- The people of Petran, Turkey, have been snowboarding for roughly 300 years. It’s not snowboarding as we know it, but you’ll recognize it. In this film by WRKSHRT, we follow Alex Yoder and Nick Russell into Turkey’s Kaçkar Mountains on a quest to unearth the unlinked heritage of snowboarding and have some fun in the process.

Although I've got nothing but respect for what Travis and buddies do but for me these are the movies like this one that make snowboarding a Culture, they will never raise hype like The art of fly or 4th phase, but they are what I love snowboarding for.
this is about the old town and its old snowboard
Turkey looks amazing for snowboarding - Thanks for opening our minds to the possibilities
As long as you don't mind earning your descents with hard walking.
Honestly in a day and age where snowboarding videos are all so repetitive and nothing but brand endorsement. This video can easily be my new favorite. I cried watching the raw emotion you guys captured and exactly why snowboarding is my passion!!! 1440 are neat to watch and all but there is nothing like a good powder turn!!! Thank you SO much for creating this. I pray those little ones were so inspired by watching you guys jump off roofs they go to be the next Nicolas Muller!!
What a truly awesome experience! Perfect mix of snowboard film meets National Geographic documentary.
Hey 😁this is my city and this video very beautiful😀 i loved

Georgious.
I am so thankful I stumbled upon this just days after being published on youtube it is a gem of a find! The video and the culture cache tucked away in the foothills of turkey.
This makes me smile and that is perfect. Thanks +Nick Russell and +Alex Yoder!
Great film guys. If your interested in other off grid places, look up Toplita, Romania. There is a national park just to the north, Calaman, I think that's how it's spelt. No lifts, no fences just massive open hills. Lots of snow, still snow fields in the summer. I would love to board it.
Great documentary and story telling. Awesome work guys!
I love this video it's so chill and just really captures the magic of snowboarding to me. I need to build one of these and rip it this season!
Das ist super!
One of the most amazing videos on winter sports I've ever seen. Big thanks for this great documentary.
Great video! Thanks for the new knowledge on an old culture.
Proud to have a home there. 😎 Trekking in summer is also a must...!

Awesome!
Stories about 'origins' are just stories, but the snowboard experience is cool to whoever discovered joy in it //
AWESOME!!!

If you would ride this on the slopes in europe people would think your crazy. Great vid by the way love the storytelling.
Thank you for showing a glimpse of our culture
And with our culture I mean tea
Like 20 cups a day
When it is summer
Like 35 degrees
:D
Where are the soundtrack notes?? All the tracks are bomb.
So sick
Wow. Thanks. The joy of playing in the mountains is shown on a lot of faces. BTW is there a name for the trailer/rudder stick used on the Petran boards?
Yes can we have answers about the stick please
Harika iş... 💯 Great job
Thats cool, on the other hand its my country and made me smile:)
This is fucking amazing big up to patagonia!
Aralara peri bacalarını koymayaydınız eyiydi. Adamlar Rize'ye bir gelecek baca maca yok ortada :))
Fantastic, so cool to learn about the history! But whats the significance of the stick they hold behind when using the board?
Okay you convinced me! Lets go off the beaten path...lets go turkey!

Any jobs going at Patagonia? I'll do anything x
I second this. I surf and snowboard... This simple life style is what we need to step back toward.
I'd also want a job. Not any kind of job though, a CEO maybe? Just give me a call when something comes up. Thanks very much in advance.
My foots in the door first lads sorry x
Then work out how to get there, the trouble with today, too many looking for an easy in.
