Hi there! I have a request for advise: I am looking for a way to use this loopstation as a freeze-pedal. I have not found a solution yet: might there be a technique to use one of the built-in effects as a freeze-pedal or will it be necessary to buy a freeze pedal? Thanks so much!

Question: can you truncate loops with this? I.e. go from 4/4 to 2/4 to 1/4 time sig on the fly?

Thanks for a great lesson. I have read so many reviews about bad sound quality from RC-505. Would you recommend RC-300 over 505? I do realize that one is a tabletop device and the other is not.

I love what she is doing! This may be a very basic question but I can't seem to get rid of my voice while using the effects. It always comes out together when I only want the effected voice to come out.. Can any one give me some advice?
You may have dubed over on a track. You have to make sure to put singular voices or singing in its own track then you can play and start on command

Does anyone know how to turn off the metronome sound on the Boss 505?
How do you get the vocals to record the loop without having the background sounds getting recorded and repeating along with the vocal loop? Trying to use this in a live setting and the vocal loop picks up the background music on the channel which ends up making anying sound muddled and unusable. Great in a quiet room, but how is that useful in a live setting?
You have to lower the volume or find a mic that doesn't pick up noise.
Is it possible to connect the RC-505 straight to your computer and NOT use a stereo? I'm assuming this would improve recording sound quality.
Yes, USB connection for audio output as well as MIDI to integrate in your DAW.

Thanks for the question. These are two different products. The RC300 is mostly for guitar and is a foot pedal format. The RC505 is a tabletop unit with multiple channels mostly for vocals.

I've bought a Rc505 and after reading carefully the manual included I didn't find solution to one important question: How to configurate the looper for making an automatic recording?? I mean, for the looper starts recording after some instrument or mic input start to sound, not after pressing the "Rec/overdub/play"-button. I had the Rc30 before, and you could press for 2 seconds the rhythm buttom and you got access to this recording mode, but I don't know how to do it in the RC505. Could you please help me?? Thanks a lot and excuse my poor use of english language. ;)
We didn't find anything in the manual either and as far as we can tell there is no auto-start mode on the RD-505.

Is it possible to Overdub a loop using the Track FX (not including beat repeat, beat shift, beat scatter, and vinyl flick because you can use them to Overdub)
MusicdudeBBX All of the other FX, aside from the Track only FX Beat Repeat, Beat Shift, Beat Scatter and Vinyl Flick, can be used as input FX or track FX. Just make sure the setting reads IFxA: Type and not TFxA: Type.

if you want a really really clean sound then use a contact mic, if not just try to find the right distance and volume from the sound with a normal mic that sounds good
It seems difficult to start off running if you have to press the button. Why no count in or "auto detect"? Does anyone have a work around

Thanks for the question. A microphone can be plugged directly into the XLR input on the 505, no additional hardware is needed.

The RC-505 takes standard, professional inputs such as microphone on XLR and keyboards with ¼” TS. There is no built in speaker in the unit so you will have to connect it with headphones (1/4” Stereo) or the ¼” TRS line outputs. I wonder how do you get your instrument loops in time, when you always have to move from playing position to the button to finish that loop, there is always a moment of silence in the end of the loop because of that.
Its literally in the timing. I always either record a blank loop first to overdub onto so I have time to play my guitar. Or play for one measure before hitting the button so you get in time first. It's not easy but this is a lot easier than a single switch looper.

RC 505 SETTING MEASURES OF DIFFERENT LENGTH GOING CRAZY!!!!!
HI there I don't know if this is the right place but I thought someone who knows might see my comment. I am going ABSOLUTELY NUTS because when I try to set loops of different lengths the looper just picks some random number of measures when I actually start recording. I never had this issue with the RC 300. I have wasted SO MUCH TIME !!!. And yes loop sync is on as per the "manual" . the first loop is long it is 124 measures but the second loop is supposed to be 12 measures. It was working this morning just perfectly but I have had this problem before and now it is back! and I don't know why. So this morning I was setting the second track to 2 and then 4 measures but I decided this afternoon that I wanted tit to be 12 instead. So I erased what I had and set the measure count to 12. But when I start recording it just goes to 31!!!! I don't know why. PLEASE can anyone help me with this stupid problem? I bought the unit months ago and I just can't use it. I have to be able to have meaasures of different lengths and I have to be able to do it easily. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I' d appreciate any assistance I could get. Thank you!
Any idea on how to sync this (slaved) to the MPC as master. I just want to press play on the mpc and have the looper playing too. It seems impossible.
Hi Gareth, sorry for the delay in the response. You can find this in you owners Manual on Page 29. It will probably be easiest for you read it that as I'm not sure how to best sum it up. MIDI Sync needs to be on auto, Track specific settings for MIDI Start and stop.

No, the sound you hearing in this video is prerecored on a device with an output.

In order from right to left on the back of the unit: microphone, left output, right output and then power.

You should be able to loop a beat playing in Ableton or any other DAW if that's what you're asking.

I have a huge problem with this looper when the different loops have different lenghts.
I need the second and all following loopers to start at their own beginning, everytime I press them. Instead, if I have loop sync on, they will follow some "inner" circulation and then start at "some" point, like in the middle. If I have loop sync off, the loops are drifting off. What can I do about that problem?
Hello Beatrice, you need to assign the length of the loop to each track under Track Settings. If you want to have an 8 bar loop on track 1, 4 bar loop on 2, 1 bar loop on 3 etc. you have to set that up ahead of time. They can be different but you can’t record 4 bars into an 8-bar loop and have it repeat itself. You will get 4 bars of loop, then silence. Leave Loop sync on.
Thank you for this very fast answer! I still think I did`t solve my problem, so I will try to explain it in a better way: I have different loop lenghts like 1 bar on the first looper, 4 bars at the second looper. Then I press stop to the second looper. THEN I want to start the second looper again, and I need it to ALWAYS start at its own beginning, whenever I press it. But it won`t, it will sometimes start at the beginning, and sometimes start somewhere in between. Thanks a lot for your reply!!

It looks like you could set the track you want to start in different points of an already playing loop you could set it up as a one shot, and turn Tempo Sync off. Then it would start play back when you hit play, immediately from the beginning.. Otherwise with Loop Sync on it is going to start playback at the beginning of whatever other loops are playing. The down side is of course, the sound won't loop. You could set the same thing up on two tracks though, one loop, one one-shot.
I need a "start mode: beginning of next loop" funktion, but there is only a "start mode: immediate" and "start mode: fade in"
