You should add little walls to some of the properties, especially that new one in the train track corner. That's what people IRL would do to separate their backyard
In my opinion, the tram line should end in a tram station-style building, a canopy and possibly a ticket office, as the current situation doesn't really look like a tram station
He should make sure there's a buffer stop as well. It could be European or American-styled, but there has to be one at the end of it for the line to feel right.
Maybe an idea for one of the new houses on the lower level, add a roof cafe that's accesible from the upper level! Cozy lights, benches, small bar, etc. Would look great inbetween the larger buildings methinks!
The extended harbour could (maybe) eventually transition into a beach. Due to the difference in elevation separating the general landscape from the current harbour, the beach could be accessed via a sandy hill or integrated steps. The change in elevation could also allow you to add features like headlands, arches, stacks, caves or even wave cut platforms. Contrastingly, a longshore beach could allow you to build a bar, a lifeguard tower and other recreational structures.
I think for the fountain, the scattered 1 by 2 tiles looked really good. I'd say add some to it, with the current placed tiles below. That way the cool effect of scattered tiles is there and we also can't see the floor below.
I like the gold bricks: they are simple, and their simplicity among all the wild detail makes them stand out. The bricks remind the viewer "yes, this is actually all LEGO!"
If you're looking for more ideas for buildings to fill out space in the city, maybe you could do a building under construction or renovation? That would also bring up some storytelling opportunities. Plus, is it really a LEGO city without a bright yellow piece of construction equipment? ;) Love this series and the dedication that goes into it!
He had a building like this in the city before he changed the layout of the upper platform, but because of the needed change he had to remove it. Not sure if he’ll ever add it back but I hope so as I fully agree with your idea, it looked great in the city!
You should end the harbour and build a beach area! Think that would look sick. Maybe you can use the height difference as well to build a beach villa at the bottom end Maybe some newer style houses at the bottom to change it up, youll figure it out
Good update. For the tram I personally like a classic style railroad bumper at the end. Also thought the fountain looked really good with the loose translucent bricks dumped in
To connect the western area, you could add a few small details and make it an amusement park! A western themed educational park where people can go and ride horses, hang out in a saloon and go for carriage rides and watch a train heist! I think it would be really cool! You could do a small transition area where there is a parking area, minis in normal clothes wearing cowboy hats… etc. make it feel like a tourist attraction. You wouldn’t have to ruin any of your incredible work, just add a few minor details to explain why the Wild West is connected to a modern town. That’s just my idea though… feel free to take it or ignore it.
The rig on top of the tram would normally interface with overhead wires, so maybe a small enclosure at the end of the tram platform, and then some overhead wires from that which follow the track.
If you want to change up the solid grey tiles on the tram line while keeping it flat, maybe try changing some of the 1x2 tiles to 1x1 round/quarter round tiles. I'd recommend keeping them dark bluish grey, but the small holes will add some detail and the shadows will give it a slight colour variation. While on that topic, there are a few spots with mostly/entirely one colour (the walls around the second level, the tile path next to the tram), maybe try this technique here as well? Small details that show age like cracked walls, different colour stones used to replaced broken ones on the path, maybe even some litter to add some colour. Also, is there a website for your Lego museum? I would love to visit one day.
I liked the scattered blue tiles! It looked like moving water, or at least gave it some volume. It would be cool to see you shape the fountain a bit (add some foam/bubbles?). Also I'd love for it to end with a beach -- as someone who crew up by the shore, it would be so cool to see your take on a boardwalk. These are all just suggestions though. I absolutely love your work. It's so creative and cool to see the updates!
Awsome. Just don't forget the overhead wires for the tram. And also maybe detail the station more like with a roof above the platform and maybe a display for the schedule. And also the golden bricks are really nice
Wow, this is not just some Lego city you are building like other AFOL's out there, but you create art. They level of detail you pour into this is on a whole other level. Simply magnificent and beautiful sir.
I like the idea of having the Tram line integrated into the middle of a boulevard or something similar, to make it feel connected with the rest of the city!
_For a start;_ I really like the gold bricks in the fountain, simple yet effective and they stand out from the rest of the city. I'd just love for you to add some loose, scattered light blue see through pieces over the ones you put down there, like a mix of what you did in the beginning and your solution at the end. I think it would bring some _"movement"_ to the fountain :) _Secondly;_ This *really* looks like many European cities, the _"classic",_ older parts of them. I'm Swedish (though I live in Oslo, Norway, and used to live in København/Copenhagen, Denmark and before that I lived in Berlin for a while) and to be honest - I think this looks a *lot* like some areas of København/Copenhagen, and Oslo, and the city where I grew up in Sweden, Växjö. It also looks like Prague and Amsterdam and towns around the Alps that I have visited for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer, and even (back to Sweden) -> Stockholm and Göteborg.... I could keep going, but I guess you get my point. It's remarkable! I love it! *Keep up the amazing work, you are a true artist!*
Don’t forget to add those cables that are above tram lines, what else could those black things be for you know, I also fee like that red roofed house is a bit too rural? it makes the transition look a little bit off in my opinion and i think something more urban would fit better there and that house would fit more in the countryside :)
Great video! For the tram line I'd reccomend going in a straight line instead of at an angle towards the houses (make the turn 90 degrees). You could make a main promenade / "main street" with the tram, central road, green foliage+ setbacks, and sidewalks in front of the townhouses and central street. You could then open up wider sidewalks for dining areas, retail stores with operable facades, etc. This would really sell the idea of a central city! Hope this helps 😊
San Francisco's trolley lines have railway turntables at the end of them. I'm not suggesting anything functional, of course, but a simple static turntable would make sense.
The golden bricks remind me of my childhood with the lego games. It's a warm fuzzy feelings. If there is a statue, I'd like it to either be a bit on the side, or with the gold incorporated. Please and thank you.
One thing I always like to see in buildings and structures is when two buildings have a road or pathway between them, and they're connected by a bridge that goes over that pathway. Not sure where something like that could really work in your city, maybe with the houses along the tramline? Would be neat to see though.
A tram stop doesn't need a covered shed, just a small passenger waiting shelter maybe. I still think you should build an angled road climbing between the upper and lower levels, and have the tram climb up that road to the road on the upper level. the tram then serves a purpose. The houses you want to build can be built stepped up the road. The only problem will be the angle the tram can climb (trams often climb relatively steep roads), so how far back the road would need to go. And it will also require Lego to build a level to angled track transition.
You could consider adding grass/green plates in between the tram tracks, lots of places use grass to add green space to tram lines. It would be nice to add a splash of color in the center of the concrete area.
If once you will connect the city with the Wild West moc, maybe you could build a movie studio front of the Wild West moc for smoother transition which would make total sense.
I think you should add the loose bricks back into the fountain now you’ve covered the floor with them so you won’t see the bottom - it looked really good. ^_^
I’ve been binge watching all of your city updates in two days and I am totally hooked. Mesmerising stuff, exquisite eye for detail in the buildings and the attention to life-likeness in terms of scale and perspective is just something else. Of course I subscribed immediately. I don’t know whether you’ve already decided what to do with the large open green area in the back, but I think it would be wonderful to make a greenhouse and/or agricultural scene there. This might boost your city’s economic production without disturbing the pastoral atmosphere too much with for example heavy industrial zones.
Ive always loved canals in cities. What if you had a canal running from the upper area down along the tramline and feeding the fountain? You could even do a waterfall off the upper area.
I think for the tram line itself, you should have a tram house/station. Somewhere that the tram can be stationed at over night, while the building or part of it, also housing a ticket booth and seating area. The downtown plaza area already looks amazing with your underground entrances and everything else going on. Maybe the tram house could be an upper floor to a train housing right underneath it, with access for engineers and mechanics to check on all locomotives while not running? That may be cool, even if very very very ludicrous
I like the gold bricks as a sort of abstract statue of its own. But! I also recommend dumping some extra 1x2 clear bricks into the fountain space to give the impression of uneven, frothy water. Basically the same way it was before you undid the tiling, but with the blue tiles underneath as well. Best of both worlds!
I have 2 suggestions of ways to end the tram line: the first one is to just end it with a buffer, which is the most common option for ending tram lines, or decorate the end point like it is some kind of turn table like the ones used at the ends of the san Fransisco cable car lines.
I would add a gap in the flowerpots against the tram track as it would be good to have a place people could get out of the way of the tram if they find themselves on the tracks. And it would be cool if you could build a realistic buffer at the end of the tacks.
I agree with many people. It would be nice to have a tram station at the very end with a small ticket booth and minifigs climbing aboard or waiting on a platform. It would be a very nice addition to the city
I love the new house walls, although I must say that the roof looks a little weird, not the new plate technique, but the way that the front facade isn't connected. It's a normal roof that suddenly ends in a triangular shaped wall. It might just be me, but it looks a little off.
i was going to say the same thing, it definitely doesn't look right. i don't like that the roof is also lower than the walls, i just imagine massive puddles forming and leaking through from the rain. it also just looks very odd, lol
Gable walls rising above the roof tiles is a real thing but I agree that it looks weird here, I'd suggest removing the facades and building the roof out a little larger so the tiles cover the wall. Gable ends might need to be taller to achieve a decent roof pitch.
In my opinion, I know it's a lot of work but I would build a circle for train going through the city. It should look amazing to see tram going between all the buildings and cross the streets because in our country are tram tracks normaly covered in road and trams are going trough town. Another thing it'll be amazing to build some type of wiring above the tram. Your work is amazing and your creativity reach unlimited possibilities. Thanks for making content like that!!
Because there is already a ticket building at this end of the tram line, I would suggest just leaving it blank. I know it sounds boring but that is how some tram lines end. I think a full station building would look clunky, and the fence seems a bit out of place. If you want something like a fence i would add a bumper block (A concrete block) instead of the fence, in a similar design to the first flower pot..without the flowers. On a side note, I'm absolutely addicted to this build, keep up the great work.
I love your videos man, keep up the work. About the tram line, you can build a buffer stop on the end surrounded by barriers, in order to prevent minifigures from getting hurt, and I was thinking about a little yellow line on the side of the tracks, like ones that you can find on the tram stops. Also, you can try to build a big water Tower on the outskirts of the city. Like from gravity falls. It will look cool in my oppinion.
100% agree with the buffer block and the yellow line, but I think a water tower wouldn't quite fit the western European style the city has, as they're not quite as common here in the form you mentioned. Though a water tower in the old brickwork European style, or even like the post-war smooth concrete "pillars" they have as water towers in parts of France would be a really neat addition to the city. I also think the tramline still needs overhead wires, so a little electrical junction box should be at the end of the line as well, connecting to those.
Just found your channel and I’m hooked! Wow your MOCs are over the top 🎉 great looking city and I love your Western builds! Such a great looking Wild West! Just subbed!
To get from the upper to the lower level near the tram rails, I'd sugest 1 small alley between 2 buildings with a staircase. Maybe just 6 or 8 studs wide at most. It will be just that tiny bit more believable than everybody using a building. It will probably be a very steep staircase (maybe 4 plates per step rather than the usual 3) or peeking out a bit from the line of houses, but I think it would fit fine.
Personally, I think the gold bricks in the fountain look really nice and fancy, but a statue could also look really cool. Maybe if there are enough minifigure parts for it, you could do a gold statue there to get the best of both ideas?
Maybe some benches, a ticket machine and a waiting shelter for the tram station but anything more would most likely look strange. Keep the golden bricks they make a nice variation to the square with the fountain.
It might be cool for the staircase near the lower buildings that leads to the upper platform to extend outwards, so people wouldnt have to go through your house to get uptop! Found your channel recently, great work!
In the fountain, you should add the loose 1x2 transparent pieces on top of the settled ones to create a bit more depth to the water. Great job! Keep at it!
I absolutely love your video's, it is the best looking lego city I have seen on CZcams, and you make it look so easy. Great job and I am already looking forward to the next video
I really like the Golden Bricks too because it reminds me of the Town Plan set I had as a kid. It included a small fountain with a three gold brick stack in the middle so I'm a big fan
I think I should just say that you are extremely talented, artistic and creative! I don't think I've ever seen someone use lego bricks to add so much detail and create such realistic and beautiful settings. Really really impressive and I always look forward to your videos.
For the train station end of the line, I think you should have a small dedicated boarding area with a just a roof over a couple benches along with a somewhat built up bumper actually on the track
I like the golden bricks for the middle of the fountain. Also, the end of the tram line would be a little crowded with a full canopy or cover. Maybe a raised wooden platform on either end for the people to step on and off of the tram? That way you could maintain the open feeling of that area. Just spitballing though
Great progress! Love to see these videos and I hope one day I can visit! In the lower part, instead of extending the harbor, why don't you do a beach like water shore with sand. It would be something different instead of extending the harbor. It doesn't need to be a summer like beach, because I believe it doesn't suit the style of your city. But there are beaches in cold places too. It would allow you to play with some rocks sticking out of the water and some irregular lines, more interesting that a straight harbor. Just an idea :)
My eyes lit up seeing those gold bricks. Growing up, I played Traveler's Tales's LEGO games, and the big more expensive things and/or were hard to find. The Gold bricks could do different things in the different LEGO games. So seeing those as a monument is actually cool for a LEGO city.
The tram at least needs propper stopblock that realistically could hinder the tram from going off the tracks at its end. In cities this usually is some sort of small cement or brick wall with bumpers on the side of the tram.
I love the fountain design. Very modular and adjustable and it looks great. I also love the tram. I think it should have a little wooden platform that comes out in front of the tracks in an "L" shape with a buffer for the tram so it doesn't hit the platform.
Mayby you could build the houses on a slope. Where I live streets are very steep sometimes. On some occasions only accessible by foot. Pain in the ass to move houses. But its a real situation.
first time im commenting about the city, but here we go. i think a good way to mark the tram stop, would be to have simply a sign. a sign that the tram driver would see and know where to stop. add a small patch of greenery behing the sign, like a 4x6 plate. for the station itself, slightly raised, but not too much. don't cover the tram itself. only cover the platforms if you are going for modern looking stations. if you go for older looking stations, you should cover the whole tram as well, similar to 1900's british rail stations, and keep the platform slightly higher.
Some form of buffer stop would be good at the end of the tram line, regardless of whether you make a proper station building or not. It's a standard way of ending a rail to prevent any risk of derailing.
Maybe you could cut the angle of the wooden plate so the harbor angle isn’t 90°. You could have a rock work or even a small beach in that corner, and maybe it would help this part of the landscape look not too squary
I think a fenced garden in the bend of the tram track would be cool, especially if you are adding another building next to the one you placed this time, further diminishing the green space in that area
For the extended harbour, how about some kind of theme park pier? I'm not sure if they're quite so global as I think, but here in the north west of the UK we have tons in places like Blackpool or Southport. Could be a cool way to integrate some lesser used pieces as part of the amusement park attractions and two coaster builds? Mind you, a custom roller coaster would be an excellent setpiece, though it may be a ton of work to do!
He may not be pregnant but never fails to deliver
what
xd
I-
What😳
Finally
I like the golden bricks. It's like someone donated a modern art piece to the village and they stuck it there and the villagers find it polarizing
Agree! A little something more would be good
Yeah I appreciate the modern art look. Statues are expected and so they are boring. It's too predictable.
I agree, and inside of the fountain is like the best of both worlds- water feature AND a statue!
The pop of gold looks really cool.
Got to have a little political controversy to spice up the city's storyline!
Agreed, If anything there should be a more ornate fountain somewhere and that one has a statue.
You should add little walls to some of the properties, especially that new one in the train track corner. That's what people IRL would do to separate their backyard
Germans have a little bit of a bad history with walls :)
Maybe a fence :)
In my opinion, the tram line should end in a tram station-style building, a canopy and possibly a ticket office, as the current situation doesn't really look like a tram station
I second this! It would be very nice to see this.
I feel like in most cities I’ve been to with trams they didn’t have a ‘station’ you just hop on and off wherever you need to
He should make sure there's a buffer stop as well. It could be European or American-styled, but there has to be one at the end of it for the line to feel right.
A small station even without roof would be neat.
I agree @Bernoe
Maybe an idea for one of the new houses on the lower level, add a roof cafe that's accesible from the upper level! Cozy lights, benches, small bar, etc. Would look great inbetween the larger buildings methinks!
I love this idea!!
Yes, this would look great! With a few tables outside especially
Beach is Amazing idea
I think for the fountain, the scattered 1 by 2 tiles looked really good. I'd say add some to it, with the current placed tiles below. That way the cool effect of scattered tiles is there and we also can't see the floor below.
I came here to say the same thing! The loose water tiles looked so good in the fountain. I think he should add them back 😊
I agree, even just a few in there really helps create the visual effect of moving water!
I like the gold bricks: they are simple, and their simplicity among all the wild detail makes them stand out. The bricks remind the viewer "yes, this is actually all LEGO!"

You could switch out a few 1x2 plates between the rails for quarter circles, so you still get some variation in the floor without studs stucking up.
You should end the harbour and build a beach area! Think that would look sick. Maybe you can use the height difference as well to build a beach villa at the bottom end
Maybe some newer style houses at the bottom to change it up, youll figure it out
Good update. For the tram I personally like a classic style railroad bumper at the end. Also thought the fountain looked really good with the loose translucent bricks dumped in

i love the 3 gold bricks in the fountain. simple, classy, and elegant without being gaudy
I love watching these updates! Something creative to entertain me while I revise for exams :)
Our family went to Legoland in Kansas City, USA last week. We all agreed that your city is FAR superior to what we saw at Legoland.
Awsome. Just don't forget the overhead wires for the tram. And also maybe detail the station more like with a roof above the platform and maybe a display for the schedule. And also the golden bricks are really nice
4:40
Maybe just yellow (or white) safety lines along the tracks and bench bench to wait for the tram ?
Wow, this is not just some Lego city you are building like other AFOL's out there, but you create art. They level of detail you pour into this is on a whole other level. Simply magnificent and beautiful sir.

I think the tramline looks fine. I would think that people clean the track so the tram can go across smoothly. Looks Great!
Some modern bus stop/tram stop covered seats with ads and an old wood train buffer stop would be cool I think.
That gold brick fountain was really fun!
Don’t forget to add those cables that are above tram lines, what else could those black things be for you know, I also fee like that red roofed house is a bit too rural? it makes the transition look a little bit off in my opinion and i think something more urban would fit better there and that house would fit more in the countryside :)

2:21 - 2:26 - based on his calluses, this man is either a professional safe cracker or a hardcore Lego builder.

Greentrack the tram!

Your progression and building style never ceases to amaze me. Your city just keeps getting more detailed and more beautiful
Babe wake up, new Lego city update is here
I think you should add the loose bricks back into the fountain now you’ve covered the floor with them so you won’t see the bottom - it looked really good. ^_^
I’ve been binge watching all of your city updates in two days and I am totally hooked. You should make some more plain gardens, because right now it looks like there is way too much vegetation, it's too leafy. The rest is amazing though
Ive always loved canals in cities. What if you had a canal running from the upper area down along the tramline and feeding the fountain? You could even do a waterfall off the upper area.

I've been waiting for the tram line!! So glad you are finally adding It, It looks incredible just like the rest of your city. Keep up the good work!!

You can have the harbor wrap around and connect the Lego city to the wild west as well allowing for a larger amount of creativity with the water

Connect the wild west and the city with something like a portal.
At the end of the tram line, build something between a fence and a station.
I agree with many people. It would be nice to have a tram station at the very end with a small ticket booth and minifigs climbing aboard or waiting on a platform. It would be a very nice addition to the city

As always, your builds are amazing and I ALWAYS look forward to your videos 😊
This is awesome, I’ve been quietly enjoying the updates :)
Keep up the great work!!
Very clever use on your roof build.
To put studs under the tram you should lower the individual 1 by 2 plate, by 1 plate. Idk how It will look but It's worth a shot.
I really like the gold square bricks, I had that throwback town square set that used that motif, and seeing it here makes me happy
Really good. Always look forward to your videos and there are heaps of tips and hints to inspire me. Keep it up! 😊
Lots of amazing progress! Keep up the great work 👍🏻
these updates are so amazing honestly, please please keep them up!!
Awesome city! Seeing all the greenery brings me immense joy! 🌳
i truly love this series because it is super awesome to see all the progress! Also, i get inspired when i watch the series so keep it up!
Where the tram line turns away from the station you should build a little hill leading up to a lighthouse.
Here's a suggestion I think would be cool. A team of road workers fixing potholes in the streets or something along those lines.
I think the end should be some old wooden buffers and then have a shed farther down the line using a switch 4:42
I think I should just say that you are extremely talented, artistic and creative! I don't think I've ever seen someone use lego bricks to add so much detail and create such realistic and beautiful settings. Really really impressive and I always look forward to your videos.
Thrilled to hear you are planning on continuing to expand the city for years to come!
Always a pleasure seeimg an update :)
The tram at least needs propper stopblock that realistically could hinder the tram from going off the tracks at its end. In cities this usually is some sort of small cement or brick wall with bumpers on the side of the tram.
Always happy to see an update!
Incredible project man! Keep it up :D
As a train nerd, I think a canopy station would look good and making the area in between the rails be an olive green instead of the green it is now.
I think a fenced garden in the bend of the tram track would be cool, especially if you are adding another building next to the one you placed this time, further diminishing the green space in that area
I been waiting for the tram line. Excellent job.
Hello, maybe build a Bunker in the Mountains, or below the City ?
I love the plateaus in the Wild West area! Keep up the good work with your city
