DIY Hair Color Remover with Vitamin C // No Bleach

  • THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL.... just an experiment.
    I had arctic fox semi permanent hair color in Violet Dreams and attempted vitamin c treatments three times to remove the color. I tried it only once a week because I was unsure how damaging it could be. In the end, I removed most of it with vitamin c, shampoo, and swimming in a pool.

      Wondering how your guys' results were!?
      It took me 2 sessions (spaced out a week and 3 deep conditioning treatments between) but MAN it worked! No more muddy, muted, dark brown sections! My hair is looking much more warm-toned than I remember; not sure if my hair has been lifted, if I simply forgot what my previous color looked like before I put dark brown dye over it, or if there are still some warmer tones that need removed.

    this hack works best if you rinse your hair under warm/hot water then put the vitamin c treatment.
    the warm, water opens the hair shaft to allow more product in and the dye to come out,
    also cover with a plastic cap...again heat from tor scalp lifts the hair shaft

    Just a tip for people passing by through the comments: here’s what I did (I have locs dyed blue and lifted to a green before trying this) I crushed about 12-15 tablets and then blended them to a powder. I mixed it with head and shoulders. I got very hot water in a big bowl and added lemon juice and about two table spoons of my vitamin c/H&S mixture until it dissolved. I let my hair sit in that for about five minutes before squeezing it out and applying the remainder of the mixture directly to my hair! I let it sit for 35 minutes before washing it out. My hair went from a blue green to a gold green.

    the reason this worked so well, was because of how much you opened the hair strands up with the vitamin c, the pool water was able to strip out most of the heavily worked sections. if anyones gunna do this don't just rely on pool water, it can also turn your hair green if you're going for blonde. hers turned blonde I'm sure because pink and green are on the opposite sides of the color wheel and cancel each other out :)

    Guys here's my recommendation: Mix it with DANDRUFF SHAMPOO!!!!!!!!!! Always apply to dry hair. I was able to remove my blue black permanent hair dye from my hair with dandruff shampoo and vitamin c in one go, and get it back to almost my natural brown color (not all the way back because permanent dye does lift your natural color a bit, so it would never go back all the way). Trust me, dandruff shampoo is the way to go. Just make sure you condition because it can be drying!

      It won’t because you went lighter. Lightened color is not removable because it strips and lightens the hair shaft. If you had bleached blonde underneath the caramel and you want the bleached blonde back it might work depending on the dye that was used. If so, try a test strand.

( i didn't use bleach )It has now gone back to my natural colour a bit but some parts are a little bit pink and it's an overall mess, i was hoping that if i use this method it would strip my hair to my natural colour, would this work? has anyone done anything similar to me? thanks 😚

    Would this work if i put a light brown dye over my dark hair (the dye only worked on my roots) so my roots are light brown & the rest is dark brown at removing the light brown or would it make it turn even lighter shade

    • @mickylene
      @mickylene  Před 3 lety +1

      The dye that you deposited on your hair only lightened/lifted your roots because it was your virgin hair. Virgin hair will take color more than your previously dyed dark brown hair.
      This remover only works to wash out colors, it does not lighten hair or darken hair, just strips the color.
      If you want to stay dark brown, you need to dye your roots dark brown to match the rest of your hair.
      If you still want to continue achieving light brown hair, I would suggest using L’Oréal hicolors. Those are best for dark hair. However, you need to apply the ends only until it matches your roots. This can be tricky so if you’re not too confident, I would seek a professional.
