- One of the most effective ways of clearing fields using Courseplay and Autodrive in FS22 is using forage harvesters, for whatever reason it tends to work very seamlessly. There are two key ways of doing it, whole crop silage or a grass pickup header. in this video, I explore how to do both.

There is a setting for field exit in auto drive. If you are running a one way course like you showed here you can change it from default to exit after wait point and this avoids the traffic jam at the wait point.
That's a game changing tip right there, thank you!
Thanks FSG for the tutorial. Courseplay was the reason I made the switch to pc back in FS 17. Your tutorials have really helped me over the years.
Thanks Randy, great to hear mate 👍
To the point, clear top quality stuff lad, and who doesn't like a long pipe 😅
"that's what she said!"
Your tutorials are amazing! The one you did not too long ago on multiple combines and auger wagons eliminated some massive frustrations I was dealing with and I don’t do forage harvester work but going to fire some up just to make use of this tutorial! Seriously, your vids have created so much more enjoyment of Farm Sim for me!
That makes me so happy to hear, thanks my friend 👍
Thanks for the videos. They have made my FS game play even more fun than it was already.
Great tutorial FSG as always and keep up with the great videos 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome tutorial! 😃
Thanks a lot for showing! 😊👍🏻
No problem Olaf 👍
Thanks for this, love forage gameplay
Another awesome tutorial. Thank you.
Cheers David 👍
Great Vid, what i do is usally save my windrow course as [fieldxx]row/bale/chop so it allows for easy access to courses with less clutter. same with mower i will save as [fieldxx]mow/bale/chop in case i want to pick up like you did there with grass. total life saver when you have 100+ fields to manage
Great tip Hamish!
So helpful. Thanks!
You're welcome Wez!
Excellent Tutorial FSG. I tried this last night and it messed up. I am sure I had the harvester set to a different way point. I agree with the populous, your tutorial videos are amazing. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones
Thanks Dancer, I appreciate that
You could use two trailers hitched to forage harvester instead of a separate tractor beside it possibly, maybe not where as this is my first time doing auto and course play. Although now i think of it, it most likely faster using multiple tractors lol
Nice...the only time I tried wholecrop silage, I was using only courseplay. I did not have a good time. I'll give it another go with AD running the trailers.
Could AD be effective at automating sugarcane harvest? There seems to be a lack of cane automation how-to's on youtube.
100% i never use CP for carting these days
Thanks FSG.
Another excellent tutorial, FSG! Thanks! I enjoy driving the harvester myself but need course play and auto drive to do the carting. Is that possible? I have been using "follow me" but it won't deliver and unload. A very Merry Christmas to you, my friend!
And to you bud, hope you have a good one, courseplay can deliver but I’ve never found it to be as good as AD, and never tried it for forage, but for example, it won’t follow a combine, it’ll just sit in the field so could be miles away when you want to unload. So not entirely sure if it would work at all with a forage harvester, I’ll have to test
Well worth a test and a vid@@TheFarmSimGuy, AD chasers for manual harvesting does work, i usually bump the pre call level right down to 30 and you'll have a trailer following along most of the time. Adding a keybind for call loader is also really handy.
Thank you both for the replies! I am still very new to courseplay and AD. Theses tutorials are such a help' and FSG, you are the best!
Two questions.
First, since I don't think it was mentioned in previous (Combine and augur wagon) or this video, can you drive combine on your own, as opposed to setting up the Courseplay course? Will the autodrive tractors be able to follow along human driver?
Second, have you tried this with vegetable harvester, especially the large DeWulf ZKIVSE, as that one also lacks internal storage for harvested crops?
Hi, yes indeed, you just need to ensure the tractor on Autodrive and the combine have the same wait point selected as you would setting it up for couseplay, but then instead of hitting go on courseplay you just drive the combine manually. I've not tried it with the veg harvester but as with the forage chopper in the vid, which also has no storage, it should just sit and wait until a trailer runs alongside it
Now I need to figure out how to get auto drive to back into a bunker and tip.
Perfect boss
Thanks Cranks 👍
Great tutorial I only have one problem I can’t seem to get it to work with modded forage harvesters e.g the colossus forage harvester the tractor won’t follow unless I tab between them and then it either stops or runs right into the back of the harvester
Not sure why that's not working, I don't use the collossus stuff, too unrealistic for me, actually thinking about it, the speed is probably the thing that could be stopping it working. try running it at 6 or 8mph and see if it works?
Something’s wrong with colossus 6000 forage and this version of course play. Wait for next version and hopefully it will be fixed. Yes the speed can cause issues but the sort of issues it’s having has to do with calling the truck as well. There isn’t much info for it online yet so just keep tweaking settings. The krone forage harvester and the 15 meter head works great tho
Is there away to set a course to tip at a silage clamp, instead of a sell point?
Yes absolutely, I’ve already done a video on that 👍

@@glenjones6980 Thanks Glen, I meant to do that last night and got distracted 👍
Thank you!
Is it possible to do the job of setting up courseplay in sim dashboard
You could add the keybinds that courseplay has into Sim Dash but some functions you need the mouse for so it wouldn’t do everything
I did the exact same thing as you, but when my helper pulls up to the dump spot he will dump then stop and it won’t let me hire him again until I drive him back to the field. Do u know what’s going on?
It should loop and just keep going til you tell it to stop, check you settings and make sure there isn’t somthing telling it to wait
@@TheFarmSimGuy ok thanks
FSg I think it would be he sick if in survival wilderness you got a Toyota t100 mod to use for a truck
Do you know if there's a mod for it?
U didn't show how to make tractors follow the combine or maybe I'm dumb since i never used autodrive yet
You don't tell them, they work it out for themselves from the wait point
@@TheFarmSimGuy oh it's easier than I thought thanks
what os the map name you are playing on?
Calmsden Farm
Cześć kolego co to za mapa. Pozdrowienia z Polski
Calmsden farms my friend
For the life of me i can't get it to work :( Keeps saying No Harvester with Same target found. ah well
Make sure your harvester is on the field wait point and the tractors hauling are the same wait point
@TheFarmSimGuy I'll give it a go, cheers man, learned loads from your vids
