Thanks for the honest review, Mike! Truth is you have more riding under your belt than 99% of the yahoos who leave dumb comments. 35 years is no joke and gives you good honest perspective. Thanks for taking the time to share!
Thanks Bryan ๐ I really appreciate it man!
I continue to enjoy your videos. I've been out on the trails on my Templar 250 base model now and I like it. For what it is, it would be hard to expect more. I really like the size and layout of the bike and have no trouble at 6' tall. I think your review is spot on.
The thing I like about your reviews of the china bikes is that you're actually using them, not just blasting across a field and saying how good/bad it is.
I appreciate that these bikes make it cheaper and easier for more people to get out on the trails and enjoy the sport. Sure, maybe they're not right for everyone - but they're right for lots of folks, whether it's a long-term bike, or just a stepping stone to something else. Plus the more people that buy them, the better the quality continues to get.
Cool channel Mike. Don't change nothing, we'll keep watching. Thanks for your effort.
Thanks Paul! I appreciate it man ๐๐
people talking crap about Chinese made bike sending messages on a Chinese made phone!!!!!!
Haha exactly ๐
Literally was thinking just that haha
look up, "whataboutism"
๐๐๐ YOU KNOW HOW THEY ARE
Bike snobs are the worst. They should just be happy these bikes exist so more people can get out and ride.
Exactly ๐
People diss Chinese bikes, then brag about their new KTM that was manufactured in China. ๐
Appreciate the hard work you put into your videos. Thanks Mike!!
Thanks man! I appreciate it ๐๐
I understand people don't like Chinese stuff. But that's the world we live in right now. For the price it's hard to beat.
Like it or not, those Chinese bikes are a lot of value for the money. At those prices, you can afford upgrades and still come out ahead. I am a 4 stroke fan myself!
Don't mind the haters. Keep up the great videos!
After your first vid I bought a Templar 250 X and after 350 miles it is getting smoother in the shifting, suspension, engine is more powerful, and I am very pleased so far. Also- the Honda CRF125F I was going to buy for 3x the price is.... wait for it-
.....made in China.
Right on! Iโm glad itโs smoothing out, so far I feel these bikes offer great value ๐๐
Sounds like a lot of people that should keep their opinions to themselves! Keep doing exactly what you're doing. ๐โ๏ธ
You make some really good content I'm not even into bikes but enjoy watching these videos
Now this is what I want to watch on lunch break!
been driving mine with a 38T rear sprocket on the street for 700+ miles so far. i also swap sprockets on the weekend and hit the sand dunes of nevada with friends. been a great bike so far!
Right on! ๐๐
Thanks for all the videos on the templar. I have the templar 250 standard like you got in blue and im really liking it.
I have the 300cc version of that engine in my Hawk 250. The transmission โnotchinessโ will ease up after a few hundred miles. Initial break in is at 500 miles, then at @ 1000 miles, that engine will start to really sing!
NB300-F?
Another great video filled with in depth analysis and constructive critiques. The bike looks like a lot of fun and a great alternative for those cash strapped, thanks again for making quality content Mike ๐
Thanks James! Yes so far I still feel the bike offers great value for what you get and how capable it is. ๐
Great video, love the budget nature of the channel
Thanks Mike! ๐๐
Seems like a great scoot! Perfect buddy bike. Sorry youโre catching hate. I bleed orange, but 12-14k for a new KTM (thatโs also now made in China) is silly. Hopefully this bikes price gets more people on trail, which is the most important thing at the end of the day. Thanks for the vid.
Great weight and price comparisons versus some of the other 150, 200, etc small dual sports out there. Dealers were marking up the XT250 to over $7,000 a couple of years back. Crazy! Ended up paying huge dealer markup on an XR150L for my daughter mostly for brand name for her sake, but I would have been just as happy with a Templar. BTW, the Templar X just came back in stock today at X-Pro!
Love the review! Just waiting for these to come back in stock now!
Right on ๐ thanks for checking out my new video ๐ I should have more updates on this bike over the summer!
Love the videos. It surprises me how many insecure and miserable people are out there. Only thing that makes them feel like somebody is to talk shit to people. I hope you just laugh it off and donโt let it get to you. Any mini truck off-roading camping in the works? Thanks again for the videos.
Thanks for the vid Mike!!
The bike performed well and what a view! Perfect weather. Awesome review Mike.
Thanks Doug! So far I really have been enjoying this bike, time will tell how it holds up. ๐
I like these bike videos. Wish my local terrain was that good! Looking forward to see how these two bikes work out for you
Looks like fun Mike! Thanks for sharing and taking the time to review the bike.
Thanks for checking out my video!
Finding your videos very informative and still getting more interested in getting one of these especially if when I'm ready to get one in the future and find out its lasting for you
Thank you Mike for looking at these bikes for what they are. I have name brand bikes for singletrack and trials riding and find myself grabbing the little Templar X quite often as it just takes me back to riding as a kid on old Honda XR's where you could override the bike at will. It was pure fun. Mine is a year old now with zero failures and while that isn't Honda territory it's a good start.
Another great video Mike! Thanks!!
Thanks man ๐๐
Great stuff Mike. That little 4 stroke looks like lots of fun! ๐๐
Thanks ๐ itโs been a fun bike so far ๐
What an awesome trail network you got there!!! Sure wish there were trails like that around here! Love your videos! Cheers from Northern Alberta.
Thanks for checking out my new video! Yes we got lots of good trails around my place, definitely have more videos coming this Summer ๐๐
China bikes are great if people keep expectations real. Of course itโs not as good but itโs really cheap. I have a Chinese atv that 3 boys learned on with 10yrs of WOT and Iโve had to replace the front hubs which were $15 on Amazon. Still starts right up and doesnโt smoke
๐ Nice project!
๐ Glad it came out okay!
Nice scenery!
Thanks! I appreciate it ๐๐
Awesome stuff, Mike!!!!!
Thanks man ๐๐
Dude you have a awesome place to ride
Great Video Bro!!!
Thanks man ๐๐
awesome review! def buying one. What mic you use? quality is great
Heck yeah man!
Iโve got nothing against the Chinese bikes good entry level price as long as itโs welds are safe I had a Chinese quad and the axle snapped not long into owning it keep making the videos on it man it sounds great
Iam a Honda guy but that bike looks and sounds decent for the price.
Itโs about time someone post a video of actually pushing one of these bikes on some nice single track. Iโve been learning towards the Trailmaster tm35.
Thanks for checking out my new video, definitely more trail rides coming this Summer. I think those TM 35 bikes look great ๐
Been thinking of selling my kx250 smoker and getting a klx300 or just adding a tm35 and keeping the kx. Iโve always liked the wheel base of the kdx and the klx is basically the same except the weight factor. Wish they made a air cooled 400cc Chinese 4 stroke.
Hi Mike, another great video! I'm having a great cup of coffee that I brewed with my Chinese made Hydroflask insulated French press. I buy non Chinese as much as possible but that Hydroflask press is about a third of the cost of a US made one, it's just reality.
As far as 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke, my Dad always steered us to the 4 strokers for reliability and longevity.
I love when you upload!
@Mikefestiva Man, keep doing what you do. China โjunkโ or not, reality is budget stuff is or can be good and youโre the best channel Iโve seen for budget stuff. Appreciate ya!
I have the full size X model with the full adjustable suspension two years before you got yours. I also commute daily on the streets with it. No issues. There's another data point for you from a real owner.
I would love to take my KFX 700 out on those trails. They look so fun.
I need one for my 12 mile commute to work!
Another great video. Canโt wait the for update on the 150. Howโs the cabin?
Thanks Chris! Yes I think Iโm going to start on the 150 video this weekend ๐
The cabin is good, took a bit of a break from it, just started on the siding again, then jumping inside to start the wiring ๐
I donโt ride but I did find this video informative and I certainly enjoyed the scenery (Makes me want to visit the PNW).
Thanks for checking out my new video! Yes the PNW is a great place especially in the Spring and Summer.๐
lol, some dumb things said on the internetโฆnow that needs to be on a tee shirtโฆlove the videos Mike, keep bringing us along and weโll keep watching..:)
You know it's going to be a good Friday when a new Festiva video drops! I wonder how many negative commenters watched or posted from their Chinese made TV, computer, or phone? Keep plugging away Mike. I guess the upside to me having a channel nobody watches is there are no comments to be concerning with!๐
These Chinese motors are great nowadays, from what I've heard alot of them just take outdated honda/kawi/ etc blueprints and make carbon copies. Only thing that worries me is electrics and bearings and such but at that price point it's no deal breaker. Totally agree with your 2 stroke opinion too, they just need constant pampering, an air cooled 4 stroke might not be as much fun as a snappy smoker but might end up on a crf250f in the future just for the simplicity...
Only miserable people talk shit yr doing good thing for people , whom can't afford 9,000 for a new dual sport / rock on bro
Looks like loads of fun still, and some beautiful country to ride through. I wouldn't have guessed you were that low elevation. If I say something mean about the bike, will I get a cameo in the next bike update? :)
Here we go!
I've been riding quads alot lately and this seems so much faster pace in general, I dont think I could keep up on those trails! lol. Its just a little old Yamaha Kodiak 400 but its fun
Hey Mike, i also live in WA and have a templar x on its way to me right now. Just wondering if you know of any good places to ride like in this video around the Seattle area? Also thanks for the videos on this bike, it helped me decide which one to get.
this is just what I'm looking for price wise. I've been looking at the Kawi 450 type but it is way more than I need to spend on something I would only use for just putting around the forest on, not racing, just sight seeing. I hope they have larger models for taller people.
These look like they might be a decent affordable spare/buddy bike. I'm keeping my 2014 Husaberg Fe501, which is just a husky fe501, with PDS, instead of linkage. Plus it's the last Husaberg, everything past 2014, switched to husqvarna.
Awesome video as always Mike!
I really can't understand haters.. I mean back in the 60โs- and 70โs, JAPANESE bikes were considered throwaway bikes by large groups of riders, especially because they were siginifigantly cheaper than American or Euro bikes at the time!
Of course time proved that stereotype wrong..
I get guys not wanting to "fund" Communist China, but that train of logic left the station long ago..
Purchased the Apollo Thunder 250 (223cc in reality) last year from 360 powersports. I hadnโt been on a dirt bike in years and wanted to get back into it on the trails behind my house without spending a small fortune. Itโs been a blast so far.
Nice ๐ these bikes offer a lot of value and fun for the price ๐
Bought my x pro Templar x 250cc late Jan of this year. Put 2700 ish miles on it. WA weather sucks! But itโs fun to hit the trails and a daily commuter
Haha yes the Weather this spring has been extra wet and cold. Glad to hear you have been getting some good riding out of your Templer ๐ keep me posted on your miles and if you happen to have any problems ๐
I had an earlier model a Roketa 200 dual sport 07' model, it was very durable and never let me down. Only problem is you have to know how to work on bikes and do everything yourself. Also getting parts can be a chore, specially after you owned it for a few years. I couldn't get the plastics for mine anymore or the air filter so I had to start modding it to make stuff work. All the Name brand bike dealers wont touch them either if you need work done, that has been my experience with mine. Getting it registered was a bit tricky and make sure you get the MCO with it or your screwed getting it licenced. Thats Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin for those that don't know. Welds were a bit rough and bearings, seals, but mine was a Honda clone so some of the Honda parts worked. Can't beat the price though, and they seem to be getting better quality. ๐
Prices are going crazy on the 150+ cc bikes over the last year, this bikes already $300 more.. fighting with myself on whether or not I should spend $1000 more on the new Orion RXB-250L H.O. since I weigh 225lbs.
Thanks for the videos.
Mikie just keep on doing you,and ignore the haters and todds.. After all,why do they even come to your places if all they got is rude, hate, ugly, todded ๐ฉ??? Keep on keeping on brother.. ๐โ๏ธ
Hey Mike great video will definitely be getting one soon, But was wondering if you still have the Suzuki quadrunner lt-4wd if so maybe a video update thanks....Indio.
Thanks for checking out my new video! Yes I still have my Suzuki, itโs a beast, I have it out on another piece of property, now it lives itโs life and a work horse/ camp quad. Maybe I will bring it back this summer and make another video on it. ๐๐
I have a question. is your front suspension stiff like the one I got it just seem like it could be better. I'm the same size and weight as you but that front end don't feel like it has much travel. Thanks.
Mike Festiva video? Work can wait.
Haha ๐ ๐๐
The Honda XR150L is assembled in Mexico with mostly Chinese parts. Iโm not a fan of China but they do have a lot of affordable products that are good enough. You can have the same amount of fun on any bike
really tempting compared to the klx 300 or honda 300 dualsport. the honda is even hard to find at my local dealerships. i was in the market for a quad in 2021 and my buddy told me about this brand CFMOTO. a chinese company that was thousands of dollars less than the competition. so i went for it and got the 1000cc overland quad. overall i am very impressed with the build quality. sure, the suspension isnt as plush as a polaris but it has plenty of power and we will see how it holds up over the years. i was always skeptical about chinese powersports because they were pretty junky. but they have definitely stepped their game up.
It would be interesting to figure out which engine they copied for this bike. Maybe with minimal investment more power could be coaxed from it, same thoughts about the suspension too.
I'm an older guy, and weigh in at 240. Any suggestions on a dual sport for my size? I'm 5.9". Can you upgrade the shocks? I have a couple vintage 'dual sports'. A Honda 1970 CT90 and a 1982 Honda XL 185s. I would like something a bit more modern, these are just for putting around.
Great video. Iโm in WA too. Where were you guys riding? I just ordered my Templar x. What hand guards did you add? Any others add ons or mods? Will you change out the carb? Thanks for time.
He has videos showing everything that's been done to this bike as well as the others he has bought.. Go check em out, subscribe and don't forget to hit that thumbs up ๐
Thanks man ๐๐

Looks like fun. Looks like a good solution for an extra bike for spouses, or friends for that price. Curious if it has any emissions stickers, stamps on the pipe, or VIN numbers to allow registration as is needed in most of the States for riding on public lands.
A lot of the hate comes from what has traditionally come from China, terrible welds, bad metals, poor assembly. It really comes down to QA and QC. There usually isnt any for most of those companies. Ive been to many Chinese factories doing inspections and have seen this a lot first hand.
Heck, Im sure a lot of the Japanese or even European bikes are actually 95% made in China, but if you are on them to make it right, its just fine. Just cause it says made or assembled in Taiwan, Japan, etc that doesnt mean much. Ive seen them walk products on the back of a bike and import them from different countries just to say its made or assembled there.
@10:40 Dr. Dre always dropping the knowledge ๐
Haha ๐ ๐
Good Video. I Hope You Don't Mind Me Asking About The 150. Nothing's Popped Up Since Your "Mods" Video & I Was Wondering How It's Holding Up. Thank You.
My Storm 150 is still doing good ๐
I should have another video update fairly soon, I plan on installing a Nibbi carb and a FMF exhaust. I still feel the bike offers good value and itโs a lot of fun on the trails ๐
Got me a Chinese kayo 250 EFI dirt bike it does petty good . I was really surprised
Right on ๐ they seem to offer great value!
I definitely will check out the Kayo bikes some time.
@@Mikefestiva i recommend GPX.
You could be doing something for 100 years and some guy who has just gotten into it will think he knows more.
don't think you can do a comparative review that will yield any difference within the first n years. we know corners were cut for price point but where and is it relevant for use?
time will tell. I'd like to see what your take is on it after you've done a few maintenance cycles.
Any recommendations near wenatchee for beginner orv/blm boondocking single track riding? I got my kids some bikes, and I'm having difficulties finding a decent website with dirtbike trail riding/camping.
1700 $ unbelievable ๐ฌ๐ง๐
Can you tell me what trail system this is?
Ignore the $hit talkers. At $1700 delivered who cares if you need to work on a few thing's.
Will the engine do well for a cross cart
I think the people complaining would be appalled at how many Chinese products they themselves buy if they had the tiniest amount of self-awareness.
Haha yes I have pointed this out to some of them and it just adds fuel to the fire ๐ฅ they get extra mad. Thereโs a lot of people that love to tell others what they are doing wrong but ignore the fact they are doing the same thing. Thanks for checking out my new video and commenting ๐๐
like their pos GM truck? hahjahahahhaha
One thing I have noticed, is alot of bolts come loose. Once you have about 300 miles on it, you will start to bottom out the suspension, and the brake pads will need to be changed for safety.
Blue lock tight, and routine maintenance definitely goes a long way on any motorcycle for sure ๐
Hey mike i have a couple of questions of the bike that i couldnt seem to find online, im planning on buying this bike and potentially converting it into a supermoto. I couldnt find any information about what the hubs seems to support, or much about the rims and tires about the bike. I was wondering if it was possible if you could share the width of the front and rear tires, and possible clearance issues i could run into with putting thicker street tires, as well as what the front hub of the wheel is. Love the videos about this bike, and seems awesome, cant wait to get my own soon ๐๐งก๐งก๐งก
For the rear tire if you put anything wider then what the bike has youโre gonna run into the problem with the tire rubbing the chain. I put a slightly bigger chain and it rubs the tire. lol probably because my tire isnโt centered but whatever lol. As for the front Iโm not sure, Iโve heard shinko 705โs are great tires
I think Dr. Dre also sed "and you can't make your Limo into neither".
Does anybody know how this bike would compare to the Bashan Brozz?
Turbo!
comment for the algorithm! ๐
Well it's too bad you can't get this model on Amazon anymore. I did see it on the X Pro website however.
โค
๐๐๐
These are pretty decent trail bikes for what they are and the price point you wonโt take one of these on a mf track and expect the same result as a Honda or Kawasaki
Haters gonna hate!
You should try the 250x ive been looking at both and wondering if the x is better for me but it seems like itd be too tall. Im 5'8" 200lbs.
Iโm pretty sure the X model is to big for me and is another 20 LBs heavier unfortunately.
I got the same bike I'm 5'9 190 I love it I'm on the east coast
