  • I have been looking at these (Cheap / Affordable)Amazon pit bikes, there’s many different brands Tao Tao, Apollo, Trailmaster. I bought this mini adventure dual sport bike, it’s the X Pro Storm 150cc DLX. Because they are Amazon bikes I was really apprehensive to order one.
    So I finally took the plunge to see what the build quality really looked like in person? How did the bikes feel like to ride? There really wasn’t many videos on them and no one actually talks about the true size If these bikes. This video I wanted to talk about where I bought the bike from, what comes in the shipping crate and what paperwork comes with it.
    I cover how to put it together and some extra tips along the way. Then i go through the process of getting the bike inspected at a Moto shop so i can make a (off road dirt bike) into a dual sport. I plan on testing this bike out and putting it thought it’ll paces to see how well a 150cc $1150 dual sport can hold up. Stay tuned for many more updates.

    I am 5’7 with a 30 inch inseam leg length and I have been looking for a dual sport motorcycle in that price range for a long time. I like that it has both kick and electric start. I’m going to follow along on your upcoming videos of this motorcycle because you have my interest on high on this one.

    I have the Hawk 150 and it’s a well made machine. Sure a number of parts are cast aluminum and not forged or billet, but they’re also beefier to make up for it. I’ve had mine for a couple years now and love it. It’s even taken a couple lay downs well with no issues. I had no issues getting the OHM registration from our DMV and was all good!

    These bikes are perfect to introducing people to the sport of riding and just having fun, best part is, you didn't spend a lot to buy in. There is nothing worse than dropping $5-8k on a bike big only for it to collect dust.
    Glad you're having fun out there Mike, looking forward to the other videos and hope you had a nice Christmas and Happy New Year!

      Right on! Yes I have seen the build quality come up on these bikes over the years, compared to the scooter I had and a crap quad my friend gave me. These bikes definitely seem much better then the other stuff. Thanks for checking out my new video! Happy New Years 😊👍

    New subscriber here. I’ve been sitting on the fence on this very bike for the last 3 weeks, so I really appreciate you putting the review together. Had a couple of dual sports (KLX250s, XT225) I sold last year because I rarely road them. Now kind of regret it, especially the XT225. Need something for occasional trail/street but not sure it’s possible to license in UT. I’ve looked at the Honda XR150L but can bring myself to spend 3K. Looking forward to your next videos!

    Hey man, cool videos! I am in Western WA also. Looking into options for affordable street legal dual sport options to be able to ride from my house near Darrington and access fire roads and forest service roads/trails. Not sure how far away you live, but I'd love to meet up and ride with you sometime or check out these bikes. Kinda thinking about buying one as a spare/wife's bike. Now that you have the 150 and the 250, which would you recommend?

    Nice compared to the older bikes. I bought a 200cc dual sport about 15 years ago for like $800.00 out the door from a dealer in Southern California. Company went out of business a few years later because the bikes didn't pass emissions - the initial emissions certificate was rescinded by the State of California. I was permitted to continue to register the bike. Sold the bike a few years later for $1100.00.

    I got a black one for my son for Christmas. It came 2 days ago and I put together last night. The gas tank was leaking, so being the weekend I sent an email complaining then I JB Welded the seam to stop the leak. I am hoping to get a new tank before Christmas but it is not leaking now, so I drove it around for a couple minutes. Runs well, but back tail lights aren't working, so I got to get a wiring diagram to figure that out. Well it's hid in shed until Christmas now

      @@Mikefestivaive owned several of these hawk Apollo Honda clone bikes they have been great bikes I did some research before I ever started the engine and the oil they send with the bikes is break in oil you only run it for s couple hours it will tell you in the owners manual how long to run the break in oil then put the specified oil in the bike and after that never had an issue with the bikes.Now I have known a few people who ran the bikes really hard with the break in oil and never changed it and after 3 months of riding every day for a couple hours locked the engine up, lucky the motors are fairly cheap compared to name brand engines great video Mike keep up the awesome work.

    Chineseium! But hey if it gets you there, out on the trails and up on some mountain ridge ( AND back again), why not. To be fair, some of the Chineseium that I've seen recently, Kove 450 Rally, have a lot of things like those foot pegs that you mentioned. They didn't have to make it that nice, but they did. The Kove 450 Rally covered in a ton of little touches where they definitely made it nicer than they had to especially considering the $$. Fun vid!

I'm in the process of collecting all the accessories to make it street legal because I have plans of putting it on the road this coming spring. I have more fun in that bike than my kx125 and my yz250 swapped blaster.

    Cheap/Affordable...... depends on the upkeep & any ongoing issues the manufacturer had w/ this series? The 1st video I've seen
    of yours is the X250 & I honestly thought this was the 2nd video in that series but Nope! The problems I saw back when the street
    bikes hit were poorly made screws/nutz -n- boltz that stripped easy or needed lock-tite to keep them in. I heard you mention parts
    coming & are those from their company or from other companies? WHAT I'm curious about is can you put better braking or other
    components on her - will they fit? I've also seen their handlebars bend up easy & I'm assuming you can change them out? I really
    like this bike better than the 250 for its lite weight - I can carry it w/o a trailer on a type of carrier that attaches to the truck frame
    so this one is cool. Are you lock-titing everything & have you had any stuff come out on you? They were notorious for this & I'm
    hoping you can shed light ~ I'm all Subb'd Up & Clanged the Bell so you'll be letting us know what you find? Thanks, peace & GB

    Awesome video man, cant wait for the video on the 250cc! Did you get the x, m, or the regular templar?

    • @Mikefestiva
      @Mikefestiva  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I ordered the regular model Templar because it had the lowest seat height and was the lightest model, so far I’m really pleased with the bike. There’s a few things I’m going to upgrade but right out of the crate it’s a great trail bike 👍 turns out the seat height is perfect for me, it’s actually about the same seat height of the 150.
      If you’re over 5’10” and over 180LBS I would think the X model with the adjustable suspension would probably be best.

    • @mrslam49
      @mrslam49 Před 4 měsíci

      Right on brother. I'm 5'7", wish they offered the adjustable suspension and the 6 speed at the lower height! I guess there's always give and take. Thanks for all the videos!

    • @Mikefestiva
      @Mikefestiva  Před 4 měsíci +4

      @@mrslam49 I should have the first video on the Templar 250 out in two weeks, I talk about the X model as well, honestly after sitting on my 250 out of the crate I think the 1.5” higher the X is I do think we could make it fit us with a few simple mods. I’m 5’7” as well. I think sliding the forks up in the clamps a little bit would help lower the front and backing off the spring preloaded in the rear or some people are drilling a second hole in the lower aluminum rear shock and it lowers the rear up to 2” depending on where you drill the second hole. If these videos do well I may take a gamble on the X later this year and review it side by side with the regular model because there’s actually many differences between the bikes.
      I hope this info helps.

Down here in cali we can't registered new dirt bikes unless they say they confirm to bla bla bla. I've really wanted a 125cc dual sport , that's the closet I've seen so far, there is one company that is suppose to come out with one in california tho.

    Merry Christmas Mike! Congratulations on the new bike, nothing like that feeling you get with a new machine. I believe the main reasons those bikes are listed as off road use only are to avoid emissions, and the plastic fuel tank. Street legal bikes are required to have steel tanks in the US. Brrraaaaap!
