Masamune Kadoya just might be Beyblades greatest fraud. Although he’s easily in my top 3 characters in the series, it is pretty hard being a confident Masamune fan. Let's analyze where the downward spiral started and how Masamune never recovered after being put on Fraud Watch. Now off of his introduction you would think he’s honestly kinda him, bro intercepts Yu and Tsubasa fight then proceeds to make You struggle pretty badly, with him even managing to win against him when deciding Japan's representatives. Yu being someone who gave Gingka and Tsubasa a pretty good fight, showing that Masamune should definitely be forced to be revoked with. But we know that he’s out of his league especially trying to challenge Gingka with Galaxy Pegasus, where he’d proceed to lose so many times that he’d get a one cheap W off of Gingka before saying that he’s number one and Gingka can’t challenge him anymore. We do see through these two sparring and portraying some kinda relativity? Gingka is pretty much ahead of Masamune throughout the whole competition as he usually fights the strongest on the team while Masamune deals with the second or even 3rd fiddle. Which seems really lame especially given the amount of times bro swears he’s number one and is mainly the number one guy in losing. Let’s actually break down the win to loss ratio for Masamune in masters and let me explain why bro kinda sucks. Even after the constant talk about being the one to lead the group into the tournament, he ended up becoming the advanced guard after taking a serious L to Jao Shins Virgo, which he almost did win but in the end he was just using his power too recklessly. This leads into bro going through a training arc after finding a hungry old man who’d basically teach Masamune that one thing Zoro learned as a kid, and how he can pretty much use the same power to destroy a boulder against a leaf and it wouldn’t do a thing. Masamune lacked any real precision in his attacks, and with a much more focused and sharper mind, he’d actually defeat a stronger Jao Shin. This is a super big W as not only is this the first real lesson Masamune learns , but he scores team gang gang galaxy their first W of the world tournament. Even after this and despite not fighting at all, he’d help expose team Russia for what they really are and in some way did contribute to the overall W. Note that this video is analyzing all of Metal Fusion Metal Masters and Metal Fury along with incorporating the Beyblade Metal Fight Manga. Beyblade is a series that has spin offs as well like Beyblade Burst. The Beyblade Metal Series was my go to cartoon back in the day. I still remember seeing Ryuga's death right before going into school and I was DEVASTATED. After not only recently rewatching the series and seeing the traction it's getting about how a series with spinning tops became pretty much your average battle shonen with these guys having their beys traveling through the galaxies, stealing souls, and having world ending power. So today we are going to be looking at the overall Hierarchy of the metal series, go over the crazy feats and hax displayed in the verse along with showcasing the ridiculous power creep within the series because it's probably up there with Dragon Ball with its power creep. So with that said, let's talk about just how strong and ridiculous Beyblade actually was. Starting off we do see the series initially showing off some low tier feats like busting through walls and generating real tornadoes such as Rock Leone who by this point is still far weaker than Doji and the majority of the cast who press stronger versions of him. Tornadoes usually can generate from 2 to 20 tons of tnt, which is enough energy to level buildings and city blocks. But this is pretty standard stuff for the verse as we even see as early as Episode 14, where Pegasus is revealed to not only emit starry skies but draw power from it. Emitting multiple stars to form a constellation at WORST is star level but calculations actually have this feat usually ranging to even Multi Solar System. Which makes sense as Pegasus and L Drago at their full strength are just above everyone and Gingka mainly likes to battle for fun and the thrill of it. Now I do think Pegasus is obviously weaker initially and needed an amp to contend with dark Ryuga , but we do see in the end Gingka creating a new special move that might have created a galaxy. So everyone likes Gingka Ryuga Kyoya Tsubasa Yu Masamune.

Masamune was the guy who thought he was the MC, only to be constantly reminded he was not HIM. I can only imagine what Ryuga would have done to him if he tried to fight him while declaring he was «Nr. 1». It would have been one of the most savage beatdowns in the series for sure!

Masamune was cucked by the writers and the best two of out three format. Gingka always had to be one of the two wins cause main character. So then the other win and screentime had to be distributed between Masamune, Yu, and Tsubasa and he got the short end of the stick. Tsubasa got the good end by actually having a character arc throughout the season.

To an extent, I think Masamune got done dirty by the plot. Between Ginga, being the main character, and Tsubasa, going through his dark power storyline, I think Masamune got pushed aside due to those plot points. If not, for the dark power, I think we would’ve seen a pretty even win-loss ratio for Masamune and Tsubasa. Then there’s metal fury when he was pretty much used to scale to the legendary bladers, and was a red herring for the winter constellation.
Ngl he definitely has the greatest mindset in the show when it comes to grinding but yeah unfortunately he got ROBBED in fury

Masamune quite literally has the best feat out of everyone except rago and gingka. He broke the force field that was keeping Kenta separated from everyone by himself and when 5 legendary bladers together all tried to do so their beys got broken. Masamune is HIM. No star fragment needed.

It took all of his energy and it only made a small hole but he did pierce through it by himself. tsubasa and yu had to widen it with their special moves but that’s no where near as impressive as piercing through it by himself. The only people who are implied to be able to do it too were kyoya and kenta but they needed to preserve energy.

I was fine with how Masamune was treated because I never saw him as anything special. A hotheaded attack type who powers through and doesn't know much, he was always just an irritating lite version of Gingka.
Tsubasa and especially Yu were much more interesting, the way Yu was robbed of relevancy after being introduced as a menace in S1 caught my eye much more than Masamune's string of L's. I mean hell, Yu was even called a genius when introduced and made light work of Kyoya's special move, Masamune always just looked like empty calories character to me, nothing special/interesting about him.

Gotta give Masumune the benefit of the doubt he is definitely stronger than Yu, and no 1 gives him credit for beating Gingka and just saying gingka didn't have control of Pegasus but what about all the times gingka won b4 hand wouldn't be fair to discredit Masumune on that one. Every other loss was some bullshit aside from his loss to Nile he kinda deserved to lose that one Masumune came in too cocky and overconfident. But every other loss was some bullshit to cater to Tsubasas' story with the dark power, and gingka, who is the main character he should have won against klaus. He was dumbed down, so much against his battle with Selen, when realistically he can beat 3/4 of the Garcias. No problem. The only one who would give him trouble is Argo. He lost to Zeo because he was told if he won, Toby would die, causing him to hesitate. I also wanna add that he can definitely beat the entire Russian team and 3/4 members of the Chinese team, with Deshuan being to only one who could give him a good run for his money. And giving everything he went through in metal masters with him pretty much being the main character, it was so disrespectful that he did not become a legendary blader especially since he eas hyped up and build up to be the winter legendary blader. Instead, the writers decided to throw in this nobody bland character chris, who nobody cares about, just further putting disrespect on Masumunes character like who the f*** is Chris? Gingka Kyoya Ryuga and Masumune would have made more sense, but nah, they decided to throw Chris in that lineup.
Amazing video! Ive always felt that masamune was wasted potential and was robbed of potentials win. I get his lose against Zeo, however him losing to Klaus(even though it was implied he was stronger) and that trick by Selene was just stupid. I dont mind Chris getting the star fragment, however they still could have shown him with at least one win against someone strong(I personally think he could stomp Yuki).
I love Masamune too but damn, I never realized that he lost so much, I fully believed he should've beat Tobey, but then again if he did we probably wouldn't have gotten the infinitely cooler fights of Ryuga vs Jack or Gingka vs Damien so I understand why he lost, it was also wild for him to lose to the weakest member of team America then talk about how he's going back out to fight another member of team America, someone who could no diff the very same Tobey he just lost to. I did not remember that he lost every single one of his battles in Metal Fury but it makes sense why, not a single non legendary blader was able to beat a legendary blader, so since Masamune wasn't a legendary, though I definitely agree he should've been one, and that he only battles legendary bladers in Metal Fury, it makes sense for him to lose to all of them, but hey he deserves the credit for putting up a decent fight against the GOAT King.

I don't give him credit for that win off Yu. That season Yu's special move got nerfed and an excuse was made for literally everyone to beat him. Masamune is just another character on that list.

Masamune's biggest L gotta be him not becoming a Legendary Blader. He went on for 2 straight mini arcs (Destroyer Dome/Beyster Island) on how he was one just to lose both times to the actual Legendary Bladers.
I think this vid just highlights how much Gingka had to Clutch up during this tournament.. bro took them to the final while masamune hadn't won a match since the A block (props to Tsubasa and yuu for locking in)

I was NEVER a fan of Masamune fan it was his attitude that ticked me off he just came off as a jerk which gave me a bad opinion of him. His battles in the world championships also didn't help at all. His arrogance in believing he would become a Legendary Blader which I felt he didn't even deserve. The America Arc is the only moment where I actually started liking him. Him wanting to face Kyoya simply to show off and prove he is number one further made me dislike him cause Kyoya wouldn't even acknowledge him at all and probably humiliate him.

It’s true throughout the entire series, Kyoya never mentions Masumunes name, not even once. Same With even Yuki and Kenta he did not mention their names once because he probably found them irritating

A bit late to say this but I think its also fair to say that...Zeo kind of had a point when he said Masamune abandoned them, the others act like him keeping Toby and Zeo is mind was something but as Zeo mentions he didn't leave any contact at all. Like its one thing he left to train so he could become stronger to help with the team dungeon team and Zeo was kind of unstable because of the arrangement but he had the right to be mad at him, its more on the speculating side but had he sent letters or kept in touch throughthe phone I feel like Zeo would have been a lot calmer and Toby would break out the Faust thing a lot quicker.

They really set Masamune to be like "Good Guy Ryuga" with that entrance of just bodying two elite ass bladers in the middle of a tournament and just been cooking his shit ever since then 😂 still my favorite character, but damn bro, I really forgot he was getting jobbed worse than Vegeta.

Masamune was one of my favorite characters, but it became so difficult to root for him. And I would it was due to writers doing dirty, like they did to Yu. His character arc was good in my opinion to the moment they faced The Wild Fang. The lost in the first match Chao Xin was acceptable: he simply lost his footing when he had the upper hand, and even Da Xiang said the match could've easily gone either way. +It was a nice set up for Masamunes comeback in the real fight. Even Nile was ok, cause that was a great lesson for Masamune about not getting ahead of himself.
But the fact that they kept writing more and more losses just to set up more starring moments Tsubasa and Gingka just hurts so much XD Masamune can't defeat their substitute member, but out of nowhere Tsubasa somehow manages to send BOTH Cetus beys flying? I think they should've made both of their matches a draw: Tsubasa still gets to shine, the final match is just as meaningful, and no one's character is butchered.
The loss with Zeo was also ok to see. Masamune's final attack just lost it's edge, when he heard his friend was possibly close to dying. So it was clear he could've won, but the reason he got distracted was legit. Unlike with Selen, where they once again dumbed him down dramatically just so they could write dramatic moments for both Tsubasa and Gingka. I get Gingka is the main character, but why would Tsubasa need 3 great victories (Wales/Sophie, Argo and Jack) to prove his power when they didn't bother to give Masamune even one after the first few episodes?

Very well put. Dude pretended to be such a big shot, got his pants blown away every single time. Especially against Nile when he got deported back to wherever he came from. Let his team down time and time and time again. And then to lose to Zeo lmao. But at the same time, I think it was brilliant from the writers tbh, when they introduce new characters in new seasons this way, it usually means the new charcters are gonna be OP and will be one of the key players. I think Masamune's role was to make others look better, when he fails, Ginka and Tsubasa and Ryuga had to do the job and it made them look that much better.
Masamune is my favorite character in all of Beyblade because I genuinely think he is the most well written and interesting character due to his series spanning character arc and journey, but Masamune's fans don't exist because of his 1v1 wins for sure. So much of his character is about him losing and accepting those losses while continuing forward. I mean his literal proper introduction episode is about him losing to Gingka 6 separate times before winning in the end lol. There is a method to the madness though. Metal Masters was specifically written in a way where Masamune would pick up most of his wins in the first half of the story and Tsubasa would pick up his wins in the second half. On paper they both participate and win a similar amount of battles with each other. However, the problem is that it's a tournament. The further into the tournament the character's went the stronger the opponents, and because Gingka would never lose and Tsubasa picked up most of his wins here, Masamune was constantly shafted for no reason. He really is the potential man of beyblade because he's proven that he isn't weak. It's just the writers never rewarding him for some reason. I don't even think he has a poorly written loss (except for Selen, but that entire round was awfully written and contrived anyways) it's just the writers never decided to give him a proper win in a 1v1 match the further the series played out. lol

Ngl tho but he did kinda deserves the winter star fragment tho, like bruh, Imagine the 4 seasonal bladers being Gingka, Ryuga/Kenta, Kyoya, and some dude named Chris like bruh, and he was on par with King, like give this man his fragment, like I’ll admit, Chris really showed that winning is basically his job and that he had to deal with the pain of not being able to feel getting dubs but he was introduced so late into the series like bruh, my 2nd option for the star fragment would be Benkei tho

The worst thing about Metal Masters is that they made a new character in Masamune lose so many battles in order for an older character in Tsubasa to go through a completely unnecessary character arc. Making Masamune lose to Klaus was one of the worst written things in MM.

Masamune is my favorite blader in the show but looking back I hated the 2/3 rules in the tournament because the way it was set up he had to be the fall guy. Yu and Tsubasa were the weak links to team Japan because they spent half the tournament injured or MIA and to build drama they always had to tease the idea that gingka may have to battle twice. He got straight up robbed vs Zeo because they just had to get Ryuga vs Jack and they weren’t gonna have Ryuga lose or Gingka lose so by default he became the fall guy. And then the final season I’ll say it, I did not give a crap about any of the new characters, they were mostly one note and annoying, Masamune should’ve been a legendary blader but honestly I kinda like that he didn’t because he comes off as the rock lee of the cast, he didn’t have some special power up but he kept up with everyone else through hard work alone and it says alot if a non legendary blader can keep pace with legendary bladers through just hard work alone
