nothing. If 2A worked then we wouldn't have any tyrannical laws but we have plenty and more every day. All 2A really does is stop outside threats from invading because being invaded would unify the people. The way our government works, 50%+ of the nation can become tyrannical and the other half can't really do shit about it. They can scrape together enough rights to feel content, that's it. but but... gun bad, take gun away everyone will be happy! we dont need violence, if a person breaks into our home he must be desperate, we should share with him some food, shelter, and clothes. theres no way the home intruder is possibly just trying to enter our homes just to cause bodily harm to us. whats the chance they might be a psychopath? the type of person the text above belongs to may be a bit dumb, but their heart is in the right place. thats why we need to take up arms and defend those that wont themselves.
It’s pretty funny how divided the left actually is amongst itself when you start talking to them. Friend of mine is a stout liberal leftist by her own admission, yet on her 21st the first thing she did was buy a handgun and was super happy about it since she lives in a questionable part of town. Meanwhile, I have another friend that considers themselves a moderate Democrat but believes I’m potentially dangerous for owning a gun. They live way out in the suburbs in the very center of an upscale gated community.
The left doesn’t want to abolish the police. They want a police state and the police in their pocket. Phase one is creating apparent anarchy to justify it. Don’t fall for the misdirection.
Kudos, kudos and more kudos to you and this sheriff. As a man, husband, father and grandfather, I am ultimately responsible for the safety of my family and not law enforcement.
Its what my dad would always tell me about being in a life threatening situation and having to rely on the police showing up for protection: "When seconds matter, the police are only minutes away." It is so important to have the best and proper protection to give you the upper hand when it comes to protecting your life, and like Colion perfectly stated, you are your first responder.
This sherif isn’t out of Miami. He’s out of Pace and Milton FL. I wouldn’t normally mention it, except that he’s my sheriff and we’re really proud of him. Having him as governor, this guy as sheriff, and Matt Gates as our representative…. I see this as the best county in the best state, in the best country.
You’re right. It’s an exceptional state. It’s my homestate. But there’s work to be done. There’s still un-American foulness taking place here. One of my brother’s best friends is losing land that’s been in his family for generations to eminent domain. In Polk county, I believe.

Yup. “We prefer that you do, actually”. God Bless this Sheriff and Sheriff Grady. I love this Sheriff’s simple, cold statistical analysis regarding the recidivism rate of dead people. Deep.
Problem is when cops get absurd with no knock raids over petty shit or far to little information, they increase the odds of hitting wrong homes. And this will lead to innocent deaths.
What so few outside of Florida understand is that this Sheriff is merely telling the public, in layman's terms, what Florida law says about the use of lethal force. Without going into too much detail, the law here in Florida states that merely by entering an occupied home, apartment, domicile, tent or even automobile unlawfully and by force the legal occupant is automatically assumed under the law to have a justified, reasonable fear for their life and are rendered immune from both criminal and/or civil liability for the use of force against the unlawful intruder. Now, the use of force will still be investigated, but as long as everything happened the way you the legal occupant said it did, no charges will be filed, no civil suit can be pursued by the perp or his survivors. You can still be held liable for wild rounds fired, though; so accuracy still counts.
Yes that’s great but FYI, DeSantis, like Abbot, is World Economic Forum. It’s really his wife that’s the “official” “member”, but he holds little events for them there in your state all the time. Never trust people entangled with the WEF.
I love the Sherriff's in Florida, wish we had more like them in Colorado. Thankfully our awesome Sherriff in my county, Justin Smith is a godsend, just like these guys. We all need more good Sherriff's!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Many years ago I heard the story of a business owner who shot and killed an intruder in his home. No charges were filed and as the story went the Sheriff bought the man a box of ammo .357 I believe. As years passed I happened to stop by that man's business and struck up a conversation, he verified the story. Life in a small rural county.
If someone is breaking in my home I’m not gonna screw around and wait to see how much they’re capable of. I’ve grown up in the gym learning different martial arts but recently got diagnosed with MS and even though I still feel confident in my ability to protect myself but it isn’t worth the risk. To solve the problem with crime, we need to empower the citizens to have and safely use their firearms against intruders without fear of penalty for defending themselves, their family and property.
@@j.l.8000 Personal defense of home and family is a completely different concept from being a vigilante. It's a deterrent that works.
@@doublebrewski1855 I was referring to the tendency of the Media and law enforcement in general to paint anyone who defends themselves as taking the law into their own hands, ie vigilante. A home invasion leading to a death seems almost certain to result in a long trial, both criminal and/or civil. Just because a local Sherriff does not want to charge you doesn't mean the State DA won't.
You're kidding yourself if you think the way things go in your garbage state/county are the same here. They're not. If it's blatant that a home invader, who had invaded numerous houses WHILE the police were actively in pursuit, after a criminal with a rap sheet like this douche had gets shot when in one of those numerous houses, after days of reports of the same in the area, our police wouldn't investigate any further into his death unless a statement or evidence found in his wake or on his person gave them reason to suspect otherwise. If you recall, it took effort to get the case on trayvon Martin's shooting to get a second glance. We don't care about the rights of criminals in Florida, if you die while perpetrating a crime like this, we generally say "good riddance to bad rubbish" and move on. We have the best stand your ground laws in the US: if you're being aggressive to me at a gas station and I shoot you dead then and there, and a cursory investigation involving witnesses and cctv shows that you were acting in a way that could reasonably be taken as threatening, and they don't have any statements from witnesses or footage showing otherwise, or evidence recovered from your corpse, that's going to be the end of the investigation into your death. The cops have better things to do with their time than waste it on an obvious scumbag.

I can’t believe the Sheriff actually said it publicly… That was awesome! We have been erroneously programmed to believe that the job of law enforcement is to “protect and serve”. This feels warm and fuzzy but, law enforcement is only authorized to enforce the law, which means that law enforcement has no real authority to do much of anything until someone violates a law. Then, they can apprehend the alleged violator and bring them to trial. So, simply put, only AFTER the bad guy kills you and your family, does law enforcement have the Constitution authority to do its job. The only one who can protect you, your family, and your property is you… I am, and you are the Militia.
If you have children never signed the zero tolerance policy for them to enter School. This is signing away your kids is right to self-defense and write to a trial. This is part of that conditioning
All law enforcement needs to get trained and counseled by this sheriff . This is exactly how one upholds the constitution. Thank you for being one of the good guys sir sheriff 👍🏻

As a current Law Enforcement Officer, i agree with everything he’s saying at the end. It could take a few mins for Law Enforcement to respond to your call for help and honestly, every second counts in a time of need. You have a right to protect yourselves and you have the second amendment. A good criminal is a dead one.
My only concern here is the over use of no knocks, causing confusing conflicts that end in death and injury. I'm wondering on his mindset on that. To many raids leads to mistakes. And unfortunately cops are not as understanding of citizens in this as they want us to be. Been a few cases, one about two years ago, cops hit a wrong house and the first cop in got sent to glory. The police went after the home owner for murder 1, despite them creating the confusion in the first place. They got mad when he won. A cop thinking like this and excessive use of raids is incompatible. And I don't this it is the traditional home defense rights that is at fault for that.
@@icecold9511 they need to get rid of no knocks and announce themselves it’s that simple. Be trained and ready to face a head on threat or an evading threat. It’s their Jobs not the homeowners.
@@emjae7387 There is plenty of alternative methods. The rise of no knock raids is mostly due to small departments getting a swat team to feel like real players. The police version of keeping up with the Jones. But they had no legitimate need for a swat team, and had to justify its existence. So they dumbed down what justified it. They also have atrocious training.
Apparently not because if someone has been found guiltily of a domestic incident or had a firearm on them for protection with alcohol in their system, they are deemed a felon. And then stripped of their rights. This is EXACTLY why as veteran myself, I have no problem when a situation goes sideways, if an LEO ends up downed. Until the 2A can’t be undermined by corrupt LEOs or unconstitutional federal state local laws that are enforced; send it. Even people who served time in jail for REAL crime. Ie were aware of their action and caused detriment like theft or whatever. The moment they have served their sentence in jail and released, their full rights need restored. To anyone thinking politically, let be a reminder most Veterans ending up in jail because their reality comes from the Constitution, not some local law passed by corrupt mayor; they vote Republican more often then not. So as a veteran, If I ever knew a veteran that was committed of a felony, and they carried a firearm, I wouldn’t say shit. I’ve realized how incredibly easy it is to label someone that now in days. She had a no contact order with her ex-husband and believed it might have been him. I was the responding deputy and the only one on duty in a rural county. It took me 20 minutes at 130 mph to get to her because I happened to be on the other side of the county. It out to be her cat knocked a large metal candle holder into her kitchen window and broke it. The point here is that when seconds count, the cops are minutes away and you may need to protect yourself until we get there.
Right. Cops are typically there to pick up the pieces and hope those pieces lead to clues on who did the crime. In a perfect scenario, the pieces left to be scraped up are parts of the criminal due to a would-be victim defending themselves, their family, and property with every fiber of their being

Yesterday I asked a local cop a question about making your own pew and carrying it concealed without any "code numbers" on it in a state with Constitutional Carry. He claimed it wasn't legal to make your own at all. The vast majority of cops out there have no clue what the laws really are beyond traffic tickets.
Well, yeah. Cops aren't lawyers, yet they exist to enforce the laws, and are largely immune from consequences even if they get it all horribly wrong. As if even a big brained lawyer could know every in and out of just the criminal code, let alone every aspect of every other federal and state law that ties into it. Can't imagine why you'd expect an insightful answer, honestly.
It’s funny that you mention that, my grandfather was a cop, wasn’t a good one either, barely even knew traffic laws himself or much of any of the laws. But one thing he did support was the use of fire arms in self defense situations, hell as a kid he put me through self defense training and even made me memorize certain guns, put me through time trials on taking a Glock 9 and several other hand guns like the S&W SD 40, S&W 1911, sub compact sig 45 which I still have and is ready and loaded for home defense use, etc. and several rifles like the AK-47, the AR-15, S&W M&P15, etc. apart and back together. I don’t talk to the dude anymore because he’s a massive prick always has been to the family, but I will always appreciate his teachings about fire arms and fire arm safety! Without that I’d probably be on the wrong side of this argument and ignorant to the importance of self defense as several of the schools that I went too never talked about it and if they did they were completely against the use of fire arms or fire arms being in the hands of the people minus a select few of my teachers who supported the second amendment which was a very small amount.
When the second amendment was written, there was no such thing as a police department. Every city, every town, had their own local militia which would stand up in times of war or be called upon by the locals to catch criminals or fight off attackers. The towns and cities were self-reliant and it was expected that every able-bodied man would know how to shoot and use a gun so they could defend not only themselves but their community. The first police force wasn't created until 60 years later, and even then only in Boston. It took almost a century before America had anything like what we have today. So the 2nd amendment was not intended for the Police. It was intended for every person who wanted to defend their home, their community, their country. This guy has it right. Completely. We can't rely on the Police, they won't ever be there fast enough. Instead, we need to be ready to do it ourselves, if needed. Home invasions often lead to injury or death for the homeowner. This criminal had a history that basically made it a matter of time until he accidentally killed someone. I'd rather the criminal die than the innocent home owner.

Well according to recent studies performed by the DOJ the average American commits 3 federal crimes a day. So everyone is a felon just not prosecuted yet
If prosecutors and judges punish criminals it can also help get the job done. Pews always work but law and punishment are great deterrents.
Fuckin Australia
The system isn't broken in Australia. It works exactly as it's intended to work. Those poor people are under complete despotism. They brought it on themselves though by handing in their firearms. Now they get sent to concentration camps for the invisible boogyman and forced to take their children to sports stadiums to be hit with a bio-weapon.
We will always have the 2nd Amendment. Changing it requires the approval of 75% of state legislatures and 75% of both houses of Congress.

Allowed implies the state has the authority to allow or disallow. They don't.
@@EnthalpyAndEntropy I mean, you can say that but it really just isn't true. The state tells us what isn't isn't allowed all the time and that's including with defensive shootings. What we need is a clear set of bare minimum rules regarding what is or isn't allowed. What is allowed should be based on logic and science.
Unfortunately that's not always the case
@@Psychobob no, it's true. It just doesn't stop tyrants from doing tyrant things. That's our job. That's what the second amendment is for.

The people who aren't content can't do anything except wait for collapse which will potentially never happen.
People are taught and believe we don't need guns because nothing ever happens to us directly and as a whole that proves we do. We don't educate people on the constitution enough to maintain the reason it exists.
When you remember the other side on this topic, you start to realize how hypocritical they are. If you try to defund the police but you don’t own a gun because you think they’re scary, how tf are you supposed to defend yourself, your loved ones and/or your property from dangerous criminals?
but but... gun bad, take gun away everyone will be happy! we dont need violence, if a person breaks into our home he must be desperate, we should share with him some food, shelter, and clothes. theres no way the home intruder is possibly just trying to enter our homes just to cause bodily harm to us. whats the chance they might be a psychopath?

My only concern here is the over use of no knocks, causing confusing conflicts that end in death and injury. I'm wondering on his mindset on that.
To many raids leads to mistakes. And unfortunately cops are not as understanding of citizens in this as they want us to be. The police went after the home owner for murder 1, despite them creating the confusion in the first place. They got mad when he won.

Great anecdote. Glad it was just her cat and not a violent ex-husband. Your point is right-on...cops can only do so much. Thanks for your service.
Even if you were within easy reach, cops are often the bad guy themselves. My guns are for shooting cops the same as anyone else who intends me harm.
Right. Cops are typically there to pick up the pieces and hope those pieces lead to clues on who did the crime. In a perfect scenario, the pieces left to be scraped up are parts of the criminal due to a would-be victim defending themselves, their family, and property with every fiber of their being

Listen to and get to know every sound it makes when you load a magazine or when you rack the slide, so if it makes an odd sound you can identify it quickly. But, I'd wager you already know this. All the best!
We prefer that you do! The greatest statement from a law enforcement ever.
No. The greatest statement was *"Because evil can never be dead enough."*
Every state needs to be like this
This is a god given right that we are safe in our homes and should not face punishment for protecting our said homesteads from squatters or thieves !
Now THAT’S how it’s supposed to be. Encourage and protect law abiding citizens and show these coward ass criminals that we don’t have any love for them and they will lose their lives if they attempt to victimize people. This was a powerful message and I respect the hell out of that man. 👏🏾👏🏾
Well said!
…Amen.
And suck it anti-gunners.
Agreed
Agree 100% Break into a home, get a bullet. Seems fair to me!
“…. If somebody breaks into your house in Santa Rosa County, and you shoot and kill them, chances of them reoffending after that are zero, and we like those odds….”
As an internet mathematician, can confirm, he’s 100% correct.
Ministry of Truth fact checkers have determined your post to be mostly false, because they could still vote Democrat
This is true. To date, no evil person has rose from the dead to commit a crime.

C Noir is 100% correct! Keep a good firearm in your possession & know how to use it safely & PRACTICE!!!
Hats off to this sheriff. EVERYONE should have the same mindset 💯
A firearm, self-reliance, training and tactics are priceless tools that everyone can use! Be the militia. Be hard to kill. Be the hardened target that criminals avoid. It all comes down to your willingness to believe in yourself and your drive to better yourself.
"If someone is breaking into your house, you're more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County. We prefer that you do actually."
A truly legendary statement.
that shit made me laugh hard. I don't disagree personally but it was just the way he said it.
Yes, yes, yes!!
@@aaronburdon221 This sherrif has a way with words don't he. I laughed my ass off at the way he said a lot of things. What this sheriff says is true. The way he said it is what made it absolutely hilarious. Need more like him.
Haha you’re right
In California the suspect shoots you in your own home and still sues you and you go to prison for being a victim
How much you wanna bet this sheriff’s office has been defunded before the sheriff said this
in Fla??
I moved my family from NYC 5 years ago and I finally got my CCW permit. I recently came across you on CZcams and immediately subscribed. Sending you love, brother.
my kind of sheriff
I LOVE THIS SHERIFF!!! There should be more like him everywhere.
A straight up sheriff telling it like it is. How much of a drain has that one criminal been on the economy? Increased insurance, jail time, etc. etc.
This sheriff is awesome. Bravo sir, law bidding citizens across the USA support you. 👍
Self defense is really a common sense - life saving resort and it’s self explanatory. You will never know what savages are willing to do once they enter your space. Thank you, Colion!
We've all seen what you savages are capable of when you invade sovereign nations.
I live in Arizona, when a criminal enters your home by force you can shoot first ask questions later, you do Not have to retreat!!!!
Time to start beating porch pirates with baseball bats
One of the deputies that arrived at my home after 4 ex-cons tried to do a home invasion was mad at me for pointing my shotgun at one of them instead of talking my way out🤦🏽 She arrived 14 minutes later after the incident. I guess I was supposed to plead with them to not invade my home and possibly injure or kill me and my handicapped mother. Another deputy who arrived later exonerated me when he told us I did everything exactly as I was supposed to.
That deputy was an idiot
How many shells?
I love living in Florida, this Police officer is so correct, Thank You Sir!!!
That sheriff is GREAT!!!
Love this sheriff! He isn't a politician but we really need more "not a politician" in office.
Policy Book Pollyannas they don't even know traffic laws.
@@Barskor1 True
I'm so glad to have my Sheriff. You can carve whatever serial in it. Interact with his Deputies more than him, maybe I'll get to old for that shit.
Thank you sheriff from Santa Rosa County
Every Sheriff should be just like this Sheriff.
That Sheriff is my kind of guy! We need more people like him in this country right now!
I get you 100% but if we can’t rely on the police… why do we need them?
@@fernieibarra9025 I see it as an alternative for the folks who don't have the ability or means to defend themselves. Not everyone has the guts or ability to defend themselves.(edit. Grammar)
@@fernieibarra9025 If a crime is committed upon me or my property, I don't have time to track the criminal down or recover stolen items. We do rely on police for that; we CAN'T rely on them to show up in two seconds when that's all the time a person has to react to a break-in. Self-defense in the heat of the moment is dependant on...self.
I hate to disagree with you, but guards have been around for millenniums before America was built. Sure they weren’t called the police, but they did have guards that would ensure that a bread thief was prosecuted. The second amendment was not intended to police ourselves, it was intended to police the government. The founding fathers knew that the only thing that would stop a tyrannical government was to give people the power. They took a huge risk, in fact many of the founding fathers did not want to give people that much power. James Madison wrote what was said during the formation of the constitution and many of the founding fathers called the average citizen “mob, uneducated, not worthy of decisions” its incredible what the majority of the founding fathers thought of us, but just a handful wanted to try to give people the power
@@fernieibarra9025 we need them to do routine mundane things that many of us prefer not to do. Like patrol remote areas, maintain national boarder and crossing, give directions to tourists, manage “lost and found” counter in police station (think Japanese police) etc…
So, refreshing to hear that.
Colin Noir is welcome in my home at any time on any day. I am so thankful for his truthfulness.
All sheriffs (and law enforcement) should have this sheriffs’s mentality toward crime! Break into a home... Forfeit all your rights!!
I love this guy, we need more cops like him! "If you break into someone's house you're rolling the dice" Bingo! Home invasion's aren't a joke, you're risking your life when you break into someone's home, prison is the least of your worries!
WE THE PEOPLE MUST DEMAND THIS….Nice Job Sheriff.
I grew up in Florida and this is a common attitude. Why anyone would rob a house in FL I have no idea. Countless stories of dead burglars. 🤷♂️
I couldn't agree more with what that sheriff said!!! Luckily I live in a small backwoods town and our local police have the same feelings towards how to deal with criminals and our right to defend ourselves with guns. Needless to say our police get to spend more time drinking coffee because I'd say conservatively 75% of the people you see out and about are armed even the little old lady on her way to church...
Same around here. Had to call the Sheriff out years ago for a snooper who was peering in windows and trying to get in the back door late at night, right as my mother and sister were getting home. He apparently told my parents not to hesitate to unload on a trespasser snooping around the house, especially at night in the middle of nowhere. He was later caught, and turned out he was a member of the local cult that had been breaking into homes and stealing women's clothes. You never know what a violent(or in this case crazy) person is capable of.
@@youbetterwakeup2449 Amen to that...
