I had the 50mm it was pretty sick. I sold it because it was hard to find a situation to use it. This wider lens would be more practical. Great video as usual man.

Fantastic video! Got a quick question. I'm a livestreamer on the a5100, going to be upgrading to the ZV-e10 at some point. I'm currently using a 35mm manual focus lens that's around five feet from where I'm sitting. When I do my next setup overhaul, I'm hoping to achieve the anamorphic look while also bringing the camera a bit closer to me. About how far are you sitting from the camera in this video, if you remember? I know it's been a while, no worries if you don't remember. Thanks for the video man!

Hi Chris, do you think the 24mm has the best/more pleasing anamorphic streaks out of the 3 focal lenghts?
Very interesting point about no crop mode on the A7Siii. I would assume that is due to the resolution and a cropped image would be down around 5mp. Very neat de-squeeze.
Yeh it’s because it’s a 12mp sensor. Crop mode works in 1080p just fine
@@chrisbrockhurst for the a7s3 you recommend the apsc Mode in 1080p? Or the clear image zoom in the 4k codec? Sorry for me this is a little bit complicated. Thanks Marco

Do you ever de-squeeze by compressing the vertical instead of stretching the horizontal? That’s the way I’ve been doing it. Means it drops into a standard 4k project and keeps those “cinematic” bars 😁
thats interesting, didnt think of that, ive only been doing it this way to preserve the anamorphic look when it uploads to CZcams. I do miss the bars though haha
I need to get a set of these. I know you can get the 24 and 35 in efs but can you get the 50 in that too?
Yeh man, you can have alot of fun for the price, I dont think the 50 comes in Canon flavour unfortunately, was their first one.

works even better to be honest because you can shoot in crop mode in 4k.
Am I the only person not digging the blue lens flare? I'd buy all three focal lengths but I can't have that amout of spontaneous lens flare in my videos.
Please Chris make a video showing how easy it is to not get the lens flare whenever a light source comes in to frame. 🙏🏼
It’s a look, you’ll only get it if the lens has a source of light going right into it. Really easy to avoid, I was actively picking shots that had light sources to achieve the blue flares.

Wrong! Clear image zoom is not the same at post zooming in 140% when u zoom in post you will lose quality. Learn your facts before you go on miss leading people.
