With beginner kits, the cymbals that come with them are, for lack of a better word, crap. They’ll do the job good enough, but if the time comes to upgrade them, I’d definitely do it 100%. Now I’m not saying that you need to get brilliant-finished Zildjian A Customs, which are my favorite by the way, but you should get at least something that sounds great for a rather affordable price.

The song is not in 4/4 all the way through. Measure 30 is 2/4.

I don't think any of these are correct. I always start the fill with and a 1, and it lines up perfect. Right when the drums start, say it with the snare. And a 1. And a 2. And a 1, 2, a 1, 2, 3, 4.

Great tutorial, I’m 58 and bought an electronic kit, have been air drumming for years, never had a lesson and can kinda play along but not exactly, can’t get the second hi hat in, keeps throwing me off so I just dropped it, can do the first one no problem, even tried adopting your robotic arm movement to do the first hi hat crash, thanks man

hey so I’m 14 years old, I’m really into rock music and seriously wanna get into drumming. ive heard a lot of good things about Pearl, Ludwig and Yamaha, but I have no idea what to choose from. some kits have more drums or more symbols, and I have no clue what to look for. same thing with drumsticks, i know some things about them but not too much. i have skinny hands and long skinny fingers. but I honestly have no idea where to start, what to buy, where to get anything. but this video has definitely given me a little idea or where to go, thank you! and if you have any advice for me please let me know because I have no clue what to do😂

Bought an electric kit and I’ve learned a lot so far. But I’m getting an acoustic because I find ghost notes to be hard to pull off on the cymbals, hi hat and snare. Plus the sounds on my kit are cheeks

Can't get past 75 BPM with the 16th note shuffle on the hi hat. This song is at about 90 BPM. Great vid boss.

I've been playing the drums forever and I still can't do push/pull at 90bpm. I had ulnar nerve surgery in 1999 and when I recovered my grip strength was a little diminished. I see people with bigger deficits playing and I love the drums so, I still play. I can't help but be a little bummed about it, but "it is what it is."🤷 I'd like to believe it made my 4 way coordination better, but...Idk??? I can't do it with my left hand all that fast either, so maybe I just need to work on it. This was SUPER HELPFUL and really well done...Thnx. (Back to the woodshed)
