    Tek wrap 5d- hands down.
    Took my car to a local car show. Custom Porche Panamera owner stopped and said " I can tell that's real carbon fiber from a mile away"
    I didn't say it was a wrap. Went to look at his car- he had a 7k carbon hood... true carbon wing, interior- looked the same in the sun
    It's about the sheen. Tek 5d is gorgeous- don't stretch it much.
    There were a few tiny bot wraps- frankly it was obvious it was a wrap. Looks cheap in the sun-
    Thanks for this video!

      @@johnchang7537 tough one... They both look really good. I'd probably go with TekWrap, only because I have more experience with their vinyls. But in person for me, cosmetically they both look identical.

      @ColorChangeCustoms I got a few samples of some Nebula series colors, and their Vinyl seems really nice. I have some Metro on my Bpillars. I want to replace it, and after seeing your video, I'm sold on the Tek R, but I'm super curious about the Aura. I might have to order the 2" sample they offer 🤔.

    I am curious to know whether or not the Tinybot 6D Carbon Fiber had a clear protective cap on it. I had watched a CK Wraps video and the Tinybot 6D Carbon Fiber that he installed onto a hood had a clear protective cap on it. I just received a order from Tinybot, a 1ft x 5ft roll of the 6D Carbon Fiber and it does not have a clear protective cap on it and didn't know whether or not they sent the wrong stuff or if they changed things since CK Wraps video or possibly they don't put a clear protective cap on the smaller size rolls.

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms  Před rokem +1

      No, the roll I had, 1’ x 5’, didn’t have a plastic cap. I’m guessing they must not have the cap for smaller rolls.

    • @josephcruz7368
      @josephcruz7368 Před rokem +1

      They told me the reason they take it off is because the vinyl tunnels if the cap sheet are on anything 3ft and below.

    The 2 BIGGEST and most important difference between TEK R and the rest of the glossy carbon.....weather resistance and self healing froms scratches. Vvivid TEK R will not de-laminate. All the others WILL de-laminate when it rains, snows, or when there is high humidity. Vvivid Tek R also has self healing capabilities for hairline scratches/ swirls. If you use a heat gun, you can make scratches literally dissappear.

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I've got another video showing the non-existent water resistance of eBay vinyl (i.e. cheap vinyl) vs VVivid's. It was pretty eye opening to see how much water got in between the eBay vinyl's laminate and vinyl layer, whereas VVivid was totally unaffected. Also, heat on vinyl (gloss vinyl in particular) does activate the vinyl's "healing" effect which makes micro scratches disappear.

    • @Dirtywhtboy87930
      @Dirtywhtboy87930 Před 8 měsíci

      I vote for Vvivid Tek -R . The tiny bot vynl has wierd stuff happening to the reflections where a heat gun was used to help install the vynl, showes dark spot in shiny reflection. Saw a video on that one, plus delaminating extremely easy sux too. The Tec-R is a quality vynl and has self healing properties in higher temperatures… that’s a no-brainer for me.

      Between these three vinyls, I personally would go with Vvivid. That’s because I am familiar with that film the most, and in my opinion, it offers the best balance between looks, ease of install, and quality.

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms  Před rokem

      Oh man, that's a bummer. I haven't looked for that amount as I only needed a 1' x 5' sample roll. Generally speaking, the vinyl wrap industry has been hit pretty badly with the whole logistics/supply chain problem world wide. Even big name companies like 3M and Avery are having a hard time keeping up with demand. Hopefully availability gets better soon!

      @ColorChangeCustoms  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I don't disagree, as there's more to consider than just the cosmetics. The video was specifically a cosmetic comparison, but of these particular vinyls, I'd only install VVivid carbon fiber vinyl. But, to each there own I suppose.

      In my opinion, the TeckWrap 4D and Tinybot look the most realistic. Vvivid is right there, but purely in terms of realism, TeckWrap and Tinybot look slightly more realistic only because they are more black whereas Vvivid is grayish in color.

      I haven't had a chance to put Tek R right next to real carbon fiber, but compared to other carbon fiber vinyls, it is very grey in color. However, I might say it's not dull looking...when clean, Tek R is really glossy and almost looks wet.

      The only one that is fully water proof is VVivid. I am working on putting together a video showing a water test with Tinybot and TeckWrap (VVivid I already did--here's the video: czcams.com/video/HPjbIY4I340/video.html).
      I'm hoping to get the water test video comparing Tinybot and TeckWrap published soon, but the bottom line is both Tinybot and TeckWrap allowed water to get under the laminate.
