For me, and I'm Raiders fan, Brady-Gronkowski is the most lethal connection I've seen. I watch football since 1978. With Montana-Rice it was pure speed, and finesse. With some QB and a bif back out of the backfield (ex: Bradshaw-Harris, Pastorini-Campbell) it was power. With Brady-Gronkowski it's all that in one. Can catch a 2-yard pass into trafic, and catch a 50 yard laser from Brady. Can create seperation, can out run LB, can out muscle CB, SS, FS. And can drag 2-3 players at the same time. CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING HEALTHY FROM DAY ONE OF HIS CAREER?! He doesn't received enough credit in those top-10 best players ever. I hope he comes back next year. And once again, I'm a Raider fan. But I can appreciate greatness whith Gronk. The man is unbelievable.

What amazes me is if you said i'm going to cut a guys legs or go for a Helmet to Helmet, on say Odel or AB to a reporter, the league would kick you out of the game, but on Gronk its just accepted, if they actually officiated things fairly for him he would have destroyed the record books.

Dude could block interior lineman just as well as he can catch passes like a WR. Name another player who even came close to doing that... Not sure if hes the greatest TE of all time, but he was without a doubt the most dominant when healthy.
Also can't deny how pretty those passes he was catching were. Playing with the goat certainly didn't hurt his career

I remember when Gronkowski and Hernandez came in together. All of my friends were so excited over Hernandez because of his size and hands, and they looked at Gronk as a cement head who would only block. When I saw how good Gronk's hands were in pre-season the few times that they went to him I knew that he was going to be great. He caught every pass that was thrown to him. I tried to tell them that, but they didn't buy it. I was right. 15:08 look at the guy with the Steelers 99 jersey on in the stands. Hilarious.

Gronk was one of a kind. The once in a lifetime athlete. Defined his position for ALL TIME. No one else is even close. Second place is a very very distant second place. And, he is so very likable a person. Even Pats haters didn't hate The Gronk. You'd have to be one very disturbed individual to hate a guy like Gronk. Godspeed dude in whatever you choose to do with the rest of your life. But, never forget the young kids you worked with and inspired. Working with the young kids is the best thing a guy like you can ever do. It is with the kids we make a lasting difference.

Gronks blocking is what helps the team in ways that don't get on the score sheet. He's got skills but also his desire to win the 50/50 balls, those are the greatest athletes, the persistence to get the ball no matter what.

What these highlights don't show is how Gronk was a great special teams player cause he was the best blocking TE in the league, which is what truly separates him.. His ability to block on the edge, top DEs, was invaluable when it came to protecting Brady, helping establish the run, creating offensive mismatches, & scheming defenses. The last point proving why Gronk is greatest ever, in most of the highlights, he actually looks covered & is never wide open or not with a defensive player in decent coverage.. Yet, he still made catch after catch, being well covered, and he broke way more tackles than excepted being such a large target..He's definitely the best te ever, and would possibly still be playing if he didn't play so many special teams snaps.. two of his major injuries accured on special teams plays, I believe both on extra point attempts, which I never understood why he was in on those plays..It's one of the few coaching decision or errors Belichick made, that I couldn't understand...I know he set the edge on those plays, blocking the gunners trying to fly in & block kick, which is very valuable, but it rarely happened & even if it did, would've had little to no impact, Especially compared to having Gronk available..It possibly cost the Pats a SB..
im still amazed how this man dragged two grown man for a decent amount of yards and ran another like 10
