Sia and her technique and her tone and her passion while performing live is something that moves everyone and is so astonishing ! With every performance of hers you get to learn something. I learnt to easily sing the higher notes by observing her performances 😊

Agreed. Also, I think it's weird that with some artists they chose 2 different versions of the same song, and with some artists different songs but that's probably just me
With Selena she had much more power on her lower register (and belts but that's cause she was shouting). Her voice deepened so it makes sense

There's an old performance (Old, should probably put alot of air quotes around that adjective) where she sung it in the David Letterman Show. The one she reacted to (D.C Washington, Verizon Center for her Nostalgic For The Present Tour) and that older performance are top-tier. You should check it out and while you're at it listen to a live performance of Lentil or I'm In Here.

I just love how knowledgeable you are and how well you explain. I used to think I was smart cause I knew what vibrato was. There's so much more to learn. I'm far from a professional musician, but I am a professional music fan and I love to better understand what is behind the sounds or techniques.

Is it really a bad thing to modify vowels to help belt? I know it's Georgina pet hate, but if it helps the note to broaden the vowel, is it really the worst thing to do??
I mean, the best vocalists in the world tend to use vowel modification in order to reach higher belts so I don't see the problem with it? I believe classically trained coaches and contemporary vocal coaches will disagree on this. If anyone has more knowledge/experience, please correct me.
No. To protect the voice, belt healthy. If you can’t belt with a closed vowel don’t do it. It probably will sound wonky but it’s not a horrible thing to do

I had trouble hearing a lot of the live performances. Well, I had trouble hearing the singers in a lot of the live performances. I submit a couple of requests but opted for videos were the sound was clearer rather than being able to actually see the performances since I thought the audio was more important. Perhaps I'd better go back and submit the requests again with the people in the videos even if the audio quality is less than stellar?
