That stuck truck is an example of the all too common idea.... "I got four wheel drive. I can go anywhere!" All it does is get the fool stuck further in the boonies.

No heroics, no drama. Just 2 guys doing a recovery very professionally in some of the most beautiful scenery this side of a travel channel! Well done on everything from camera work to the loading!
I drove that road in 97 in my dad's S-10. I was sweating bullets that we didn't break down. Interesting to see Christmas wrapping paper inside that driveshaft 😆😁 "Make like a taco and split"
We vacationed in Moab in 2020. Every day on our way back to BnB we passed Rory's shop and and glanced at Trail Mater each time. I regret not being familiar with this channel then. Stopping by and meeting Rory would have been the highlight of that trip.
Rory you make that drive around the truck look like a leisurely drive in an urban park... well at least that thin wall drive line didn't rust... and yup can hear the 'creek' of the front end when it was on its own steam... Great recovery... Thanks for sharing
This is the first time I’ve seen a drive shaft like that. I had no idea they make them like this now. Very venerable off road. Nice field work. Electrical & Duct tape are must have off road items. Some great scenery.
Quite the head shaker, (not easy to comprehend), how theses newer vehicles can do anything other than *maybe* street operation. Thanks for another show of what you discover in your call outs.
I have a mostly stock Ram 3500 4x4 and have looked at driving some of these trails. Seems like a Level 3 trail is about as extreme as one would want to do with a pickup (Lockhart = level 5). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I think that’s like a 70 thousand dollar pickup truck that somebody was hammering on out there. But in a way , I’m glad to see trucks get used. Anyway ,..... the Mater Ain’t nothin BUT THE TRUTH !!!
"Driveline: Made like a taco and split. Alright, I got nothing." Lol. It's 'Made like a banana and split.' That made me laugh. You won't understand the big smile on my face when I see your video pop up on a crappy morning, where everything else is going sideways. But that's okay 😀
Thin aluminum tubing with a cardboard reinforcing liner - sounds like a workable driveline configuration to me! That rock sure put a crimp in the driveline. I'm surprised Chevy didn't have their PR people out there doing a photo shoot of their product in such beautiful, rugged surroundings. The caption could have been, "Rugged Chevrolets will get you into the most beautiful, desolate country to get broken down in." Your work is really time-intensive in this back country - that job must have taken you at least 4-5 hours just to get to it, and haul that truck out of there. Clever fix for the transfer case fluid, and good commentary.
Since 90% of these Chevy/ GMC vehicles are made in foreign countries, as well as their parts! Makes you wonder which part of Asia or South America they were made in.
