What are skin tags or acrochordons
Skin tags are known as acrochordons. They are small growths, or flaps of tissue, that stick out from the surface of the skin. They are usually the same color of your skin or slightly darker and usually small, anywhere from 1 to 2 cm. They typically remain pretty much small, ranging from 1 to 2 centimeters, but they can grow larger.
What causes skin tags and how do skin tags form
The first underlying cause could b being female. The Cleveland Clinic says skin tags occur more often in women than men, and they often appear at middle age and may be related to weight gain. Other causes can be aging in general, friction which we talked about, genetics, and interestingly certain endocrine and metabolic syndromes, and hormonal imbalances. Common ones are having diabetes and insulin resistance.
Are skin tags bad
Now although they are harmless and as harmless as they might be, skin tags can also be annoying and can snag on your clothing sometimes. Also you may want to remove them for cosmetics reasons too.
How to use apple cider vinegar for skin tags and for skin tag removal
So to start, use organic apple cider vinegar with the mother included, soak it in sterile cotton ball and secure it in place over the skin tag with a bandage for 20 minutes. Remove it and check for any irritation. If no irritation, then you'll want to do the 20-minute treatment during the day and then before bed and leave it on overnight.
How to use iodine for skin tags and for skin tag treatment
Especially povidone-iodine which you can pick up at your local pharmacy. For this treatment, soak a Q-tip in iodine and spread the liquid across the tag and Cover the area with a bandage until the iodine has dried. And you can repeat this treatment twice a day until the tag drops off. Now with iodine, it works by breaking down skin cells, so avoid it on the healthy surrounding skin. And To be safe, carefully apply coconut oil to a one-half inch area around the skin tag to create a barrier.
How to use garlic for skin tags and to improve skin tags
Even though this is the smelliest option on this list, it still is worth trying as garlic. That is because of the bioactive compound in garlic called allicin. This, sulphurous compound in garlic has been studied for their ability to inhibit cancerous cells and block tumour growth. Which is why it has been used anecdotally as a method to removing skin tags. So to make sure to do this correctly. Simply crush a large clove of garlic with a knife to release the potent oils and keep crushing until it forms a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the tag and secure it with a bandage over the skin tag and leave it on for about an hour. Next thing you wanna do after is: Wash it using mild soap and water.

I tried the apple cider vinegar for the skin tag that I had on the back of my head and it does work. After the 1st use, the tag got a little darker. By the 2nd day, it was black. By the 3rd day, it started shrinking. By the 4th day, it was getting hard. By the 5th day, it was harder. It did sting a little. The 6th & 7th day were the same as the 5th day. On the 8th day, most of the skin tag broke off. It should only be another day or 2 before it is all gone. This really saved me from a doctor's visit and fee. Thank you so much!

@@rabbiashah9068I used it twice a day. I took a piece of cotton and put the apple cider vinegar on it. I put ot on the affected area and put a bandage on it. I put it on in the mid-morning for 20 minutes and then at night. I slept with it on.

I found a way to remove the three different skin tags I had on my skin surface! First, I tried to figure out on my own without me having any medical training why these skin tags are appearing? Then, I realized it is more than likely something growing or starting at a lower or deeper layer of skin. In other words, it was not growing on the surface layer of skin.
Then I tried to figure out some way to get some type acidic liquid to penetrate the upper two layers of skin to reach the third or fourth layer skin to be able to dissolve and remove the entire skin tag.
And guess what over-the-counter medical aid does just that! How do you get rid of warts on your skin? You need a rather safe yet strong enough chemical to work its way below and into the lower skin levels.
Have you now figured out what I used and how well it worked at accomplishing just that?
It was so simple to figure out and solve! I used Compound W. Yep, that’s all I needed and it WORKED!
This is how I applied it and how well it worked:
After I woke up in the morning and was in the bathroom cleaning myself up and did not have my shirt on so it was easy to access the three different skin tags I had 1 foot below my left armpit, I applied a drop on top of the entire skin tag BUT NOT on the healthy skin area around the edge of the skin tag.
The first morning I applied it on top of the skin tags it did not hurt or sting because the Salicylic Acid that is in Compound W did not yet reach the lower skin levels that are more sensitive and where the roots of the skin tag are located which needs to be destroyed in order to remove it permanently.
And it is important to keep your shirt off to make sure that the drop of Compound W put on the wart does not get wiped off accidentally.
Then I did the same thing the next morning. And I did not yet feel any slight burning or slight stinging below the ward because the acid had not yet reached the lower and more sensitive skin level areas. And that is the area that the acid needs to reach in order to burn away the root system or beginning of the skin tag. Yes, it IS as simple as that!
Then I did it again on the third morning but this time I felt a sharp stinging sensation after I applied it which means the acid has now reached the lower and more sensitive skin areas. Perfect!
Then, just after applying it on the fourth morning, it burned and stung a lot! GOOD because that means the acid has finally reached the area of the roots or the beginning of the formation of the skin tag.
Then I did not apply it anymore after the fourth morning. Then within just a few days or maybe a week ALL THREE SKIN TAGS WERE GONE !
And, today while I’m typing this up after it has been two months since I did that, there are no signs of those tags being there. There is just plain healthy skin now!
And NO doctor is going to approve of you doing this because they are not supposed to let you come up with your own self-diagnostics ways of fixing skin problems. BUT I DID IT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS !
I google searched “how to remove skin tags and this is what appeared:
Your doctor can remove the skin tags by:
1. freezing them with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy)
2. cutting them off with surgical scissors or a scalpel (excision)
3. burning them with electrical energy (hyfrecation)
BUT I DON’T want to do it that way because it’s expensive and time-consuming and, quite frankly, I was able to figure out how to do it much simpler and on my own!

After successfully removing skin tags only to have them return, I've increased my iodine intake. I now take a 12.5 mg (milligram) supplement in addition to my multivitamin 150 mcg (microgram). No more skin tags.

My doctor diagnosed some growths on my face and neck as viral warts; we agreed that I could try using tea tree and manuka essential oils on it. Each day, I put three drops of each in my palm, stir them together, them apply them to my various bumps ... keeping the oil well away from my eyes cuz it stings! Not only have my warts disappeared, but so have all my skin tags.

Another method I’ve used is tying a heavy thread around the skin tag as close to the skin as you can get. Then pull the thread really tight. You feel a small pinch but then you don’t feel anything. Basically you cut off the blood supply to the tag. Eventually they turn black and just fall off. Tiny ones come off instantly, small ones fall off after about 3 days, and larger ones may take a week.

No it’s just a small bump which eventually disappears.
My wife has thick hair so I use that instead. The thread can come off easily in the shower but the hair seams to stay in place.

Acid salicylic aka aspirin. It's use for Korn remove as well. It's the best.
I just freeze them off. I tape off the area around the tag and use a wart freeze. The tag will dry up into a scab and fall off.
Home remedies gotta love them. No chemicals....sounds good to me. Going to try one. Manuka honey is great tasting also. Thank you for the tips!

When I had a skin tag on the back of my neck, I used a skin tag removal system that uses little silicone rubber bands and an applicator. You first clean the area with alcohol and apply the rubber band to the base of the skin tag. The skin tag will fall off from a few days to a week. I tried apple cider vinegar, and it didn't work.

@@tracydavies6066Genital warts are sexually transmitted & need a visit to the Dr. Warts on your outer butt cheeks arent sexually transmitted ( but are unusual) so you can use over the counter remedies or see a Dr to get it frozen off.

i got 1 couple years ago on my waist . woke up 1 morning scratching it in my sleep is how i found it. mustve grown overnight. i just ripped it off with fingers. i was diagnosed with diabetes month later. i stopped eating sugar and lost 30 lbs and was off insulin and meds in 4 months time. havent got anymore. i remember getting 1 in arm pit as a kid. after a few days i ripped that 1 off too and never came back. i ate lot of sugar crap as a kid so it was probably from sugar too.

I had a pretty big wart on my finger, I used potato peel, but it was a warted potato.
Used the peel, band aid it every day and that wart dried up and fell off in less than a week.

I had a skin tag under my lower lash line. I careful applied Frankincense oil with a swab every morning. The tag shrunk and totally disappeared within a month. I've used the same method on several other skins tags over the years with the same results.

Best way not to get them is to lower your A1C. I lowered mine from 5.7 (pre-diabetic) to 4.9 (normal) and haven’t had any in fifteen years. I used to get warts too, but no more. All those extra carbs in the blood feed your skin, so your skin gets creative by making tags and warts, and hyperpigmentation.

If you have lots of these, they're the least of your problems as they're a sign of something more seriously wrong inside, as he said, such as diabetes or insulin resistance. Fix those first while working to get rid of the skin tags, as the serious health issues are far more dangerous.

I had a wart on my hand and someone said to use garlic. Well I took a garlic supplement and it was gone in 2weeks. I will try this for my skin tags now.

Further to suggestions to the comments hereunder. Tying thread around the base will always work, but if the tag is in an awkward place that is difficult to tie thread to the very base , use an electricians "alligator" clip. This is about an inch long, made of stainless steel and is a small version of a clothes peg. Grip the tag at the base with the point of the clip, moisten the sides of the clip and loop the thread or floss over the clip. The loop will slide down the taper and securely tighten the thread with a treble knot, remove clip and cover with a bandage. Four days later..... all gone

I am stumped. Apply coconut oil to a one half inch area around the skin tag. Cover the area with a bandage until the iodine has dried. 1) bandaids won't stick to coconut oil 2) I have multiple tags that are located in an area where it would be impossible to bandage as the tape would be sticking to some and that won't work well in the long run. (3) Why couldn't I lay down and have my assistant apply the coconut oil and then the iodine. I could take a short nap while the iodine dries by air. I laugh when I think how many bandaids I will need!

I was thinking the same about using coconut oil (or any oil at all) because of that very reason. The bandaid won't stick.🤷🏼
Try the round band-aids. That way the oil is actually around the band-aid and the iodine is drying
I think you could apply the coconut oil directly to the bandaid in a round circle and make sure it is on the cotton part and not the sticky part. Then apply the iodine or whatever you are using to the skin tag and carefully apply the bandaid making sure the skin tag is right in the middle. I'm going to try that.
NO!. Do not use any oil!
Using oil is dumb! Everyone is right that a bandaid will not stick where there is oil!
Here is the solution to this problem; Use wax! Not candle wax. Use the kind made for "waxing method for unwanted hair removal", like what you would use to shape/sculpt eyebrows. This wax dries to a hard shell when it cools, will protect your skin from the iodine, and a bandaid or duck tape will stick to it!
Use a q-tip to create a small wax circle around the skin tag and you're good to go!
I use a product called "Zip". I hope this helps.
