  • Slashed and tattered paper in the style of chenille which is usually made with fabric. This is a fabulous technique which is great for a distressed look in your mixed media art projects, art journalling, and paper crafts.

Beautiful! I just bought a book in a charity shop about doing this with fabrics but never thought about doing it with papers - looks really good - clever idea!

Thanks! Yes I first learnt to do it with fabric but thought I’d try it with paper to see whether it worked and really liked the result 😃

Thanks for this demonstration Rose. I’ve also done this with fabric which I love. It’s a great idea using it with paper. And thanks for the tip with the machine needle

Thanks Deborah! Glad you found the machine needle tip helpful. I was ending up throwing the old needles away because otherwise I couldn’t remember whether they were blunt or not! Hopefully this will help me keep on top of which is which 🤞😆

Thanks! I am really pleased with the result too, must try it with different colour-ways! And will have to see what happens when you cut into it as well

I’m gonna try spraying water on some too… we’ll see how that helps the distressing part 🥳
