Well done and an often overlooked topic of how to get new people into the genre on a realistic budget :)
Great video this was a great introduction for those who really want to start sim racing!
Keep up the great work, Shaun
WOW SHAUN. You are totally on fire! I took a break for a few weeks from sim racing and your output has been insanely good, just catching up now. Great job, man!
Another great video Shaun always love seeing your videos. I finally got a PC and looking to join you on the monthly hump track day. Been a solely console racing for last 20 years. Currently still running CSL elite set up with Porsche 918 wheel and V3 inverted pedals.
I always planed that for my next upgrade, then DD wheel price dropped lol
Great advice
Short Feedback for the Thrustmaster T248 bought it in June 2022... FFB defect in August.... Unit failure in December... and again FFB defect March 23... Good Price point. Precise Steering in AC & ACC or Automobilista 1 & 2 but too many repairs for my taste... cheers
Although the T300RS is good, but it lacks the H shifter transmission if you need it
The G29 + loadcell pedals is setup of aliens tbh
I have the T248 but my experience right now is that it’s the McLaren/Maserati/Alfa Romeo of racing wheels. Not even 6 months into owning it and the FFB shut off and it doesn’t calibrate properly. Apparently this is a somewhat common issue after researching and only way to fix get Thrustmaster themself to look at it or replace it entirely however the experience I did have with it was great the LCD is super cool and it’s very responsive the paddles make it feel like a Race car with how loud they are but be careful and never use FFB 3 daily because I think something slipped or a gear shredded.
You know Alfa Romeo only was unreliable back in the day right they beat most modern American cars now
thx
TSPC racer or TSWC xbox version is a great 6.4nm legit belt driven , smooth af , under load.
I have been racing with the thrustmaster tx with thrustmaster shifter since 2017 but since then have upgraded pedals to t-lcm and the sparco rally wheel ….looking to upgrade my servo which would you recommend?
Buy fanatec. I was in the same shoes. And oh man what a difference. You can still get good $ for the thrustmaster stuff
That’s what I’m kinda thinking just kinda waiting cause there never in stock
@@travislohneis224for that reason I ended up just getting a CSL elite base with the nice Playstation wheel for $400. Nothing else was in stock and I also needed a setup that came with the wheel. The pedals and shifter were on sale as well. The quality is very impressive. I cheaped out in 2016 and got the whole thrustmaster setup, (which was good don’t get me wrong)But I should have just hit the bullet and got this from the get go. The clubsport V3 pedals are a work of art
oh damn rippin off the wwe opening sound lol
Id say logitech good enough for 90% of racers and amazing value
great video and secret tip! maybe you can give a similar video for 1000$ budget a try! I do wish fanatec had more stock :/
Great suggestion! That is one of the next coming videos.
@@TheSimpit I've been very pleased with my combo of CSL DD & Heusinkveld Sprint pedals. I know that goes over the $1000 mark but the peace of mind with reliability and improved performance I think is worth it. I also paired it with a Thrustmaster TH8A shifter. To keep costs down, all of the wheels have been bought used. :)
Is there any way to rent a set somehow? Ive always liked karting, but I have no idea if sim racing will be my thing. Id love to just try for an hour before spending the money.
Hey Dane, not really sure if there are places that can do that. I would suggest finding a place that has sims for entertainment. There are quite a few places that do that nowadays.
If you need more help, let us know.
I have a question, which steering wheel is better to choose for the entry level? Thrustmaster TMX Pro or Logitech G29? I am thinking about buying second hand equipment as well.
G29 for sure
had my 2nd handlogitech g29for about 3 years. works perfectly
Anything belt driven over the g29.
Road vibrations on G29 on a long straight for example you can't feel anything but the gears vibrating and the horrible rattling noise.
Best thing I did was getting rid of that for t300.
@@thedave7760 you hasd a broken one i guess, mines never acted that way, nor has it for literally millions and iot IS specificsally entry level belt driven
@@PazLeBon g29 has gears I know I took mine apart to see if I could fix it.
Hey Shaun do you know if I buy the Moza r5 if I can use my Logitech g920 pedals? The ones that come with the r5 I belive aren't very good from what I hear. Thanks Tim
Just buy the additional clutch and brake mod for 70€. Then these pedals are better.
Should do an update to this video alot has changed, dd bundles under 500 are out there now. Moza, fanatec, cammus
We will! We plan on doing a holiday's buyers guide here soon.
Is the pxn v10 worth it?
I haven't had the chance to try it yet.
logitech g25- up are the 911 of sim wheels, not a supercar it's just a super car. last forever (going 13 year with my G27 LOL GT5/6)
Bruh the t300 srry is a play station 💀💀💀
I think none of these make any sense. Csl dd with McLaren rim and csl pedals is only about 600€. And upgradable and expandable and better than any of the suggested products in any way.
For th very start get an old logitech momo for 10 bucks and see if simracing is something for you.
The netwon-metre is the SI unit of torque, not power.
