  • Learn the progression of the wrist shot in hockey, starting from the basics and gradually adding speed, passes, and technical skills.
🏒 Begin with proper technique for young players, focusing on hand positioning, weight transfer, and driving the shoulders to the net.
🏒 Teach young players to push with their bottom hand to add power to their shots, even if they can't generate much flex on their stick.
🏒 Emphasize keeping the puck close to the body, avoiding extreme positions behind or in front of the body.
🏒 Progress to adding speed by having players skate into the shot, ensuring they drive forward rather than pulling the puck up.
🏒 Introduce receiving passes, both across the body and from in front, while maintaining good target, puck cradling, and leg loading.
🏒 Work on low-to-high shots, accepting passes, and using the backhand effectively.
🏒 Emphasize the importance of technique, simplicity, and gradual progression in improving a player's shot in hockey.

I have watched several of your videos and I must say that the attention you give to some of the finer details is tremendous. I am a coach of 8U players and see a lot of the shovel shot for height and players pulling from extremely far back. Your videos are extremely helpful and I send them along to the players so they can watch them to reinforce what I talk about on the ice.
