  • Hey everyone, welcome to the NSDA! I'm Dwayne Blais, NHL Skills Coach for the Detroit Red Wings, and today we're diving into some cool, simple tools to improve your shot, making it even better. Whether it's a skills coach, your parent, or anyone else helping you shoot the puck harder, especially wrist shots and snapshots, the key is keeping that puck close to your body.

How fast puck can fly after snap shot or wrist shot? What my target must be? 70-80 mph?

    • @nsdahockey

A snap shot is the quickest released shot when carrying the puck and can get up to 70-90MPH, this would be from elite/powerful shooters. The wrist shot would have a little more drag on it as you would be sweeping the ice before release, the wrist shot can still get up to 70-80MPH. The best way to improve your shot power is to focus on your shooting technique and use the technology of the hockey stick to help release the puck with more speed. I hope this helps.
