Adding flavorings is a good way to make ourselves drink more water. Unfortunately, the flavored syrups you are recommending contain lots of unhealthy artificial ingredients. Yes, they are sugar free, but they are full of artificial sweeteners and food dyes, such as red dye #40 in the watermelon flavor. Worst of all are the artificial preservatives they contain. Sodium benzoate, in particular, has been linked to a number of health concerns, including cancer. There are better options available, such as sugar free drink powders that are sweetened with stevia, free of artificial colors and preservatives, and have the additional benefit of replenishing electrolytes. One brand that I like is called Ultima Replenisher. (I have no stake in the company. There are many other brands of the same type to choose from.)

Thanks for that recommendation, I'll check that out!
And just to set the record straight, sodium benzoate is only an issue when it's combined with ascorbic acid or citric acid (vitamin C). And yes, these are in the Watermelon syrup.
There are ingredients that some people do not want to ingest.
I am going to try the Ultima Replenisher - thanks for the recommendation.
