Some of these things explain how in the world some of the bitchiest people end up somehow being 4th place in these competitions every season... there's a little more to it than truly finding the best cook in America. Sadly, I have a feeling some people are kept longer - purely for the drama / shock factor and as a result, some of the better cooks are sent home earlier than they should be; thereby, not giving them a true chance to compete... because it's worth more to keep a drama creator more. To be honest, most people who love cooking and baking don't watch this show for the drama. Gordon and Joe bring that on their own. We would much rather see a truly fair competition rather than having to watch clear to the second to last episode every season, just to see certain people finally get themselves cut - only because everyone knows it wouldn't be right to let them actually land in the top 3 when they really deserved to be in the bottom 3 right out the gate.
