    One of the best in depth, step by step explanations fulcrum, rebound, I’ve seen. We’ll done

    After being originally taught to use the traditional grip, I decided to switch to match grip. I've been searching for the best visuals and description, but I'll have to join the choir. This video has been the best visual description and instruction for rebound and fulcrum mechanics. I really appreciate coming across this video. Thank you!

      I hear you buddy. I am 70 and I'm going thru the same thing. I have been working on the double-stroke for over a year now and I'm stuck. I've been a drummer since the mid 60's but back then in my small town there was no such a thing as a drum teacher. You just learned how to keep a beat and copy records. I suck lol

    This is by far the best explanation of doubles that I have ever seen. It really does take the mystery out of it. You really are an excellent a teacher (but you don't need me to tell you that)!

    Thanks so much for really dissecting the technique and showing, in detail proper technique and stressing slow tempo and learning the basics. So many videos out there that give a crash coarse on grip and then whip into blazing doubles, like that's suppose to help the beginner understand what they are attempting to master. I now feel like I have a visual of what proper grip and form should look like at slow, manageable speed. thanks again for this video.

    I just stumbled on this video and it's one of the best instructions I've had yet as far a very clear explanation of the fulcrum and finger placement, etc. Thank you!!!!

    Hi Chris. Is there any advantage of using the middle rather than the index finger as the fulcrum? Thanks much. Tom

  • @thecavedrum

    Nice video, but I have a doubt, if you do the fulcrum with middle and thumb, you're letting away the index finger, so you're loosing an extra muscle off, no?

    • @BehindtheBeatwithChrisLangan
      @BehindtheBeatwithChrisLangan  Před 5 lety +1

      CAVE DRUMS just to get it going I recommend the middle finger. In the next few videos I’ll talk about bringing the pointer back into play. Especially once we crank the speed up, the pointer will play a huge role in it.
