Some singers fail sometimes. But it's important that we don't let their vocal mistakes define who they are as a singer and performer. Lots of people do that. So please in these comments don't attack other singers.

About alicia, she really had vocal damage, unfortunately, because her voice is beautiful, it is remarkable that she really suffered damage mainly between 2008,2009
She was also not very good in her recent NYE Special performance that she recorded (was on the BBC). Kept dodging high notes and the high notes she did try sounded very flat and forced and throaty.
I like her music, but ended up changing the channel, because it was not enjoyable to listen to so many flat notes. Such a shame. She used to be so good.
Of course I believe Alicia has vocal damage, but in the case of that performance, it’s just part of the song lol. It’s very intentional and purposeful. The song “Illusion of Bliss” is incredibly emotional and beautiful ❤️

The vocal shown here of Alicia Keys ‘Illusion of Bliss’ is completely intentional. It’s like that in every performance of the song and even on the album recording. It’s part of the emotional climax of the song! Sometimes we have to know the context.
I need to agree with you however she's overpushing in other songs. I wonder why she never changed her technique
Y’all need to stop lying because she does not sounds that bad on the record as she does here. I hear it and there’s a difference between vocal breaks done like Sia and vocal cracks like this. No hate to Alicia though. Love her

@@benjaminbrown682 what?? Where’s the lie??? It sounds more raw in the live but I mean.. that’s to expected of a live performance. Whether you like the sound or not is another thing. Personally, I think she sounds fine. I know that’s the sound she was going for. And obviously a sound like that isn’t going to be very controlled anyways. I wouldn’t expect her to be able to reproduce it the exact way she did it for the studio version.

Celine’s clip was bad because that performance was right after her husband died. And when she sang All By Myself, she got very emotional. That’s why her clip wasn’t very good.
Actually that clip was 2015. She lost her husband in 2016.

I'm amazed you haven't covered some of Tina's Turner's live performances as she has a very unique voice.
Demi's first clip : She was unhealthy the entire half of the year(2014). She dodged this A5 intended note most of the days but this particular day she thought she could do it but miserably couldn't. People thought she permanently lost her voice. (Nevertheless hatsoff she never chose to lipsync)
Demi's second clip: She was nervous the entire time. She wasn't singing the entire song properly. And yeah, she can't do that note live even on a good day. No idea about 2021 Demi

Jessica Simpson may have "pulled it off" in the sense that she successfully landed the notes in terms of hitting and sustaining the right pitch, but her placement was absolutely appalling and damaging. That wasn't intentional distortion, that was just strain from really really poor laryngeal placement.

Yeah and I think that's why she didn't use that part of her voice in the music she put out with the book last year, studio was never a problem but live I feel she's always been able to pull it off because of her pitch and sustainment. I couldn't articulate it myself but I so agree

In the clip with Demi and Christina doing Fall in Line. Apparently, I read and heard that Demi was touring at the same time as well being unwell also. She was really tired and exhausted by that performance and that's why her high note was really poorly sung.
The song itself is very difficult as well. She has to belt the whole chorus tbh.

Possible suggestion is tell who the artist is prior to each clip. I know it's obvious to most but it took me a few seconds to determine who it actually is. Love these types of reaction videos keep them coming. Also, I honestly didn't even hear where Celine Dion messed up in her clip. I'll leave it to the professionals :)
Probably, that All By Myself live was in 2016, after her husband passed away, she wasn't good mentally and it affected her voice, but she held on to do her best

Not being mean to Demi in any way, but why have a big belt/note in the song when can’t sing it live. I know adrenaline or sick but it’s sometimes frustrating when you watch a live performance and a singer keeps dodging high notes because they don’t want to sing it. I understand if they are unwell or they have sang the song for years but then don’t sing it live.
Demi has very little artistic personality and think way too much of her abilities. It"s time to stop playing the Aguilera understudy and start working with what you've got.
I would never do something in the studio I couldn't replicate live. I am not sure why she chose to that x
@@HonestVocalCoach in the studio you can do so many takes off one note but not live. I really like Demi but she sometimes over pushes if she’s singing with another singer like Christina trying to maybe out do each other or be better.

I guess some singers dont think too much about singing live. They probably want to create a masterpiece in the studio despite knowing that it won’t be sung again.
Whether Alicia’s was intentional or not it sounded like she was falling off a building.

Tongue root tension is at the root of almost all of my vocal fails. I have awful anxiety and I can't work out how to fix it 😩 starting out as a live vocalist and the nerves are not being kind to me.

Singers are human beings too. Their voices can fail at inopportune moments. I've done what Rihanna did during a live theater performance once and I REALLY paid attention to NEVER do it again. And to ALWAYS have lozenges, water, tea with honey & lemon close by. And NEVER push when it's not right. 😏

Mishaps for singers that sing live are gonna happen. Kelly Clarkson is amazing. I’m not a big Grande fan but she can sing. If they’re having a dry day or allergies kick in, shit’s gonna happen. Nobody is perfect 100% of the time, but if they’ve proven themselves as singers, they get a pass. Or, if they have other skills, like singer/songwriters or if they’re stellar on an instrument, they get a pass. But if you don’t sing live because you can’t, someone else writes your music and you don’t play an instrument live… then I judge very critically.

Lauren Daigle. If you are unfamiliar with this artist she has a song that is a masterpiece called "You Say". Though there are two covers that I like better by groups I'm sure you've never heard of, BYU Noteworthy (an all female college A Capella group) and Gentri. You said it perfect. No one can sing every song perfect every time, it's what you do when you make a mistake that matters.

I've always felt that Leona Lewis requires a lot of vocal coaching to be able to overcome her vocal weaknesses and to become a truly GREAT singer. The potential is definitely there, but I find her overall technique to be poor. She often switches between chest voice and head voice too often and rather awkwardly. She could be up there with Mariah if she worked on her voice enough.
