Note, the version I am using is the development version that isn't yet in the modhub so the "Manual edge distance" option won't show up, if you'd like to test that functionality out you can download the beta version from GitHub. The update will be coming to the modhub soon. github.com/jason0611/FS22_HeadlandManagement
Awesome, just got into VCA and this will go along nicely. Might be worth noting that not only do you need to download the headland management mod but you also need to add it to your vehicle through a service point. Took me a little while to figure that out! Thanks FarmSim Guy.
Funny how my brain works. Headlands Management was missing certain edges of the fields while navigating these crazy field edges. You suggested that you come back and finish or tidy up the work that Headlands management had missed. My brain lol was telling me. That I would come back and actually customize, and re-create a new edge for the field. Then Headlands Management would work like a pro the next time. Please keep doing these tutorials. You are a great teacher.
Thank you for another great video. After finding your YT channel I had to reconsider playing FS on console and switched to PC. So many amazing fashions that you introduced me were really worth every penny invested. And I'm already looking forward to more, great job sir.
Great tutorial. It’s amazing the features that are overlooked. Thanks for bringing this to light. I’m the world’s worst to skim through the settings missing features such as this.
Love your videos!! I’ve done quite a bit of farming here in central Oklahoma and I don’t know anyone that does the headlands (we call them end-rows) first. They are always the very last thing we do before we leave the field. I’d really like to see a video where you might incorporate this preference? Perhaps in your new American Contractor series. Again I do understand it’s a preference!! Can’t wait for your next video! Keep it up!
Im impressed FSG! 👍👍👍👍👍 How do you manage to make the one great tutorials again and again? I am looking forward to the others coming up in the future! Im really appreciating all that you do for us!
Cool. I do think though it would be nice if you had an option in things like this and courseplay to have it do the working out from the middle front of the implement so as to avoid the issues of overlap. I have always wanted courseplay, specifically from using it, to take the second round straighter. What I mean is when it goes around it follows the edge of the filed and can be jagged. This slows down the vehicle as it does all the little turns. If on the second time around it overlapped slightly with the first run it could just go straight so by the time it comes for the 3rd time round the edge of its run would be smoothed out.
IT'S NICE THAT YOU BROKE THIS UP FROM THE OTHER WAYS. IT MAKES EASIER TO UNDERSTAND!!! MOST TRY TO COVE IT ALL AT ONE TIME AND CONFUSE YOU. OLD RULE K.I.S.S. Keep it simple, stupid (KISS) is a design principle that states that designs and/or systems should be as simple as possible. Wherever possible, complexity should be avoided in a system-as simplicity guarantees the greatest levels of user acceptance and interaction.
I have never used GPS before and not understand how it works. This looks like a nice mod, but I guess I have to learn how to use the GPS in general first. Thank you for the video
How I overlooked this for so long... I do not know... this is PRECISELY the type of thing our trimble gps does for both our spray tractor and big seeding tractor in the real world! Now I'm interested in finding out what it'll do when it comes into contact with islands in the field, and that contour feature...
It would be great to have a built in auto stop at the edges at a certain distance, so that you could do it like IRL, where you do the rows first, THEN do the headlands.
The main focus from Giants is making a solid foundation with the game and having it accessible to all in term of their hardwere and console of choice. Then to make that everything functions as intended and enjoyable for the casual too. Its not about modder is doing something Giants themself cant do.
I've noticed something that I'm not sure is correctable, and I suspect is a problem with Contour Guide. Articulated and two-track tractors don't function well with this mode, they work fine with just headland management though. The tractors I mentioned will wander badly left-to-right in an S-pattern essentially, failing to go straight along the edge or even following it in a curve. Same for anything with four-wheel steer. Row-crop tractors and any harvester handle it just fine. I don't know if this has been a problem for anyone else, but I found it impossible to use an articulated or two-track tractor, and a four-wheel steer sprayer didn't want to follow the field boundaries either. I suppose it could be an issue with the field boundaries because of whoever made the map, but I don't know. I've not found any videos that address this issue.
Don't know if you can help. I downloaded the mod but can't get it to open. When I hit Lshiftx nothing open but tractor will open implement. Tried changing keys but still doesn't work.
Can I suggest checking out @disturbedsimulations who does some extremely in depth tutorials on integrating Headland management with all three of the GPS mods czcams.com/video/rNhTFhXIf7U/video.html
@@TheFarmSimGuy thank you, I’ll have to do some more trials. I was on a nearly straight edge and it couldn’t follow it at 2mph. Will have to see if I can try a dead straight field or find some sensitivity option of some sort

I was just about to ask what version you are using as the modhub version doesn't have manual distance
I couldn't get the development version to work. Game seems to think it's corrupted for whatever reason. Hopefully the Modhub version gets updated soon

Good idea. Let it run through 1 time and then just paint the areas it missed with grass.

I tend to shy away from maps such as these, but now I'm thinking 🤔
Thanks for that FSG. Great tutorial. I could not make the Dazed lesson but didn't have to wait long for the tutorial I needed.
Haha, no worries Mark 😉👍

Great little overview on contour following! It was fun going over it all with you and Argsy :]
Thanks for your wisdom on it mate, much appreciated

Yeah that's a good way of looking at it
That is coming in a future version of CP with their new course generator.
I'm liking that so a bit if a play on a test map seems to be in order later.
Great tutorial as always FSG on headland management 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow, I didn't even know that function existed. Thanks for the awareness!
Another great tutorial mate, been wanting to get my head around this mod for a while now I can get into using it. Thanks

Thanks for the tutorial! Waiting for more information on this.
Thanks FSG. What an amazing mod.
Great stuff FSG, agree that is cool. I feel another Sim Dash screen is required?
didn't even know this one existed going to use it now though thx

Effect of missing edges due to fixed drawbar, rolling drawbar if it could be built into game would assist in alleviating
Very lovely and measurement 👍

Courseplay allows you to do the work in that order :~)
Headland Management has this function in it too
@@TheFarmSimGuy I’m a console scrub. :)
It's amazing how a modder can figure something like this out yet the people who created the game can't.
I’m sure they can it’s more about what the priorities are

Yeah I found that too, I found dropping the speed right down on the turns helps a lot, but definitely an issue with it trying to over compensate
Fantastic!
Good video farm sim guy ❤

Nice mod
How do we implement headland management when it’s integrated with guidance steering(gps). I’m brand new to this kid and could get get it to work
Can I suggest checking out @disturbedsimulations who does some extremely in depth tutorials on integrating Headland management with all three of the GPS mods czcams.com/video/rNhTFhXIf7U/video.html
Wouldn't it just be easier to use courseplay and autodrive?
is there a way to make the turn in a headland? for field that has trees or something next to the field and leave no space to turn?
I'm not sure what you mean, if you need to turn at the end of a row, just add more headlands in
Would be more useful knowing how to create a field and miss all the fences etc but I'm guessing that is beyond it's capability.
That’s not what this mod is for you want courseplay for that
Does this work with articulated tractors? I'm having it go chaotic as it puts the sensor in the middle of the tractor?
It does but you need to drive really slowly especially on the turns
@@TheFarmSimGuy thank you, I’ll have to do some more trials. I was on a nearly straight edge and it couldn’t follow it at 2mph. Will have to see if I can try a dead straight field or find some sensitivity option of some sort
courseplay does this and more
Only if you want to use Courseplay though, it's nice to have choices. Also you can't set up Proseed or tramlines with Courseplay
I don't understand, does this hold something more than Courseplay?
It’s a more manual approach your still driving but it tracks the field edge
