  • The term "aging in place" is often thought of by older adults as something they have to do AFTER an injury, accident or illness. But the reality is, that aging in place is what should be done BEFORE in order to help prevent an accident and/or injury which could then create or exacerbate an illness.

Agree about glass tables. However, the rug appears to be securely duct-taped down.

Yeah, I know that many people duct tape or get the skid free rugs but still, they are a small elevation and it's just not worth it, in my opinion to risk tripping over it. Then again, I am biased. I've seen so many older adults crippled or completely unable to live alone any longer simply because they tripped over their rug and suffered injuries that were not able to be repaired.
      It's just sad.

The steps get rid of the folding doors and get some hand rails on the steps. Or a ramp.

You are welcome! The house looked nice though. It just needed to be decluttered and made safer. I would love to see these two homeowners live there for the rest of their lives. Wouldn't that be nice?
