Can't believe he had to retire. One of the least likely to become something big, yet he overcame the small school situation and become a legend. I'm sure the Patriots will miss him.
The beating his body took over the years has surely taken its toll. I'd be surprised, really, if he wanted to carry on, and I suspect he really could no longer afford his kamikaze style of play. He's at the age where that's just an express lane to the IR list. (The spirit is willing, but the joints are weak.)
He was also the last option in a lot of play calls. Probability of him catching the ball was pretty high but even higher was the probability of him getting hit hard the secpnd after he caught it. I saw a lot of plays were he was basically sacrifice to move the chains but that is the name of the game or for now because it is becoming two hand touch little by little.
Broncos: “We lost a 24 lead to the patriots.”

Falcons: "We gave up 31 unanswered points."

@@ex3638 When has Brady cheated? The only one involving him was deflategate. The NFL lost it's court case due to lack of evidence. It's been proven that Exponent (company Wells hired to do the investigation) used faulty math. Everything fit under the ideal gas law. It was also reported Brady had destroyed his phone every 8-10 after getting a new one. He gave Goodell all the text and emails he requested.

Brady and Edelman seem like they the have a special connection. Whenever Brady needs yards he looks for Edelman and he always catches it. He is a magnificence clutch player.

Every critic was downplaying the Patriots when Welker and Moss left and their top receivers were Edelman and Amendola...Yet, the later won two Super Bowls and the prior won zero.
Take away Brady and you won't see the Pats in the Super Bowl for a LONG time.
You have to compare to the competition also. Sports cannot be evaluated through science since you can't control the variables. You'd need a time machine and if one ever shows up it will be used on things more important than football.

In my opinion he has a strong case, he made 2 VERY crucial plays that decided 2 Super Bowl victories 1 of them being the greatest comeback EVER. And like everyone has already said, when the money was on the line and when all the chips were in the center of the table there was no one more dependable and clutch than Julian Edelman. I don’t care what the stat Nazis say. This man is a hall of famer.

Just the fact that Edelman was drafted as a rookie quarterback and became one of the best receivers the New England patriots have had, baffles me.
Probably already commented a thousand times, but brilliant job inserting the Welker dropped pass in the Giants SB game at 15:48, followed by Julian's clutch Incredelman catch in the Falcons SB. Like the kids' song, "One of these things is not like the other.."
