I’ll never see a football game as epic as this one. Absolutely mad.
Its a legit movie plot
It’s one of those historic games that you remember exactly where you were and who you were with. I will never forget this game. Words can’t describe it.
This game I remember specifically wanting to go to sleep on because I had to wake up early. But I didn’t, because I missed a bad ass come back from a previous game (I can’t remember which) prior to this, So I stayed up and was in awe at the end to think that I nearly went to sleep instead of finish.
@@inthemaking9714 That’s great you stayed up. I made that mistake in ‘92. Bills VS Oilers. I turned off the TV at halftime, only to find out the next day the Oilers lost 🤦♂️ That was another epic comeback, but to do it in the SB is what makes the Pats comeback so legendary!!!!
idk bud we may see a ridiculous shootout tomorrow between Brady and Mahomes. I can damn near guarantee records will be broken.
When Julian told Brady for your mom bro its like Bradys eyes went super psycho laser focus
Right!! It was darker, super laser focus 🧘♂️

@@nickdesjardins5987 I agree, I grew up watching Brady. I live 45min from the Stadium. So many great games I’ve seen him play. He’s the UNDISPUTED GOAT! Same here. I had to let me selfishness take a backseat for Brady.
Honestly guys i always believed he'd be great as a Patriots fan and seeing him win made me so happy
But to see him in that whole other aspect I couldn't predict it
Three thanks to Vinatieri, Seahawks not running the ball, Falcons doing as Falcons do, Rams playing the worst SB ever, and a fan-less season.
msolec2000 so you’re saying he’s just lucky, maybe he raises the level of those around him. Once or twice is luck, what you’re saying is willfully ignorant. He had every record imaginable in regular season and especially post season. More super bowls than any Franchise and a covid season hurt him more than anyone. No preseason or ota and time to get to know the new system and players, look at the patriots now and the bucs, it’s clearly him unless your like rob parker. That man has ruined his sportscasting career and become and absolute joke, max kellerman swallowed his pride and admitted he was wrong on the cliff. Like what do you need to see lol, he was also in the mvp discussion for the regular season at 43 and he won League mvp at the age of 40..
The look on Devin McCourty's face after the coin toss in OT said it all. That man knew the game was over.
He looked high af
He said later he went to the sidelines and got comfortable because he knew the game was over. Or was that the AFC championship a few years later? Anyway yeah. Lol.

If it makes you feel better I think about the 07 Super Bowl loss all the time, still stings
Hey dude, relax..we hear you. Big Pat's fan here. Mad respect for the Falcons. It was a straight up coaching error. When Ryan hit that fantastic pass to Jones with an all star catch going out of bounds late, to put you in FG range. That should have been it. Possess the ball, 3 one yard runs, run time off and boot it for 3...would have sealed it. Even a miss would have worn down the clock. It was your coaching not respecting the game.
@@jamesemerson1342
He knows that. That's why it hurts him so much. They dropped that win willingly.

Crazy to think Tom and Jules still win one more after this epic game.
I'm a Pats fan, had to fly out to Atlanta for meetings the day after this game. I have never seen such crushed souls before
But tbh, leading up to this game Falcons fans never truly believed they would win this one just based on the excitement of the fans in various venues around town. Sure, we were all happy to be there but not sure if we could beat the Pats. So this was was not as bad as the rest of the football world wants to make it for Atlanta. Two years later, Atlanta hosted the SB and we were elated the Saints got robbed by the Rams. A Saints appearance in the SB in Atlanta WOULD have been soul-crushing.
@@fredball4894 not as bad as the rest of the football world wants to make it! That's completely ridiculous. Atlanta were favourites so I'm pretty sure plenty of fans thought they could win prior to kickoff. But to then lead 28-3 and lose in the greatest choke in history, um yea it was as bad as it could ever possibly get.
There is no way to downplay that result one little bit.
I got to go to Boston the week after LVII wearing my Eagles champs gear. They didn't know how to deal with me.
It was soul crushing to come so close.. but tbh we never truly believed we could beat the Patriots. The vibe in sports radio and TV that week was still full of excitement at beating the Packers but only hopeful to win the SB. "Is this our year?" was the question everyone was asking. Vegas had the Pats by six at kick off and nobody I knew in Atlanta saw us winning outright. Even die hard fans took the points.
4:37 - I love that quick clip of Gronk there on sideline. He's there for his team, he's not sitting around feeling sorry for himself because he's not in the game, and best of all, when Brady decides to run the ball himself, he looks genuinely concerned for his friend out there because he's knows the moment Brady decided to run it himself, the QB protections are now gone, and he's fair game to get creamed out there!! When Brady makes the first down and slides before getting killed by the opposing team, Gronk also looks relieved AND stoked that Brady got it done safely....
As great as Gronk was, he was often injured for the post season, he took a beating during the year. I wish the Patriots had saved him during the regular season. He also missed the Philly super bowl that they lost, and wasn't in great condition for the Rams superbowl.
That Super Bowl was the first football game I’d ever watched in my life. Being an Atlanta native I was hyped. Needless to say I made a vow that I would never be an Atlanta Falcons fan after that day.

Was more the atlanta offense collapsing. Coming into the game everyone expected the pats to put up points against a bad atlanta D. Hell they had already done more than expected with the pick 6. But atlanta's offense did nothing in tbe last 20 minutes and turned it over. And when they got in field goal range they strangely decided to throw and take themselves out of it when that would have sealed the game. Not to mention that getting off the field so quick really tires out an already suspect D which takes away the pass rush making it easy for brady
@@JohnGoetzGaming Kinda and not really. Atlanta's defense was young and super fast. That gave them an edge vs skilled positions. But Brady and his experience put them over the top. It was still a tall task for an offense that didn't have a number 1 or 2 WR.

Pats defensive coach pooped his pants in the Superbowl the following year.
That was more on the lack of personal, they lost Sheard, McClellin, long and Logan Ryan to free agency and lost Ninkovich to retirement, there front 7 was decimated already by the start of the next season and then Hightower got hurt in I believe the first game and missed the rest of the season

After rewatching this, i always had goosebumps on that catch particularly when it's slowmo'ed. Goodness gracious 😬
So many things had to go right for this comeback to happen. And every single thing went right. Amazing game. Amazing story.
I still get chills when I watch it. This is the best Super Bowl ever played in super bowl history.
Is it just me or does Edelman look like Dustin from Stranger things
Love to see this every once in a while....👍👍👍
Greatest Superbowl ever. My 1.5 year old was exhausted by half time so I put her to bed and went to sleep myself assuming that the game was done. When my wife came to bed she told me that the Patriots had won and I was dumfounded. Luckily I had set the DVR (along with a 2 hour buffer) so I got up at 3 a.m. and watched the whole game before going to work.
