Hey guys!
I will show you today how to retwist locs.
There are plenty of techniques available depending on the client's hair texture.
Chiam's hair is quite coarse so a twisting technique with some gel is enough to maintain is roots.
Also, I like to style the locs after retwisting them. That will help keep the root fresh and tidy longer!
I used Mouldin' Gel Wax - STYLIN DREDZ: amzn.to/2RrcamZ

washing locs are important and you can wash your hair the 1st four months....H2O actually helps your hair loc quicker....
Very Neat . The Little Notes In The Corner Are Beyond Helpful ... Good Job !
I love love loveeeee that product. I been using it on my son for 3 years. His hair down his back now and his hair looks so polished. I don't use alot because you don't need alot. Its the best tho!
Olivia Rose i did this styl to my dreads by myself. it was easy doing it.

just water in locs people. get a spray bottle with a nice essential oil of choice with water and drops a few drops and spritz hair often to keep locs moisturized and to Loc faster. no grease, no wax no eco styler gel, black gel etc. it will cause build up. yes it can Loc faster but you'll dirty ugly moldy locs too. I have never had dirty Loc issues. shea butter or caster oil type oils on scalp only. *remember clean locs shine not greasy locs.
Kayla nwachukwu I use hair food is that ok
Hi @roll up. I just remembered this comment and saw all the typos in it. Sorry. But to answer your question if the product have any petrolatum as the first ingredient I would not recommend using it on the hair or scalp. Natural oils work well on the scalp and thicker oils such as Castor oil and shea butters are good as well for winter moisture sealants. I am just concerned that when one goes to wash their locs the petrolatum products may not all come out and then you have build up and then it molds and what not. If you must use grease use very little and on scalp only and do not use to rub into locs as to get them to shine. CLEAN LOCS SHINE. good lock on your journey
Kayla nwachukwu do you have any way people can reach you cause I have more questions
life saver never no wax .glo.or lime I'm starting and I work I would love to get a style I can wear for 2week or more like do wax or lime get the dread hard on style or bad all the way wrong
I second this. I only use water and olive oil on my husband's locs during a retwist and during moisturizing. He never experience build-up or a flaky scalp and his locs have gotten very long, past his shoulder as of now. We started out trying different loc cremes and gels made for retwisting and found that they caused severe flaking, itchy scalp, build-up and we're just heavy on his hair.
First time I see your vids love it 😍
This has helped soo much with styling. My boyfriend wants me to learn doing his hair and wants to have styles too. It was very easy following what you did.
Damn, she's got some skulls. Those are clean as hell.
I was hoping you showed how to do that style, a tutorial.
Wow beautifully done. O he so cute too lol you guys are fun
Nyc one dear. Grate job
keep them coming
I can't really tell what you doing because the video is not clear.....
Straight skills!
thanks to you i know how to do this style
woooooooooooow awesome i love it
i love it so much rasta
Wax is horrible for locs in the long run
Do. a mixture it’s less concentrated
I ordered the moulding wax gel do you have to do anything special
Conditioning should not leave build up in locs if it does change your conditioner
Nice
I love it pp

Does anyone have advice on portioning like this or a link?
nice style
His hair looks nice. Good job. I have a question. I just started my loc journey four months go. my stylist is very cool. I've gotten styles a few times and liked it a lot because I get way less frizz than when I just wear my hair down. I usually go every 5-6 weeks to get retwist. He told me it's not good to wear my style that long because my hair needs to breathe. I just know that if I wear it down I get maybe a 7-10 days before my frizz starts and then I feel like my hair is messy vs if I just leave it in the style until it's time for a retwist. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I always tied it down each night and still my frizz comes early :(
You must embrace your locs. I am 2 years in and felt the same way in the beginning. It will get better...trust the process and your stylist. Good luck 👍
That's cool
Are u retwisting and styling at the same time?
Step by step plz
Nice.
very nice job. I have a question, I've been washing my girls hair with shampoo and their hair is locking at the ends but the middle of each loc isn't tight. what do I do?
+jnefitema yep u can crochet them to loc em with a crochet needle
jermaica thomas
oh okay, thank you
+jermaica thomas how do u crochet the dreads
*****
I bought a very small crochet needle. I think it's .5 mm and I just go from side to side with the needle until I reach the bottom. There's some vids on CZcams that show you how to do it.
no conditioner because it might cause build up but use gel, wax or shea butter that isn't rinsed out??
This is what happens when you follow the advice of those that don't care about hair, you end up taking the myths that person believe and applying it to you life like it's a fact.
-If your worried about buildup with your conditioner then prepoo instead or water down your conditioner (and shampoo) to help it spread throughout your locs evenly and be able to wash out properly
-not washing enough will only hinder the locking process because hair thats excessively dirty (like 4months) has trouble locking not only because of all the natural oils but the dirt, dust and other contributors to build up will indeed build up when not washed leading to very loose locs and holes whenever you do wash and even worst which I know for sure because I had to do rehab on a person with a head of locs with believed all of this and had acquires terrible scalp fungus only when he stopped taking care of his locs which not surprisingly made his locs fall out. In no way can you have such unhealthy and unnatural habits for natural hair and ever expect it to thrive everyone is different so while I wash my locs once to twice a week others wash every 2 week or even every month you will know when your hair needs to be washed because it will become clear in multiple ways so take this location journey as an opportunity to get to know your hair better because your hair doesn't stop being hair because it's locked, so it still needs to be treated like hair.
-shea butter and other oils can be fine for locs when used as intended... As a moisturizer... not a styling product so if you do use oil or butter on your scalp or sparingly on your locs you'll be fine especially because build is mostly a problem with store bought products because they are petroleum based which makes then harder to wash out and makes it harder for your hair follicles to breathe and thrive so use products as intended and be mindful of what products; and not only what products but HOW you USE the products you use in your hair, because their are so many different variations of product for a reason everyone is different so don't expect the same product/s that work for someone else to work for you even if they have the same hair texture and porosity
I thought your voice was an automated system 💀
he has a beautiful smile
HE LOOKS LIKE JASON DERULO WITH DREADS
Can you show how u did this hairstyle in slow motion without speeding it up please???
Are you in the US?
Will styling your locs to early stop the buddin process ??? (See page) I know can make thin if done too often but I really curious if I should take this out sooner then later . My lotician seems to see no issue styling this early I was just curious
Styling early is not a problem. I just hope your loctician isn't lying to you and making you think that 4months is how long you should go without washing your hair like recommended in this video
V V not at all we wash every 3 weeks at least once a month . I would never thanks for the reassurance though
Gel keeps the hair looking neat and nice but it stays in the loc and produces serious build-up after a while. That's what happened to me.
You are right....but i think buildup is good for helping loc up your hair.
+Mariah Hendricks but it's not good when you want to keep your locs for a long time
I just rinse my son's locs with an acv rinse. But i wash 2x or 3x depending on the products i used to retwist. No build up issues. But then again... I wash and twist his locs every 2 weeks
how long was his hair to be able to do this, a 2 year dreadlock journey ??
Nacilia Napoleon Monestime I started my son with braid til it grew long enough then I dread his hair of course taking the braids out it was 6 month to a year
fresh
、
what style is that called
Monae Mims she said cornrows but it's more barellroll
washing helps to loc faster
Angela Elaine a SNAKE
It depends on the texture
I would have to disagree. Moisture helps hair to loc, but shampooing the twist can make them come down making the process to actually lock longer.
@@nadesinmylunchbox actually washing you hair is important for the locking process
@@love0the0fans no hair texture EVER REQUIRES you to go months without washing since that will only hinder the locking process
Hi
Please can you make it a little detail?😎
Step by step pls
ShalomVery nice locs
+Jacquelyn Yah Thanks!

Honestly, I think you moving way to fast...especially to those who are new to the retwisting thing lol both me and my daughter are loc 👸🏾❤️ but yeah...way to fast 🤷🏾♀️
Avoid wax... u will have to soak your dreads ro get all of it out it remains in the locks for a while.
Your hand was up in the way the entire time and I didn't see anything that was being done.
Condition your hair I don’t care what kind of hair you have. Whoever tell you not to condition your hair don’t know what their talking about
He cute😶
This was no help you should do step by step
🤢 yuck. No shampoo for the 1st 4 months
She is giving HORRIBLE ADVICE. If you wouldn't go 4months without bathing, why on earth would we treat our hair & scalp any differently. I can't believe she gave that kind of advice. That is nasty
TF YOU DO JUST ONE AND YOURE FUCKING DONE??? THATS A NO NO FROM ME PISH!!
