Idea for the rock face into the harbor: Instead of a lighthouse, you can make a precarious stairway down to a hidden dock that the counterfeiting criminal syndicate in your city uses to smuggle out their counterfeit bills. It could be a little cave alcove dock. Maybe a grate to access the storm sewer system about halfway up the rock face, and then a path down from there to the cave
Addendum: I should note that I'm not against the lighthouse! I just believe it would be better used somewhere else when you have more space. I feel that having a relatively "empty" area might be a good addition to that area, but also giving you a place to tell a story for those who look more closely. Plus, I think that once you have a lot of ships in the harbor with relatively high profiles, having a lighthouse would seem to be too much in that area, basically creating a wall of tall objects that obstruct the rest of the city.
It was said on the last video, but I think a tunnel/drain in the rock face flowing into the harbor would look cool and could provide some interesting details.
Another idea for the harbor: what about a crane to maybe offload cargo from the ships? Even fishing harbors have cranes to lift caught fish/crabs/shrimp out from the live-wells in the hull? That may have to wait until the city moves because it may take up too much space. Also what about a swim beach instead of a second harbor down on the far right?
Would you be able to add the lighthouse on a very small extra table like a meter away from the harbor? Just like an single island in the room with the Lighthouse. You could build it very extraordinary without blocking sight to the city itself and people walking by would spend some extra attention to your lonely lighthouse and they would feel more being inside of the world. :)
A lighthouse and a sandy beach would be a wonderful addition, I often go to these kinds of places to go birdwatching and I think some birds/birdwatchers would be a really fun detail :) and bonus points if you could make birding scopes on tripods looking out into the harbour, these are how we often look for rare ducks and gulls.
I think the fence looks fine. Have you thought about making the harbor in wood planks instead of concrete? That would give you a lot more contrast and color that you desire.
Having the dock lead into a small staircase & handrail that goes up the extruded rocks to a lighthouse may look really nice! Perhaps it could even be a lighthouse thats a little dilapidated and overgrown, in the mist of going though renovations? that may help blend the old with the new, I dunno! Amazing stuff regardless!
A small detail that the harbour is missing: some steps/ladders leading into/out of the water every now and then for safety measures, so that whenever someone falls into the water, they are able to get onto the dock. You may want to add some lifebuoys as well for the same reason
These vertical gaps in the harbour wall is actuelly very realistic. Brick walls of any length can't usually be built as one solid piece, expansian gaps are needed in order to prevent the wall cracking due to temperature differences. I wouldn't change a thing. About the layout, docking equipment and lighthouses, please consult someone who is familiar with these things. E.g., chains are NEVER used as docklines! Even the biggest ships use ropes, nowadays made of high-tech fibres, but still. Chains are only used for anchoring.
This is the earliest I've been to one of your videos! Though technically I've already seen it because I watched the one in German. Unfortunately I don't speak German so I didn't know what you're saying, but I still enjoyed watching you built it 😄
on another note, if you were to subtly thicken up the lower half of the logs sticking out of the water you would be able to capture how grimy they tend to get throughout the year, using the same dark green you mixed into the brickwork of the harbor itself would be ideal imo.
When your museum is up and running, i think itd be a cool idea to add a plaque that stretches along the border with little descriptions about each part of the city, like how a zoo has information plates for the animals. Maybe even a place that plays some of your videos on loop so people can see behind the scenes
At the edge of the water you could maybe have a sort of half boat where the city ends that you can see inside, sort of like a cross section where the world cuts in half
Omg. I love it! The logs made a huge jump in realism. The rock face is very well done and natural looking. I agree that fence isn't totally appropriate. I have no doubt you will come up with something great. I think a small fishing shack would be great beside the rock face. Something that people climb over the rocks to get to.
really nice progress. You shouldn't do a lighthouse in my opinion. Maybe make a rock and a nice little beach on the other side of the rock. Also you might need to think about that the rock might be an ideal starting point for a pier that protects the harbor. You'll have to add one or two more rows of modules but it would be perfect. The tip of the pier might be a good spot for the lighthouse. It will be further away from the city.
I'm so amazed everytime i see one of these updates, the techniques used here are so amazing and make them look so realistic and natural! great job and keep it up!
The lighthouse is a good idea, but I also come up with an idea of a water cave, going under the rocks. One more idea is that, you can create one big rock coming out of the water, like a big spike (like on tenerife for example) maybe it would be connected with a main rock formation creating a small canal between the rock and the land
Yes, a lighthouse is a great idea, especially if you could make it taper upwards. Regardless of what you do, I'll enjoy seeing the results. Keep up the good work!
It's crazy how fast the channel is growing! Feels like it was yesterday when I subscribed when you hade under 1k subs and after that it just exponentialy grew. Have watched every video and will continue to do so which honestly shows that you are doing an amazing job! Keep up the good work!
Great looking city. One of the best I’ve seen online. I think the idea of a lighthouse, or incorporating the official LEGO lighthouse, is a great idea. And if you incorporate a detailed pathway to it for the lighthouse keeper and tourists it would add a really nice element to the harbour. 👍👍
Wow this is amazing!! I love the "fate" of the harbor into the hillside! It is suddle yet it has very nice contrast you did a very great job on this!! What may be cool would be like a barge or tugboat in the harbor to make it look more busy!
I just discovered your channel by accident yesterday, I had no idea how much I was interested in Lego, you’ve done a truly fantastic job and I very much look forward to watching in the future.
Great update, I always look forward to these! As for the harbor, my understanding (from my commercial fishing experience in Alaska) is that boats don't typically drop anchor while docked. Rather, they tie off by throwing a line around the vertical log (I forget what it's called) and using the cleat built onto the boat. That way, the boat can float up and down with the tide as needed, and the anchor doesn't get tangled up with other stuff in the harbor.
The harbor is coming along nicely. Can’t wait to see the display in the museum and the extensions that are sure to follow, although I don’t envy you for the task of moving the layout.
It looks really nice, linking that section to the rock face, the idea for a lighthouse is fantastic I would recommend maybe putting the lighthouse on a rocky island as some lighthouses are built in England and Iceland if it at first seems too close to the city, but that is all dependant on space of course. Wonderful job with the harbour though so much work done is impressive :)

Lame
@@MikehMike01 you got a better idea?
It was said on the last video, but I think a tunnel/drain in the rock face flowing into the harbor would look cool and could provide some interesting details.
Yes! Kind of like off the edge of NYC or any other big city on Thursday water
Another idea for the harbor: what about a crane to maybe offload cargo from the ships? Even fishing harbors have cranes to lift caught fish/crabs/shrimp out from the live-wells in the hull? That may have to wait until the city moves because it may take up too much space.

A beach sounds very interesting! :)
Both sound like great ideas!
I like the crane idea; an industrial gantry crane would look good for an industrially zoned port region

You could build it very extraordinary without blocking sight to the city itself and people walking by would spend some extra attention to your lonely lighthouse and they would feel more being inside of the world. :)
This!
i mean he is going to put this creation in a museum which has a large space so what about a whole entire sea with its lighthouse and ships?
Amazing building

Love the idea of a lighthouse!
These speed builds are so satisfying, cuz you just see the building expand piece by piece. 0 regrets of subscribing! Keep it up!!
I love the speed builds
Woohoo! I’ve waited for the day you would finish the harbor
the view of the city at 7:38 is breathtaking
I also love the view. Imagine living in a place just like this one.
A lighthouse would be great!
I would love to see a lighthouse build!
Your city is a masterpiece
The speedbuilds/Timelapse’s are so satisfying
You could make a shopping centre and/or a fancy restaurant, I think it would be cool ;)
I wish I could see the museum in the future but I live far away
Yay we finally get to see the amazing harbour finished this is what we've all been waiting for!
This harbour makes me think of my school trip to Paris. Where me and my 2 friends would sit at one spot at the Seine river in Paris.
Nice harbor and you could put a mixture of modern and pre modern ships in it
Oh I absolutely love your entire city
I think the fence looks fine. Have you thought about making the harbor in wood planks instead of concrete? That would give you a lot more contrast and color that you desire.
You should Focus on moving all out and you add more stuff, im looking out for moving out😁
we have to fix a few more things in the other location before moving ;-)
@@Brick_Crafts keep on working, i love all of your ideas. Im subbed since you had 24k

I think the lighthouse would be too close. It might blind the pedestrians 😂
It would only shine in the direction of the sea :D
You could use the fresnel lense piece from the new big lego lighthouse
@@Brick_Crafts you are awesome

🎉 amazing as always!
Very well done! enjoyed the progress immensely!
im subscribed to 100+ channels at this point, and this is one im really exiting for when they upload, keep up the good work bro ❤ love it
In the unfinished part of the harbor, where the idea for a lighthouse was, maybe think about adding a water cave
Love your videos your builds are amazing

Love the harbor! Have you ever thought of experimenting with transparent blue sloped tiles to make a sort of wave-like effect for the water?
on another note, if you were to subtly thicken up the lower half of the logs sticking out of the water you would be able to capture how grimy they tend to get throughout the year, using the same dark green you mixed into the brickwork of the harbor itself would be ideal imo.
