- Fingers crossed you see instant improvement after watching this video. I've used a combination of personal experience and a never-ending passion for rugby to piece together what factors come together to complete an effective tackle. Don't worry, each of these tips can be used to inform coaches, parents or friends.
Hope you enjoy this video. All use of footage is completely transformed to suit alignment with the research essay / analysis and adheres to fair use. If any issues please make contact with me.
As always thanks for watching! & please share with your rugby mates!

As a female coach to children, you explained this so well. 💯 Thanks!
Good video. The first step to have a good (and safer) tackle is the trajectory you take to get to the ball carrier. It sould allow you to don't let the choice of the direction to the ball carrier then you can have speed in the zone of contact. If you let the choice to the ball carrier ,he will slow you down and have an advantage.
And the way I use to build confidence is to teach them first to do chop tackle (really safe and effective tackles) and after teach them the offensive tacles you show.
The difference between this both technics are little.
Every training 20 min of tackling.
Thank you. This is the video I've been looking for.
Great video mate. Have a good time tackling that Turkey! (If you have turkey over there for Christmas 🤣) Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Haha I’ll eat any meat I can get! 🤣 Merry Christmas brother, all the best!

Merry Christmas legend 🍻
Thanks for the help. I play rugby and I’m pretty 🚽 at tackling.

You’re still better than that Pumas centre bro lmao

@@NZTrumpFan that's why I'm asking. I supposed you were talking about him. I'm from Argentina and the only thing worst than our politicians is cinti's defending ability, or probably our economy and then him
Thanks mate very good information!
Great Video, im getting back into rugby after almost almost 16years and these videos are helping me a lot to feel more confident.
Thanks legend! Glad it helps 💪 keen to hear how you go
Merry Christmas from the northern hemisphere ug some good tips tanks
Merry Christmas mate!! All the best 🍻
great video bro. do you maybe have any tips on how to tackle a strong ball carrier? for example jordie barrett is good at giving a power step just before the point of contact which makes it more difficult for the defender to grab a hold of the knees and get a good shot on him, which more more often than not leads to a bump off? thanks and happy new year💪
Wow, no Mike Catt references!😂 Good job, very insightful
He should send this vid to Dave Porecki Lucio Cinti and that Japan 12 bro
Thanks legend!! Merry Christmas, have appreciated your support throughout the year.
@@uggy bro get Santa to give you a play button for Christmas if you can sink him to the bottom of the yardie first

Nice work Uggy 👌🏻
Cheers bro! Merry Christmas
I never knew anyone wanted no contact. I was always going in wishing that it was all contact 😂
Another great vid, uggy. One thing to consider adding is head position to avoid the head in front of ball carriers hips. Definitely need players to avoid tackling with their face. Search Colin Slade's greatest hits for an example of what to avoid.
I was playing when hooking the far leg became a key concept, which was practiced in slow-mo cos up until then, we'd been taught quite differently. Drive a shoulder into the pelvis and connect hands behind the back, butt, thighs so if the power wasn't strong we could slide down to the legs for a knee or ankle tackle. The biggest issue with the change was spear tackles. The technique I had learnt when young promoted driving players up and off their feet, so hooking the leg imbalanced the tackle. I reckon we spent a year spearing each other in games until players worked out the new style
Legend!! And the technique in the thumbnail 🤣
Hope you had a good Christmas with loved ones. Appreciate your support.
I find really useful to tackle diagonally and standing between opposition player so I have one player per shoulder. I am not huge so it also helps with the big guys to have them tackle sideways, to avoid powersteps.
I come from the tackle school of Frank Bunce, Brian Lima, Jerry Collins, Michael Jones, Apollo Perelini, and Sam Tuitupou. ☠️
Thanks bruh got tackled today 😭
Uggy is a better 7 than Sam Cane g

Bro you should have taught Sam Cane so he didn’t get the red in the final
🤣🤣 crack up. Merry Christmas brother!
Player changed direction and stepped into Cane. Cane had zero time to lower body.
All RWC and red cards have taught us to change direction fast so other player will get red carded
@@KekeHimona he had heaps of time g he was just lazy and didn’t go low enough see TBJ’s video he knows far more than woke Squidge rugby Uggy the only CZcamsr better than TBJ and Hakatime bro Sam Cane needs to stay in Japan or I’ll keep supporting Ireland who won the real RWC final against the Boks

Stop criticizing elite players, than only show your lack of level to understand what happening in the field at their level.
